So this topic is still going on? haha, I would just like to repeat. This behaviour of Asad towards his sister doesn't have anything to do with religion but culture! Also I don't get this father or brother thing, as far as I know.. elder brothers have always been a sort of second father to their younger sisters in our culture. It's not like it's the first time they're showing it in a movie/serial. 😊

okay wow this topic is still going on...guys whatever Asad said to his sister about not wearing jeans is NOT against Islam! It depends on their culture or tradition. In some families, they do have restrictions on these things. Some families have different thinkings! What Asad said is based on his tradition and what they believe in. Yes, he is a strict, conservative guy but that doesn't mean if he tells his sister she can't wear jeans, he can't wear jeans either. Wearing a kurta to his office, does that make sense? Have some common sense people! Obviously, he's gonna wear a suit. That does not make him a hypocrite!

He never said, don't wear it because ISLAM doesn't permit it. He said it's the tehzeeb.. Its a matter of culture and not religion.

No its not! Wearing jeans is not strictly forbidden. Its just that Muslims (esp. girls) are not supposed to wear revealing clothes. (I am a Muslim girl myself and I do wear jeans and long skirts!)

Hi guys,

The discussion was going fine but there are some things which need to be pointed out.

Religion and Culture are two different things.

What Asad might have said to his sister is culture, respect, which is totally different from religion.

Religion: is a belief in God
Culture: is a set of values

So what Asad said to his sister is based on his values.

Please note that.

And for now, since the discussion seems to be over.
