Don 3 Controversy: Is Hrithik Roshan replacing Ranveer Singh? What we know about the feud

The controversy surrounding Don 3 continues to make headlines, with speculations about Hrithik Roshan's involvement refusing to subside. However, a source close to the actor has set the record straight, firmly denying reports that he was approached to replace Ranveer Singh in the film. "It is not true, Hrithik was not approached to star in Don 3 after Ranveer came on board," the insider clarified to HT, putting an end to the swirling rumors.

This clarification surfaces amidst increasing speculation about the issues between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment.

Ranveer Singh’s casting issue in Don 3

Ranveer Singh left Don 3 in December 2025. Following his departure, several reports indicated a strained relationship between the actor and the production house. Ranveer allegedly claimed that the film's shooting was repeatedly delayed when his other films didn't do well. He also reportedly alleged that Excel considered casting Hrithik Roshan without his knowledge and only returned to him after the success of Dhurandhar.

Report on Ranveer Singh’s exit

Bollywood Hungama's report elaborated on the post-Ranveer Singh exit discussions, stating, "From the outset, it was made clear that the intent was not to single out or blame any individual. The discussion revolved around a larger industry issue: what options a filmmaker has after investing substantial money in a film's preproduction when the principal actor exits the project. The stakeholders also examined the issue from the actor's point of view and deliberated on safeguards producers can put in place to prevent such situations in the future."

The same report added, "Ranveer also pointed out that Farhan was never open to feedback on the script and had issues incorporating certain subplots. He further alleged that Excel was exploring the possibility of getting Hrithik Roshan on board and only re-approached him after the success of Dhurandhar, to capitalise on his momentum."

Currently, Excel Entertainment and Farhan Akhtar have not issued any official statements addressing these specific claims.
