"Bhaiyya, please can you go a little faster?" Khushi asked the auto driver. The driver nodded and increased the speed. Di, don't worry. I will be there soon, Khushi thought. Suddenly NK's words echoed in her mind. Until I am back, just promise me, you will be careful around Di. Khushi, what are you thinking? Why would Di try to separate you and Arnavji? Priya must have misunderstood something that Di said. But still, would Nanheji have believed her blindly? If he didn't have complete faith in what she said, would he have said it to you? Khushi sighed. Nanheji has always stood by me. I made a promise to him, that I will be careful. Whether I believe him or not, I should keep my promise to him. Maybe I will call Arnavji. Khushi nodded, yes I will let Arnavji know where I am going. Khushi opened her bag and searched for her phone. She looked up and closed her eyes, frustrated. Did I leave my phone at home? She looked outside and asked the auto driver, "Bhaiyya, can you stop for a minute? I will be right back." The auto pulled to the side and Khushi ran out of the auto to a shop near by.
"Can I make a phone call?" Khushi asked the shop owner. He pointed to a phone and she took it and dialed Arnav's number. It rang two times and got forwarded to voice mail. Khushi was disappointed; maybe he thought it was a wrong number. I will leave him a voice mail. "Hello, Arnavji. I just wanted to let you know that I left my phone at home. Di had said she wanted some help, and she said she tried to reach you, but she couldn't. Anyways I am going to meet her at," Khushi gave him the address." I will call you once I find Di. Don't worry. I won't let anything happen to her. Arnavji I need to leave now." Khushi started to hang up, then she smiled and added, "I love you." She smiled at the shopkeeper and ran back to the auto.
"Do you need anything else, ma'am?" Anjali looked up at the waiter, smiled and shook her head. She looked at the cafe entrance and sighed. She had sent the bail money to Shyam's lawyer that morning. She had spoken to Shyam last night. He had asked her not to come to the jail, in case someone recognized her and called Arnav. She smiled, remembering her conversation with him. "I am sorry for the way Chotte treated you. But you are right, it was all Khushi's fault. She made him do it. I know as long as she is there in the house, Chotte will not let you enter the house. So I have been trying to throw her out. But unfortunately, my plan failed." Shyam had interrupted her. "Don't worry, Rani Sahiba. I cannot see you in pain. My men will make sure that Khushiji will never see Saale Saab again and she will never ever step into Shantivan after tomorrow. She will be out of lives forever. But Rani Sahiba, are you sure that is what you want?" "Yes. She only wanted Chotte's money. He is blind in her love that he doesn't see it. He might be upset initially but he is my brother; I will be there for him. He doesn't need Khushi, as long as I am there for him. He wants me to be happy. So for the sake of my happiness, he will let you live with me." "Ok, Rani Sahiba. I will meet you at Lotus Cafe tomorrow at 10am. But you should ask Khushiji to come to a different place". He gave her the address. "My men will meet her there." Anjali smiled.
Khushi stepped out of the auto. The address Anjali gave was a rundown warehouse. There was no one around. "Di?" Khushi screamed. "Madamji, I have to go now." the auto driver said and Khushi nodded and paid him. He drove off, leaving her alone. She looked around and yelled "Di, where are you?" Until I am back, just promise me, you will be careful around Di. NK's words echoed in her mind. Devi Maiyya, please protect me. Khushi said a silent prayer. Suddenly she felt the presence of someone behind her. "Di?" She turned around and her eyes shot open wide.
"Ok, Aman. Bring it to my cabin later". Arnav said to Aman, as he watched three men walk out of the conference room; he had been busy in a meeting with the Mehtas for the past two hours. He picked up his phone and he was surprised to see a voice mail. During the meeting, there had been a phone call from an unknown number. He had cancelled it thinking it must have been a wrong number. He was about to delete the voice mail, when suddenly he felt a breeze. Khushi? He listened to the voice mail and raised his eyebrows in shock. He dialed Anjali's number; the phone kept ringing. "Sir, you can't go in there without an appointment". Arnav looked up, the phone pressed against his ear, as he heard his secretary's voice. "Mr. Roy?" Arnav looked up as a man walked in. "ASR, I have been trying to get in touch with you for the past one hour. I am afraid I have bad news." Arnav cut the call. "Shyam is out on bail". "What?" "I don't know what happened, I have been.." Mr Roy started, but Arnav had already run out of the office.
Anjali saw the phone ringing. "Chotte?" She looked at it surprised. She let the phone ring. Her eyes widened. "Did he find out that Shyamji is out on bail? Or.. or did Khushiji let him know that I had called her? What does Chotte know?" Her thoughts were interrupted when the phone rang again. Shyam! A smile appeared on Anjali's face as she picked up the call. "Where are you? I have been waiting for the past hour". "Thank you Rani Sahiba for getting me out of jail.." Anjali smiled. "and thank you even more for bringing Khushiji to me". "Huh?" Anjali raised her eyebrows in shock. Shyam continued. "Now I need one more favor from you. Tell Arnav that if he wants to see his wife unharmed, I need 1 crore in cash by tomorrow morning. Until then... she stays with me. I will call Arnav in an hour to give him the news myself. But I thought you being his sister should be the first one to give him this good news!" A tear rolled down Anjali's cheek. "What? But I thought.. we.. I thought you will come back to live with me.. and our baby.. " Shyam laughed. "Yes, Rani Sahiba. I will never forget the moments we shared. Life was great with you, but Rani Sahiba, you don't understand. I never loved you, I married you just for your money. Good bye, Rani Sahiba." Shyam hung up and Anjali burst into tears.
