Part 4

A week later...

It has been slightly more than a week into Khushi's job at Arnav's office, and Lavanya has not even tried calling Arnav, forget stepping into his office. Arnav begins to wonder whether just getting Khushi to work for him has performed some sort of miracle that he doesn't have to see or hear from Lavanya ever again.

"But alas...!! I had to speak too soon, didn't I?" Arnav says to himself, as he sees Lavanya enter his office once again, after a gap of nearly three weeks which he is deeply thankful to god for.

"Arrrnavvv... Arrrnaaavvv...!!!" Lavanya calls as she climbs the stairs to Arnav's cabin. Khushi, who is in his cabin, awaiting for some dictation of a letter to one of Arnav's biggest clients, can't help but burst out laughing at the way Lavanya rolls out her "R's". Arnav gives Khushi one of his usual death glares, but that doesn't stop her from shutting her laughter, unlike it does for Akash.

As Lavanya enters Arnav's cabin, her eyes go wide. She stares at Khushi, and gives her a hard, cold stare. But Khushi stares right back, and much to Arnav's surprise, Lavanya actually seems to recoil, slightly in fear.

"Arrrnaavvv, who is this girl in your cabin? Can you please ask her to go out? I need to speak privately with you." Lavanya requests Arnav.

"Khushi, please...!!!" Arnav indicates to Khushi to go out of his cabin, and Khushi does so without an argument. This fact surprises Arnav to quite an extent, and he makes up his mind to thank Khushi for not arguing with him.

However, he takes back his words as he sees Khushi just outside the office, with her ear pressed to the door, eavesdropping on their conversation. Akash, who is just coming up the stairs, is also pulled by Khushi to eavesdrop, and this angers Arnav even more. He now makes up his mind to take Khushi's class after Lavanya leaves.

Arnav is getting extremely bored with Lavanya's annoying talks. He is about to fall asleep when Lavanya practically screams at him, rolling out her "R's" in his name, as usual. Then, with almost every sentence she says out loud, Arnav thinks something else in his mind.

"Arrrnaavvv...!! Are you listening to me? I was saying that a few days after the last time I came to your office, I contracted chicken pox."

"I don't want to be mean, but why couldn't you have just gone missing forever in the Amazon forest or some thick, dense jungle? Then, I wouldn't have to see you till the day I die." Arnav says to himself.

Lavanya continues, "And I know that you've had it before, but if you're in contact with me, and get shingles instead, then it will be more dangerous. So I didn't visit you. I know you must have missed me, but what do I do?"

"Missed you??!!! Yeah, right! I am so thankful that I didn't have to see or hear from you these past three weeks or so. And I would rather miss the other Miss Annoying aka Miss Khushi Kumari Gupta. At least she seems less annoying than you, Namoona." Arnav continues talking to himself, trying to keep awake even though he is nearly falling asleep.

"I couldn't risk passing on the disease to you, could I? And I didn't even want to call you, or tell you I was sick, or you would get more worried about me."

"Wait a minute... Why the hell am I thinking about Khushi?? What the...!!!" Arnav gets annoyed at himself, and stops thinking anything at all.

"Anyways, now that I am here, let's go out for lunch and catch up..." When Lavanya says this, it finally manages to bring Arnav to attention. But, it is still so sudden that he is caught at unawares.

Arnav prays silently for someone to come and help him, and at that very moment, Khushi enters the cabin. She opens the door with a bang, surprising Lavanya, who has been trying very hard to stare into Arnav's eyes, that have been looking everywhere else but at her.

"I am sorry, Sir..." Khushi begins. "But Sir, it is nearly noon, and you are getting late for your lunch meeting with our potential client. You have to discuss some important business proposition with him, remember?"

"Really? Oh yes, I totally forgot about that." Arnav seems confused at first. Khushi winks at him to try to make him understand that she is just making up this excuse so that Lavanya leaves soon. Arnav is surprised, but finally gets it when Akash comes up behind Khushi and indicates to Arnav to just go along with Khushi.

"Oh, yes. I do have this lunch meeting. I am so sorry, Lavanya. I have to attend this meeting, as it is an important one and will help further boost our company's reputation. Please understand, Lavanya." Arnav pretends to be sorry and apologizes to Lavanya. He says this in a tone that is obviously sarcastic, which even Khushi and Akash get, but Lavanya as usual seems to be a bit on the blur side.

"Okay, I understand Arrrnaaavvv. You go on with your meeting. I will come another time. Maybe, next week... I hope that is okay with you? Bye, Arrrnaaavvv...!!!" Lavanya says her 'bye' to Arnav and hurriedly leaves the office, clearly upset.

But Arnav, and even Khushi and Akash can care less. They breathe a huge sigh of relief and start talking about her annoying talks and behaviour as soon as she is out of hearing range.

An hour later...

"So, let me get this straight. Only Lavanya is supposed to think that I am your girlfriend? No one in your family can come to know about this at all?" Khushi asks Arnav.

"Yes, yes. For the millionth time yes." Arnav is as usual, annoyed at Khushi and her million questions.

"But why would you not want your family to know? Or at least tell them about your fake-girlfriend to get rid of your ex-girlfriend plan?"

"Because if they knew it was all just a plan, they would probably be hurt. And if they really think that you are 'my girlfriend' then they would probably plan our marriage sooner than we can even say the word marriage."

"You're weird, you know that right?" Khushi decides to annoy Arnav just for fun.

"How dare you?! Who gave you the right to call your boss weird? I can fire you, do you know that?" Arnav is again pissed at Khushi.

But Khushi seems as smug and confident as ever. "Oh yeah, I know that. You can fire me. Except that you won't, because you probably won't be able to find anyone to replace me. I am just too good you see. I am the best...!!!"

"What the...!!!" Arnav gets ready to shout at Khushi, but just then Akash enters Arnav's cabin. He has a worried look on his face that worries Arnav as well, because Akash is usually never gets worried in terms of business.

"Bhai, there is a problem..." Akash starts off, and even Arnav starts to fear what is coming next.
