Actor Ali Asgar moves out of Palm Court, which houses some of tellydom's biggies

While the TV industry's favourite address is Palm Court in Malad (Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Sakshi Tanwar and many others), Ali Asgar, (Kamal of Kahaani...) has moved out of the Palm Court into a 1200 sq feet 2-BHK flat at ZA Towers, off Yari Road, in Versova.
Traffic menace
Asgar was the first actor from the television circuit to have bought an apartment at the by-now- famous starry abode in 2001. "I was looking for a bigger house. I always wanted to get away from Palm Court. If other actors are staying there, good for them. But I wanted something near Andheri."
One of the main reasons for Ali moving out of his old residence, was the traffic. "There's bumper-to-bumper traffic on that road, which moves at snail's pace and I would always get stuck in it. I could take it no more. I go towards Andheri and Bandra regularly as a lot of our friends and relatives, stay there. I lost out on many film projects because I could not make it to meet people in Andheri. Reaching home after a day's work, I couldn't muster the courage to step out in the traffic again. So why stay in the Goregaon-Malad area?" he questions.

But doesn't he have to travel more now to reach work? "Yes, my travelling was lesser previously, but I can't be selfish. What about my wife Siddiqueh? I have to see to her convenience also."
The furniture is all-new. The Palm Court stuff has all been done away with. A proud Asgar says, "I bought everything myself. I went out and booked it. But it has not been easy." Asgar recently shot for David Dhawan's Partner and Balaji's Bhojpuri flick. His parents stay in Bandra, and his father runs an Irani restaurant in Null Bazaar. "Mom keeps coming very often," says Asgar. "We've not yet had a house-warming party, but maybe after a few days."
