Part 9 :

Arjun felt the same void as the call ended. He wanted to talk for a long time, this was their first phone convo and he was left with a sweet feeling. Her voice is as sweet as her smile, her smile is as magical as her eyes, her eyes are as pure as her heart. He wanted her to be next to him, so he can see all of it again in front of him. He had set up her pic as screensaver in his laptop and everytime he saw it, it only increased his ache to see her. He couldnot wait for them to be in mumbai, he will make sure she gets everything she needed, maybe there he could open his heart too, will she reciprocate? What if she doesnot feel the same ? he was disturbed now.

Arohi was confused about herself for the first time. A guy calls in the night and she was not annoyed at all , is it because it was arjun? Why did his opinion about the even at school or the food or raashi's mention of his marriage matter to her ? it should not. She is just not busy enough, that is the reason she is getting all the unwanted thoughts, when her future and her goal is clear she has work towards it, not get distracted. She tried hard to send the constantly flashing arjun's image out of her mind. Finally she succeeded only because she went to sleep.

Next morning at breakfast rudra came to know that arohi will be going to mumbai and that daadi had asked her to stay in their house , 'you have to take good care of her' he told raashi, 'I will' replied both arjun and raashi at the same time. While raashi and daadi chuckled at his eagarness , rudra did not pay much attention. 'good , make her feel at home, and take her around too' 'yeah I have that all planned' replied arjun, 'really , so soon , guess someone is tooo restless and e a g e r' stretching the last word. 'and you' rudra told raashi 'cut is out on kadi, what is with it? Everyday ?' 'oh, dad that is not for you, that is for someone very special' she gave arjun a look 'I won a bet so..' 'you both will never change' rudra said finishing his bfast 'arjun , you are coming with us or are you leaving from here itself?' 'I will leave from here in a while' arjun replied not so happily, not that he was able to see arohi daily even if he was here but still being in the same town gave him some solace but now he has to go so far away for 2 full days. Raashi sensed this 'sabar ka phal meetha hota hai' she teased him.

Arohi had to make a lot of arrangements before leaving. The most tough one was to convince guddi. When guddi saw her packing she knew something was up and she noticed only arohi's things were being packed. She got her bag too and started to put her stuff. Arohi tried explaining to her that she will at bua's house and she will be back soon. Even an incentive of new dress or jewellery did not convince her sister. She slowly started to get mad and stopped talking to aro. Bua tried her best too. In school it was easy since her collegues knew and were capable of managing without her. She asked if sanchit wanted to come so she wont feel alone among them . Sanchit agreed but had to cancel since his good friend was leaving the town forever and sanchit wanted to be with him. Arohi understood and even if sanchit came he would probably be bored with arjun jignesh gone to work and arohi to the workshop so it was best not to bother him. With sanchit staying back it was little more easy to convince guddi to stay there, he knew how to cheer her up so bua wont have much trouble. All in all everything seemed fine and she was ready to leave. To her own dismay she did find herself thinking it might be arjun a couple of times when the phone rang.

Raashi was excited , first coz of arjun and arohi and then she would be able to meet her friends, go shopping at her fav. Places , visit her fav spots again, can bring back some of her stuff she had left behind. She was chalking out plans all day. She also came to know that daadi knows about arjun. She did not tell anything to jignesh yet. On Saturday arohi was ready with her stuff , lunch packed for 3 people and some of guddi's stuff shifted to her aunt's house. She was very nervous about this whole thing. Guddi was still mad at her and it was hard to see her that way . Once she is back she will have to make it up to her. may be she can take her to some place for a holiday along with bua's family, this thought cheered arohi up a lot. She promised guddi she will take her to a holiday once she is back.

When arohi left guddi did not wave goodbye but had tears in her eyes , which cut through everyone present. Arohi was silent for a few mins in the car, even if she wanted to talk she would not find her voice. After a while 'sorry , I did not even thank you properly' she told raashi. Jignesh was driving and raashi was sitting next to him, arohi sat in the back . raashi 'your sister could have come with us , it was so sad to see her like that , you must be more upset' she told arohi ' no it will be hard when I go to the workshop, I had already checked with them and it is only for teachers. She will be okay with my aunt' giving a weak smile. Raashi changed the subject 'it will take around 6 hrs or so and then we will be home , it will be so nice to have for a change another girl of my age in the house' jignesh only spoke now and then for formality. With raashi he was fine. They had some hubby wife talks in between. Arohi was slowly getting comfortable in their presence , she was not much of a talker but was a good listener. Raashi had something to say about arjun in every other sentence. 'he will be eagerly waiting for us' 'he will be calling me soon to find out where we are at' 'may be he was up all night partying with friends ,so did not call this morning' 'he likes this' ' he likes that' arohi could not take part in such convos but did not mind raashi talking about him at all. She remembered his voice on the phone, she could hear him say 'aarohii' again , she felt warm in her cheeks suddenly even if the ac was on. Arohi called a couple of times in between to talk to guudi, but both times could only talk to her aunt. They stopped for lunch , ate some of what arohi packed and some of what raashi got, 'arjun will like this, I will save it for him' raashi packed the remaining of what arohi had got.

Just then arjun called raashi to check how far they were. We are about 3 hrs away. Raashi said, then she said 'no no , not needed we will be there soon, listen '' 'when did he ever listen to me' she mumbled. Arohi did not understand any of that. When they were about and 2 hrs away from the city , raashi got a call again and she asked jignesh to stop at the basera restaurant that was on the way. 'Why? packing dinner' He asked , raashi did not reply and was busy looking out the window and said 'there he is' as the car pulled into the lot. Arjun was walking towards the car. Arohi was not expecting this and she felt warmer in the cheeks now. He was wearing a grey round neck tee and black jeans. He was walking with one hand in the pocket, he waved at her as he caught her gaze. She gave a weak smile again.

Jignesh was equally surprised seeing arjun there , 'how come you are here ?' he asked him, 'I was just in the area and found out you are near by so I waited' he replied, yeah right thought raasi 'where is . Arjun gave a tap on her head as a reply to her looks 'I came with a friend' he said, its more like made a friend drop you she thot loving this eagerness in her brother . 'your brother in law is tired of driving you take over' she said and then asked arohi if she would mind sitting in the front seat , because she felt like lying down and she needed jignesh's lap for that. Arohi in any way could not say no to that, jignesh himself was surprised that raashi needed his lap to nap. Arjun knew he had to survive another cooking marathon by her for this small favour, that too which he did not ask but was super happy she did. Arjun was driving and arohi sat next to him now, within minutes jignesh and raashi both were sleeping. Arjun asked her if the drive was comfortable. He asked how guddi was and did she take it well. When she said she is fine, 'may be you should take her for a holiday later' he said, arohi thought that is exactly what she had felt and that had made her better also .'yes I should' she said. 'did you call her yet' he said 'yeah I did she went out with my aunt' she replied. 'how long is the workshop again' 'two weeks' 'that gives us about 3 weekends including this' he said , so she thought 'I thought we were leaving the saturday after the workshop was done' 'my dad has told us to take you around' not just my dad he thought. With the side of his eyes he noticed her bangles , her finger ring, her neatly shaped nails, he turned and looked at her, when she looked at him, he just smiled. And said 'welcome to mumbai' as they entered the city. She thought they were already in the city all this while , 'we are a little away from the main city, but this is all mumbai' 'have you ever been here before' he asked 'when I was a kid I had come once' 'nice'. After another half hour or so , they finally arrived into a drive way. It looked like a two level house. With a big terrace opening out. '
