IT'S A HILARIOUS SCENE FROM SHOLAY
Maan looked at the fragments of the rum bottle that had suddenly come crashing down onto the smooth marble floor and had shattered, both the peaceful aura of the mansion, and itself. He looked up to see the source of this sudden uproar, and was shocked at what he saw.
Vicky was dangling from the huge chandelier that hung at the centre of the huge living room, holding onto its stem to stay put.
He was apparently drunk.
"VICKY!!!
VICKY, WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING OVER THERE!!
GET DOWN THIS MINUTE!!!", Maan screamed at his brother, worried out of his wits.
He rushed forward and halted right below the chandelier, followed by the others, everybody except Arjun, who had other plans. On everybody's request,he intended to record the whole drama today, so that they could all watch it later.
He had absolutely no intention to strain himself with acting today. So everybody except for him joined Maan, who were much less worried than he was.
His worry was regarding the safety of his brother, theirs for the safe execution of their plan.
"NO BHAI!!
THIS IS IT!!!
IF I CAN'T HAVE A LIFE WITH HER, THEN I MIGHT AS WELL NOT HAVE IT AT ALL!!", he spoke in perfect drunk accent.
All this commotion had apparently attracted Nakul and Sukhdev, the gardener's attention as well, who happened to be in on the plan too, and had hurried to the scene of action, along with Adi, who too was well rehearsed.
"PAR VICKY TUM YEH KAR KYA RAHE HO!!!!"
"Kood jaoonga, phand jaoonga, mar jaoonga!!
Hat jaooo!!!!"
"PAR, TUM YEH KYON KAR RAHE HO!!!", Maan screamed after him.
"Wahi kar raha hoon bhaiyya, jo Majnu ne Laila ke liye kiya tha, Ranjha ne Heer ke liye kiya tha, Romeo ne Juliet ke liye kiya tha.
SUICIDE!!!
SUICIDE!!!"
At this Sukhdev asked Nakul, "Are bhai, yeh SUICIDE kya hota hai?"
Who readily answered, "Angrez log jab marte hain, to usse SUICIDE kehte hain".
"Lekin yeh angrez log marte kyon hain?"
Nakul donned a look of confusion at this, and adressed Vicky
"ARE BHAI BAAT KYA HAI, TUM SUICIDE KYUN KARNA CHAHTE HO?"
Vicky put on a sorrowful face as he replied
"Yeh mat pucho Chacha, tumhaare aansoon nikal aaenge!
Yeh badi dukh bhari kahani hai, is story mein emotion hai, drama hai, tragedy hai.
Yeh Geet haina, isse mera lagan hone wala tha chacha, lekin is kameenay Dev ne beech mein bhaanji mar di, ab main is duniya mein nahin reh sakta!
Ghar waalon, tumko mera aakhri salaam
Good bye!!
Goood...byeee...!!!!!"
At this Sukhdev again asked Nakul,
"Are bhai, yeh GOODBYE kya hota hai?"
"Angrez log jab jaatee hain tab GOODBYE kehte hain!"
"Are par yeh angrez log jaate kahan hain?"
But before Nakul could answer, Vicky again screamed
"Ghar waalon main jaa raha hoon, bhagwan main aa raha hoon..!!!", and with this said Vicky started to disengage himself from the chandelier, and started bending outwards towards its rim, in pretense to jump off.
At this everybody who was already practiced with the script that Geet had written while watching Sholay the night before screamed in unison..
"ARE... NAHI... NAHI...
RUK JAAOOO...!!!!"
Their voices came out wrong.
Where they were supposed to be laced with worry, whereas, they had all shouted out in excitement.
The problem being, that everybody, from the gardener Sukhdev, to Dadi ma were huge Sholay fans, and enacting the seen where Veeru is hanging off the top of the Water Tank, threatening to jump with the Gaaon walon beneath trying to stop him, was simply euphoric.
They were all enjoying themselves thoroughly!!!
Maan turned to look at his excited family members aghast, they didn't look very worried to him.
On the verge of jumping off, Vicky stopped at this and delivered his next dialogue,
"Haan, ruk jaoon?
Tum...tum log kehte ho, to thodi der ruk jaataa hoon..."
Maan scratched his head at this, though the situation was of utter seriousness and danger, he somehow sensed something foul in the way things were proceeding.
Why did the situation seem so familiar!!!!
Annie had just returned from her four days' trip from her friend's house, hence she was unaware of the plan.
Shocked beyond belief at what was happening around her, she really couldn't understand why Vicky wanted to kill himself for Geet. But this was not the time for rationality, it was of prime importance that he be brought down.
His friendship with Arjun was legendary, she was sure that her husband could pursuade her brother to drop the act of lunacy and come to his senses.
But why was he so comfortably seated on the table, sipping his coffee, with a video camera in the other hand?
She rushed over to him and urged him to do something,
"Are waah..!!
Are, tum kaise dost ho!!
Tum yahan baithe, is sab ki video recording utaar rahe ho!!!"
"Kyun, kya hua?", Arjun answered nonchalantly.
"Mujhe kya maalum kya hua!!
Main to abhi-abhi aaie hoon!!
Woh dekho tumhara dost kahan chad gaya!!
Dekho!!!
Dekha, dekha tumne!!!"
"Haan,dekha.
Kuch nahi hoga!
Jab scene khatam hoga, toh yeh bhi utar aaega."
"Yunki maine ek se ek zaalim dekha, magar tumhaare jaisa pathar dil dost nahi dekha!!
...ARE SAMBHAALOOO", she rushed back towards Vicky.
Arjun chuckled to himself, why, did Annie also watch Sholay yesterday!!!
"Mera koi nahi hai is duniya mein!
Na yaar, na dost, isliye main jaan dekar rahoonga!!
Lekin ek baat sun lo Ghar waalon!
Jahaan koi premi jaan deta hai... wahan bhayankar kism ki musibaten aati hain!"
"Kaisi musibaten?"... Nakul asked.
"Aakaal, sukha, tabaahi...
Aur yeh sab is kameene Dev ki wajah se, jisne mujhse mera pyar cheen liya... is kameene ki wajah se!!!!
Dekh lena Ghar waalon,
when I dead...
...police coming,
police coming,
Dev going to jail,
in jail, Dev chakki peesing, and peesing, and peesing..."
"... and peesing, and peesing!!!", Geet continued reciting, muttering his dialogue under her breath.
Maan turned and looked at her in shock.
"Are Dev, Geet ko Vicky ko saunp do, warna woh jaan de dega!!!", Adi screamed in false worry.
"Are kaise de doon Dinanaath Ji!!"
Oops!!!!
That was the real dialogue from the film!!
Apparently Dev had gotten carried away!
"Ab, ab... a... mera matlab hai.. Adi, kaise de doon, a.. woh... um... han... Geet to meri patni haina!"
"Are Ghar waalon... is kameene se bheek maangne ki koi zaroorat nahin!!
Ab main rukne wala nahi hoon!
Main jaan dekar rahoonga,
ek...
do...
teen... ... ..."
This was Geet's cue to deviate from Sholay's script...
"Dev plz!!
Maine yeh baat abhi tak kisi se nahi kahi, magar, Vicky hi mere bacche ka asli pita hai!!
Agar use kuch hogaya, to mera baccha anaath ho jaaega, kyunki main bhi nahin bachoongi, main bhi usi chandelier se kood ke apni jaan de doongi!!!"
"Dev Sir! maan jaaiye na!
Faltu mein court-kacheheri ka chakkar ho jaaega!", Adi pitched in.
"Are yaar, main to pehle bhi jail gaya hua hoon, yeh to phir se badi dikkat ka kaam ho jaaega!"
"To maan jaaiye na Dev Sir!!"
"Accha...
chalo.. theek hai!
VICKY!!!!!
VICKY!!!
THEHER JA.. THEHER JA...
MAIN TAYYAR HOON...!!!"
"ARE VICKY SIR...
MAUSI MAAN GAYI HAN...!!
Ab.. woh... mera matlab hai ki... Dev Sir maan gaye hain!!!
NECHE AA JAAIYE...!!!!", Adi screamed back at Vicky.
"Haan...
Haan...
Neeche aajaao..!!!", everybody else chimed in.
"Are!!!
Dev se kaun shaadi karega bewkoofon..!!
Mujhe to Geet se shaadi karni hai!!!
Geet se!!!"
"VICKY!!!
MAIN TUMSE SHAADI KARNE KE LIYE TAYYAR HOON...!!!
AB NEECHE AA JAAO..!!!!"
Geet replied.
"Are, Ghar waalon, suna tumne, Mausi bhi tayyar hai, aur Basanti bhi tayyar hai...
ab..um.. woh... mera matlab hai ki... Dev bhi tayyar hai, aur Geet bhi tayyar hai,
Isliye marna cancel...
Main neeche utar raha hoon Ghar waalon!!!"
And saying this he struggled to climb off the chandelier, but his foot got caught in one of the ropes, and Vicky felt such a hard pull due to this, that he slipped, and fell off... his foot still stuck in the chandelier, as he dangled from it upside down from one foot...
Now since this was definitely not a part of the plan, everybody panicked.
But before they could take their panic a level higher, the rope holding Vicky's foot came undone, and he came flying down, and onto the trampoline that Arjun had already placed right below the chandelier to make sure nothing happened in case he fell.
