Part 104
"You did give Daadima, a ray of hope, Geet. by just appearing in front of Sasha. She would not let that opportunity go. Remember she is Savitri Singh Khurana".
"Maan, be clear, please", she said.
"Sasha and Daadima, wrote some questions to the magazine and she ordered those be directed to you. This continued for a long time and you answered all their queries. You fell for the trap they had laid. You were frustrated getting calls from the magazine people everytime and hence gave your personal details, so that they could contact you directly. Your cel phone number was enough for Savitri Singh Khurana to locate where you are and what you did. Accordingly she flew down to Chennai to meet you".
"you knew all this?", she asked him.
"No, now that you said, Daadima came to meet you. I kind of understood what could have happened. I knew she went to Chennai a couple of times, but I never asked her why. I never spoke to anyone that much, after you left. So now tell me how she cleared the doubts and dislike you had for Maan Singh Khurana".
"It was in the afternoon, when I was told by my colleague that some one had come to meet me. I asked for their details and I was told that the person refused to divulge details and would like to meet me straightaway. For a fraction of a second I thought it was you. My heart jumped with happiness but I remembered what happened and frowned. I hoped it would not be you. I walked into the waiting room to find it empty and later my colleague told me that the person was waiting in the CEO's chamber. I walked in, to find Daadima there. I was surprised, shocked, happy and also sad at the same time. I did not even have a chance to escape as my CEO was sitting right there. I was forced to smile and talk to Daadima. I know I was being rude by not wanting to talk to her. But I knew she would take your side and support you and not me".
Maan smirked. Geet was confused at his smirk and questioned him about it.
He said, "did you not understand the whole master plan behind catching you off guard?"
Geet nodded her head in refusal. And Maan smirked even more and continued, "Daadima knew that if she came to your house directly or tried calling you directly, you would never meet her or talk to her. Instead you would think of moving your base away from Chennai, so that she would not locate you or atleast take some more time to find out where you are. So, the best thing she could do was to come to your office and meet you there. Do you see the clarity in thought she had? She exactly knew how to trap you. Had she waited in the waiting room, you would turn down her invitation to talk, anytime and walk away. Hence she used her power and position and made you come and meet her, in your CEO's chamber and not anywhere else".
Geet looked at him in surprise and asked, "How do you understand all this?"
"Because I am Maan Singh Khurana and the lady in question is my Daadima, Savitri Singh Khurana. If I don't understand her, then who does?", he said, with utmost arrogance in his voice.
Geet shook her head in acceptance. He was right, he was the only person who understood his daadima, through and through and she was the only person who understood him the same way.
Maan spoke again, "continue! How did the conversation go?"
Geet continued, "As soon as I walked into the room, Daadima got up from her chair, smiling, and she came forward to hug me. I hugged her back. I did not understand what was happening and I waited for her to continue".
"Geet beti, kaisi hain tu? I was abroad all this while and you moved out of Delhi and did not even tell me, my child. You thought I would not find out about you?", she said, point blank, smiling.
"I was confused unable to understand what she was playing at. She knew I was moving out of Delhi, then why did she say she didn't? Before I could question her or say anything further, Daadima quickly turned to the CEO and spoke to him".
"She was doing her CA before I left to Australia on some business work. I did not know when I could come back as there were lot of issues that needed immediate attention there. I told her the same and she was very disappointed. She told me then that she would not stay in Delhi, any longer, without me. I thought she was joking then but this girl actually left Delhi and came to settle in Chennai", said Daadima, continuing to smile.
Daadima turned to look at Geet and smiled, Geet then understood that the presence of a third person in the room, made her change the story. Geet smiled back and did not speak anything. She knew she would anyway lose, trying to argue with Daadima, so there is no point of wasting her time and also Daadima's time.
My CEO who as probably a few years younger to Daadima, spoke up, saying, "Yep, children these days, want everything to go according to their wishes. And Geet, especially, is a woman of her words".
He then looked at Geet and said, "Geet, I think you should talk to your grandmother for sometime now. Sit here and talk, I have some meeting to attend and hence will not be back in office until late evening. And you can take some time off for your grandmother".
He then turned to Daadima and spoke, "It's a pleasure meeting you, Mrs. Khurana. Please feel comfortable and you can take your time in talking to Geet".
"Thank you so much, Mr. Rathi. I appreciate it", she said, with the same pleasant smile on her face, all along.
As Mr. Rathi made his way out, Daadima sat down on the couch and waited for the door to close completely. Geet was struck, no where to run.
She turned to look at Daadima, who looked at her with the same pleasant expression. She did not speak anything for sometime and Geet did not know how to start the conversation. After 15 mminutes of silence, Daadima took a deep breath and said, "Geet, will you sit down please?"
Geet nodded her head and took the couch opposite to her and waited for Daadima to speak.
Daadima continued, "I am neither here to convince you to come back nor am I here to convince you that whatever happened was entirely your fault".
Geet looked at her surprised, thinking, "then why is she here, if she did not want me to come back or if she did not want to prove her grandson innocent and me guilty?"
Daadima smiled again and said, "Don't worry, I will not come back again if you don't like it. I just wanted to meet you, Its been a long time since I met you and found out how you are. So, this meeting with you is quite a casual one, with no personal discussions, intruding in between, at any point of time".
Geet remained silent and controlled the strong urge to find out how Maan and Muskan were doing.
Daadima spoke again, "I see, you've changed quite a bit, Geet. It's been 45 minutes since I've met you and you have not spoken a word. This is not the Geet, I knew 4 years back".
"Geet changed. She Is no longer the same Geet that the Khurana's have known. This Geet does not know what it means to be deceived. Because she has been deceived so many times, by the people in the same family that forced her to change. This Geet is more cautious, when she speaks to others these days, because she does not want to go through the same pain and emotions once again in her life. This Geet has no one, no parents, no siblings, no husband or family or friends. And she is happy that way. She rather not have anyone, than be put to suffering and pain at every point of life, by people very dear to her and very special to her".
Geet realized she had spoken to much, but she was very confident that she had not spoken even one word wrong. Daadima continued to remain cool and smiled as always.
"Geet, I guess you understood the purpose of this conversation- it's a casual one. I am not here to ask you to come back to the Khurana's. I would not, if you don't want to, child. I am here to meet a very special person in my life and find out how she's doing. I see, she's doing fine and that makes me happy. After all, I want your happiness and you can do what makes you happy. I will not stop you or force you to change your track. So you don't have to worry".
Geet felt guilty for talking to her so impolitely. She was about to speak up in an attempt to apologize, "I'm sorry, I should not have spoken that way. I apologize for being so mean to you".
"Geet, you need to understand that you are no different to me, from my eldest grandson. So, I would not mind. Age, has taught me to look at things from the perspective of the other person too. SO, I can exactly comprehend what you are going through by seeing me here and what you have gone through all this while".
The words "eldest grandson", made Geet's heart sink. She almost had tears playing in her eyes now. But she controlled herself. She told her herself to be strong.
"I guess I will leave now. Its time for my flight. I enjoyed spending sometime with you and meeting you.I don't know if you think the same. And don't worry, even if you don't think the same, I would not mind".
She moved forward to hug Geet again and smiled at her and patted her cheek lovingly, "You know my contact details. You can call me whenever you want. The reason I said "you can call me", is because I don't think you would like me to call you anytime. Take care, my child and God Bless", she said, making her way out of the chamber.
Geet ran to the door to see her Daadima walk away and watched her till she made her way down the stairs and till she exited the huge glass doors.
"I broke down after she left. I went back to my chamber and cried. She is like a motherly figure to me and guided me through all the thicks and thins in life. She accepted me, despite knowing the fact that I was pregnant with someone else's child. I realized how much she loves me, then. But when she came to meet me I realized it was the love she had for you, that made her meet me. My relation with her is because of you, but it strengthened because of the bond both of us shared. I hated the fact that she still had thought positive about me and came to meet me. When it should have been the other way round".
"Is that all she spoke in the first meeting?", asked Maan.
"Yes. Nothing more than that. Then the second time, I did not meet her directly but we were in the same business conference in Noida. She was there to give a presentation and I was attending the conference because my boss wanted me to. I did not know she was present until she was invited to give her presentation. I sat through the presentation and realized that the aura of this woman even at this age, did not diminish even an inch. She still had the power and charisma a business magnat should have. Later I met her during lunch. That was the second time I met her in a span of three months".
"I see!", said Maan.
"When I met her, she casually spoke to me and asked me how I was. I met Vishal and Kia later at the hotel. I was very happy to meet them. I looked around hoping I would get a glimpse of you and Muskan, but Kia told me the answer to questions I had in my eyes. she told me that you and Muskan were on a vacation in Mauritius. I spoke to them for a long time and got back to my room in the evening. Though I was excited that everything that I left behind, was slowly coming back to me, I feared the day I would have to come face to face with you and your wife, Samira".
"Later that night, I got a call from the reception, that Vishal and Kia would like to meet me and that they were waiting at the lobby. I changed and went down to the lobby, kind of knowing what would be in store for me. At the lobby, I did not find Kia and Vishal anywhere. But someone named Vikrant came to meet me. he introduced himself and told me the entire story about him and Samira. He also told me that Maan and Samira had not met for the last so many years and that they were never married. He showed me photographs of Samira and him, and marriage photographs of samira with someone else. I asked him why he was telling me all this and aT that moment Vishal walked in.
he told me, "because you would not trust us Bhabhi. But this is the real story".
"Vishal, then asked Vikrant to give all the photographs to me and asked him to leave. Vishal sat with me in the lobby and explained the entire story about your father, mother , Dev's mother and Samira again. I was shocked to know the truth. He was told me to that I could believe him only if I wanted to, but this in fact is the reality. Kia was present too and told me, that you had never considered any woman a part of you, except for me. She knocked some sense into me, by telling me that Naintara just needed a chance to separate us".
"I looked at both of them suspiciously. And then Vishal spoke up".
"Bhabhi, you don't have to believe us. But I request you to give a thought to my story just once. I will give you the details of Naintara and you can go meet her. Ask her what the entire story about Samira is. If she can tell you what I told you now. I swear you will never see us again. But the day you realize you've had a misconception about my bro deciving you, then you will have to face me, at every point in your life. Because I will not let you away from his life so easily. Please remember this. I am Vishal Singh Khurana, I have the same ego and determination that runs in the blood of my bro and my grandmom" said Vishal trying his level best to convince Geet.
"I questioned him back and argued with him and refused to believe anything he spoke. He got furious and slammed the contact details of Naintara on the table in the lobby and left. Kia then dragged me into a car and drove me somewhere. She stopped the car in front of the building where Naintara was supposedly in police custody. She flashed her Id and they let us in. while walking to the room,Naintara was in, Kia spoke to me".
"Geet this is the last chance you have to come back into Veerji's life and get rid of all the confusion you've had all these years. Now how you make use of it is in your hands. But you will not come out of this building until you talk to that witch" said Kia, sounding very angry.
"I will not talk to anyone", I retaliated.
"Alright", said Kia and dragged me, and asked the security there to push me into the chamber where Naintara is And close the door. She texted me, "you either talk to her or spend the rest of the night here. The choice is yours".
That's it for now, wonderful people...!!!!!! this update could be a little confusing because Geet is narrating the story to Maan, and I have included dialogues of Vishal , Kia and Daadima as well.
So you like it...!!!!
