Ekta goes international

After launching three new serials this year (Kandy Floss, Kasamh Se and Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka) and gearing up for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi's time leap, Ekta Kapoor is now making an Indo-Pak serial, which will have Dubai as it's base and star artistes from India, Pakistan and Dubai.

Dubai drama

"It's true that I am setting up a Balaji office in Dubai for launching my Indo-Pak serial, in August. It's going to be very big," confirms Ekta. "I will take artistes from Dubai, India and Pakistan to feature in the show." And which channel will it air on? "I can't reveal those details right now."

What genre will the serial be in? "It's a family drama, as they are very popular in Pakistan. Our family dramas are No 1 in Pakistan," she says.

Chinese audience

So Balaji Telefilms is going international? "Who knows? Anything can happen," smiles Ekta. "Our serials are very popular all over. Mauritian people know serials like Kyunki and Kahaani, which are extremely popular there. I am going to shoot in Mauritius this month, for Kahiin Toh Hoga.

And Koshish, another of our serials, is very popular in China. The dubbed version is watched by many people there. Our serials are popular in Pakistan, too. We are trying to build a market all over the world."

i have a question will this serial be a soap or like other Pak serials (of 13-15 epis) i m 😕
