Yeah, the conversation definitely veered off in a different direction (I take part in that)...ultimately, I don't think Deepika is a sexist....though, she is very traditional girl when it comes to family values (she once said she would forgive her man if he cheated on her--but thats whole another story)....I don't think she meant anything about rape victims or women "asking for it"...

No woman ASKS to be raped or molested. I don't know anything about the particular industry that Deepika is talking about....but to the average woman it doesn't matter how she dresses or carries herself, there are always lechers who will mentally undress her and pass lewd comments. Just ask any lady who travels in a crowded bus in our country.... How often have we seen tired middle aged moms traveling back from work with groceries et al being pawed and felt up by perverts? Is the woman at fault here? Was she in any way being undignified or inviting the molester? Most probably she was just thinking about getting home as soon as she could and finishing her work for the day! Tell me how is that being Undignified?

i thnk deepika simply meant that a woman needs to project herself with such a confidence so that no one can try to cheat on her. she might be giving a reference through her own profession.
