Hi guys

So i've heard that Stephen Harper (horrible) Canadian Prime Minister wishes to spend some billions of dollars on expanding the almost inexistant Canadian Military.

Canada has always been a very peaceful country, and except for those conservatives in Alberta I don't think the big centres really want this.

What's worse is that Canada has been the reason for the slow advancement of the G8 summit, so sources claim.

Now the main issue here is:

What is more important spending billions on enhancing not the most powerful military but a military which is acceptable or spending those billions on bringing about international stability and enhancing the environment?

Also, I've always felt that building a stronger military almost brings you in the forefront and claims to the world that you are agressing and ready to fight tthe world. So as it has been in the past during the WW1, wouldn't enhancing the army and making it stronger further aggravate any tensions and make a conflict more likely? so basically better army = aggression = increased chances of conflict ...would that be correct?

Let me know what you think.

Unfortunately the reality these days forces the hand of governments all over the world. We humans need to stop being territorial and develop world citizenship. That might be the way to end all the differences on our planet and address the more serious issues like global warming et al as one.

We humans might start thinking of world citizenship, only if someday some aggressive alien power attacks our planet. Till then sadly it is status quo on this earth, and governments will continue spending billions on arms and the armed forces.

So these days leaders who are willing to make an effort to protect their own people from ones who wish to bring their nation harm are termed as horrible 😆

Only when the country is secure...development can be concentrated...so what's wrong in spending money on security🙂

I too wish instead of wasting trillions of dollars on Weapons, we invest this money into education, healthcare, infrastructure, poverty elimination, scientific reserach to duniya ki haalat kuchh aur hi hoti. But we don't live in a utopia.
