Chapter 3 ~ FAN vs IDEAL

Geet arrived in Goa with mixed emotions. For her, the journey was tinged with apprehension and a sense of responsibility. She knew she was about to embark on a path that involved deception, yet it was driven by her deep love for her twin sister, Nandini.

Geet couldn't bear to see her sister's dreams shattered, so she resolved to do everything in her power to support Nandini's happiness, even if it meant sacrificing her own sense of truth.

She reached her aunt’s cottage in Goa early morning with her suitcase. She was of her father’s age and lovely lady with kind heart,, living alone in the cottage, she also was eager for both girls arrival. And when geet met her alone, she asked about nandini, ‘your father said me that he is sending his both daughters here. Where is other one, nandini?

Geet was nervous though she composed herself and told her lie, actually she has some exam papers to collect, so she stay back and she is coming tomorrow after getting it.

Alright dear, let’s go i will show you both room for you and your sister...

Aunty, actually...one is room is enough for both of us, we both will share the room.

Aunty was happy seeing the bond of the twins, so she agreed and geet goes to change into her room. She settled into her room after checking around everything and found one more door which was opening in the back...seeing this her tube light lighted up with new ideas and she smirked playfully.

Next day, she got ready and left for her college...in afternoon she returned changed into different attire, that was simple cotton sari with one bindi on her forehead, hair beautifully tied in bun...looking exactly like nandini...only difference was there was her brown curly hair...while nandini was having silky black hair.

She entered the premises and aunty was shocked to see her completely different look, geet...?

I mean....nanindi??

Yes..geet gave out pleasant soft smile trying to act as much as like nandini...although it was hell difficult...she changed her behaviour to polite and soft even more than of nandini.

Aunty told her about geet and showed her the room, geet excused herself saying she needs to change and take some rest.

Once she closed the door of room, she sighed in relief, before changing into her casuals...god plz make everything alright soon...I am doing this for nandini...hope she will be fine with kunal...although I have full belief on kunal...he will be taking good care of my sister..she thought with smile.

Nandini and Kunal found a small, cosy apartment on the outskirts of Goa, away from the bustling tourist spots. Thankfully kunal had saved enough money...from his part time salary...before he could plan to marry Nandini...he knew she has brought up with golden spoon in her mouth...that he wanted to give her every comfort and luxury of life...that’s why he decided to first search a good job and then he will take baby steps to start his own business.

Later that night, as Geet lay in bed, she thought about the days ahead. She knew that sooner or later, their father would discover the truth about Nandini's marriage and her impersonation. But for now, in the quiet moments before sleep claimed her, Geet found herself praying for her sister's happiness and wondering how long she could keep up the charade without losing herself completely.

Geet climbed up the staircase of the studio, lost in her own thoughts that she didn’t notice the person walking passed her...

Maan stood still surprised to see her there; he smirked at her back reminding about their earlier encounter and just walked away.

Geet stood nervously in the lobby of the recording studio, her heart pounding with a mixture of anticipation and anxiety. The studio was abuzz with activity—musicians tuning instruments, technicians adjusting sound levels, and assistants hurrying about with purpose. Geet approached the reception desk, where a young woman with a headset greeted her with a smile.

"Hello, how can I help you?" the receptionist asked politely.

Geet took a deep breath, before speaking, ‘I want to meet MK.

Oh god! He just went to home. Reception informed her.

Hu..? oh no...she looked back and then turned to the receptionist again, can I get his address plz.

Sure....’

Geet stood outside the quaint cottage nestled amidst lush greenery near the serene beaches of Goa. The sun was beginning its descent, casting a golden hue over the landscape, and the gentle sound of waves lapping against the shore provided a soothing backdrop. She had mustered all her courage to come here, for she wanted desperately meet the person who has stolen the sleeps of her nights with his soul voice.

Taking a deep breath to steady her nerves, Geet approached the front door. The cottage had an inviting charm with its rustic wooden facade and colorful bougainvillea climbing the walls. She knocked softly, her heart racing with anticipation.

Moments later, the door swung open, revealing one man in mid twenty with shades on his eyes, standing before her with a curious yet welcoming smile.

Yes..?

I want to meet Maan khurana...she said nervously.

Oh...come in.plz...welcome...he welcomed with pleasant smile that made geet surprised, her eyes widen in happiness as she assumed him to be MK.

Her face broke into huge smile as she walked inside happily, thank you!, she said admring the interior while both walked into seating area.

Plz sit...

Thank you, pahle aap baithiye plz...’

I will..first you take seat. Adi urged her.

Geet sat little nervous and little happy for being sit infront of her ideal. I am Geet handa. She introduced herself with full excitement.

I am fan...

Fan...would i switch on fan...? he asked

No...no....i don’t mean it...I am fan..means i am your fan.

My fan..? what did you say? He looked shocked at her.

Yes i am big fan of you..i extremely love your songs...

Songs..? he looked utterly confused now.

Your intoxicated voice has left me enchanted. ‘ she said in excited voice.

Yeah..she blushed..i know true artist don’t like to praise himself.

But i am helpless, you see....your voice has this sweet ach...’ before she could continued in her own trance, adi finally interrupted her, ek minute,.. I think you are misunderstanding here...miss.

Are you talking about MK, right? He asked.

She blushed, ‘ yeah..she nodded, and now talking with him only.

No..no..he got up hastily, MK is inside...

What!! Geet too got up in jerk, facing him with question mark on her face,

MK is in his room.

Then you...? geet was horrified.

I am his friend...’ Adi told her nervously.

Just then maan walked out singing some random song and his feet freeze on his place seeing her there, out of all places he hadn’t expected her to be here before him, in his house.

Sochenge tumhe pyar, kare ke nahin

Geet stood rooted seeing him there, both stared at each other for few minutes before maan composed himself and he greeted her with warm smile.

Jis din tum ko, dekhegi nazar

Jaane dil pe, hoga kya asar

Rakhenge tumko nigaho mein

Bhar lenge tumhe baaho mein

But she abruptly turned around, highly embarrassed for this whole situation. Her feet halted soon hearing adi’s voice as he tried to stop her, arey rukiye rukiye...ap ko MK se milna tha na...?

This is MK...and MK..this is Miss geet handa..

Maan walked with teasing smile, oh...he pretend as if he is meeting her first time.

She is my fan...' Adi said with silly smile then seeing geet’s startle look, he corrected himself, no..no.. I mean she is your fan.

I will meet you in the evening....’ he said then turned to geet, saying small hello to her he left form there leaving both of them alone.

Geet was dumbstruck, hell nervous, didn’t know what to do so she stood still...

Maan understood her plight and became polite instantly, y are you standing still...plz have a seat.

Geet turned her face away in anger...maan smile seeing her cute pout, uh...understood...you r anger is still not vanish from that day ...?

..it was only joke...I just made fun of you...

Sach batao..meine apna naam kyon nahi bataya aapko?
