They are definitely exaggerating. I mean my mother's friend has been to the US(in a group) and she said she found the people there to be quite polite. They were a stickler for rules, not cutting in lines, following traffic rules etc but she had pleasant experience.

And in any case the police/authorities can actually help Anupama in the situation she is in. She could ask for a lawyer or demand to have contact with the Indian Embassy. We live in an electronic age. She can state the flight she took to come to America and those details can be cross verified with the airlines.

I refuse to believe her visa and passport details cannot be verified by airport authorities or that the police wouldn't let her get in touch with a lawyer and instead just put her in jail

The show makers have no sense anyways. I mean Samar's murder case hearing and sentencing were all done in one episode so what else can you expect from them 🙄

I think anupama herself doesn't know that she can ask police to verify her details and crosscheck with the authorities.

I don't know why they are showing all this ki someone is jailed for taking water and all.

btw there is language barrier as well, how will she explain her situation. Anyways I don't watch the show, I just enjoy reading the updates.

vaise I seriously don't like this woman, I always wanted ki she should understand that how she behaves with people is wrong, her lectures are unwanted and no one wants to listen to her bhaashans, I once wrote in this forum only that someone should punch her on her face, but I don't know why now when she is crying like this toh I am feeling bad for her. I saw a clip that someone posted here where she was crying helplessly, after all we are human naa, everyone cannot be like Anupama who will not melt even after seeing that how someone loved and is still loving her from 26 years.

accha, is there any way by which she can explain her point? matlab she can't speak English properly, people there will find it difficult to understand her, so will she be able to tell them that what all has happened with her? koi tareeka hai kya?

Eventually the police might try to get a translator. Or at least a lawyer. And come on at least she can say I am Indian and they can contact Embassy or get someone who speaks Hindi. It's not that difficult.

But Anupama does need to co-operate with the authorities. If she's is not willing to do that she'll only be in more trouble and make things hard for herself

She can speak and explain in her Tooti Phooti Angrezi.

She ram a multi million dollar empire afterall, used to study projects and give a go ahead so am sure itni Englis to aati hogi.

Agar nahi bhi aati to Mr Goenka or that flight wali Punjabi lady will come to her rescue because she doesn’t believe in helping herself, she will fake a panic attack and start crying like a mad woman, scream and create a scene, that’s what she is capable of, enough for police to put her behind the bars

And that Desi person will be none other than Goenka ji... He will help her, fall in love with her (because of her culinary prowess, of course), and then they will start living together...

After several episodes ...

Scene 1

GOENKA JI: (enthusiastically) Anupama, my dear, we have a special guest coming for lunch today.

ANUPAMA: Accha? Kon hai woh?

GOENKA JI: Anuj, my old friend and business partner. He's been craving the "beshhht Gujarati cuisines."

ANUPAMA: No prouublem, Goenka Ji! Jo hukum

Anupama starts preparing her signature dishes - carrot cake, thepla, dhokla nu shaakh, and more. She then leaves for her workplace...the restaurant where she works as a waitress.

Scene 2

Goenka's living room:

Anuj is chatting with Goenka

Goenka's chef serves the food...

Anuj tastes the thepla...

Cue nostalgic music - "Tujhe bhul Jana jaana mumkin nahi...tu yaad na aaye Aisa koi din nahi"

Anuj: Goenka yeh khana kisne banaya?

Goenka: My live-in partner...She is amazing....

Anuj: Aisa khana mai saalo baad khaa raha hu... Last maine ...maine aisa khaana...meri anu....matlab Ahmedabad mei khaya tha...

Anuj man hi man shayari karta hai ..

After the shayari, he thinks (mann hi mann) - Mr.Goenka's live-in partner must be Anupamaa, gadhi kahin ki yahan bhi aa pahunchi. Mujhe patli gali se nikalna hoga

Aloud he says - "achha Goenka sahab, I'm getting late for a business meeting. I will take your leave"

Goenka is conphused, what happed to this idiot as soon as he tasted thepla. Aloud he says.... " arrey, aap abhi abhi aaye, humara business proposal/venture... "

Anuj cuts him off mid sentence... "Sorry, no deal. I gotta go!" rushes off and cuts all ties with Goenka too.
