it's not yet confirmed they were rumoured to produce the next installments of the triology but so far there have been no confirmations

I don’t know. Could be lots of reasons. Tax write offs. They may just release it directly in their streaming platforms and want ownership of it. They might have gotten something else in return from Ayan it Ranbir as part of a business deal. Or all this could just be for show and headlines and they never actually make parts 2 and 3. Time will tell.
