I personally like Pinga more. Coz of its simplicity and whole background. PC won it fair n square.

Dola re is to tam-jham extravaganza. No one can match Madz fluidity and grace in dance. Aish hands and neck movements are so robotic. Especially her neck.. itna kadak kar leti hai. I can’t look past that.


Can’t stand Karishma. If Kareena is over acting ki dukaan.. Karishma is over acting ka godown. Especially her hilariously hammy acting as Nisha. Dance of envy mein idhar se udhar uchhal rahi thi.
Madz stole it with her grace and fluid body movements!!

Absolutely spot on..Karishma can’t even touch madhuri in 100 yrs where dancing is concerned..aa simple aa that..the way karishma danced in dance of envy..every second background dancer of shyamak davar group dances like that but where will get the grace, adayein n beauty which Madhuri…no one can have it..

I think Sridevi and Jayaprada also had dance off type sequence in some old film with Rajesh Khanna or Jeetu

Dance of envy is not Lolo..its face iff between madhuri n lolo..baaki jo bhi gaano mein lolo ne akele dance kiya..no one remembers those songs..madhuri brought class n emotions to that song

Lolo is one of few who was able to match steps and energy with Govinda. Her songs were hits too.

She may not be remembered for dance like MD nor did she market herself as aggressively as others did but she was a decent dancer and did all sorts of songs well.

Lolo was at her peak and prime when she did DTPH which came right after successes of Raja Hindustani, Jeet, Saajan Chale Sasural, Coolie no.1 etc.

She had new found confidence after her makeover and hits and an ATBB like Raja Hindustani.

She was younger and fitter.

Madhuri was older and clearly looked misfit and miscast for a youth film like DTPH and too mature for a dreamy girl role like Pooja. She was in her 30s or so then and her films were beginning to flop, do less well, her career was on wane then. Kajol, Lolo were overtaking her clearly by late 90s. It is no surprise a younger and fitter Lolo looked more energetic than Madhuri and fitted urban youth role better compared to MD. Madhuri had more flops post that. DTPH did nothing to save her career tbh. Her only major hit after DTPH is Devdas where she played a supporting role.

Also, Karishma is supposed to be jealous and have resentment so her energy was more fiery and she did nail her role perfectly
