Which films can suit other actors besides original cast? - Page 2

Aamir would have suited the obsessed lover role in Darr even much better then the over acting of SRK, keeping in mind his national award nomination performance in a dark role in his very second movie Raakh and a similar role in earth 1947.

Aamir would have added more layers and depth to that character of Darr contrary to the shallow depiction by SRK who just appeared to be a maniac with loads of over the top acting without understanding the character.

The original choice of Baazigar Salman would be a really interesting Choice at that time transitioning from a true lover boy chocolate hero of Maine pyar Kiya, baaghi, Sanam bewafa and saajan to a full blown negative vengeful character.

Also with that utmost innocent face of his in early 90s he would have generated a lot more sympathy for his character compared to a shrewd & cunning looking SRK, and when committing the murder of Shilpa Sherry he would have shocked the audience much more then SRK with those innocent looks and an image of a lover boy, shock value that is the main essence of any thriller.

Yes totally. I heard Bhansali was inspired by Madhubala when he designed character of Mastani.

Young Madhubala would have aced that role to the T.

Younger Aish for Padmaavat man that would be the best casting ever..I still keep thinking what BM would be with Salman-Aish and Padmaavat with Aish as well..damn that was such a missed opportunity..I just dint buy DP's act in either of the two movies..or even her styling for that matter..nope dint work for me.

Deepika or actors of today look too modern to pass off as historical personalities and look obviously misfit or look like playing dress up in a costume drama.

Deepika was weak in both BM and Padmavat.

Other actors overshadowed her for a reason.

Her dialogue delivery and monotone voice also kill the vibe.

Her red bloodshot eyes in BM ruined the film. She also lacked expressions and ada required for songs like Mohe rang do.

Speaking of miscast, Akshay Kumar was horribly miscast in Samrat Prithviraj.😵 A younger actor would've been a better choice. Sidharth Malhotra in Thank You was also a miscast. Ayushmaan Khurana would've done justice to that role.

All 3 leads in the upcoming Adipurush also look heavily miscast.🐷
I would've picked Dulqueer Salman as Ram, Kiara Advani as Sita and Ishaan Khattar as Laxman

I also would've preferred Ranveer Singh in Sidhant Chaturvedi's role in Gehraaiyan. It was painful to watch Siddhant opposite Deepika, he looked like a chapri opposite her. He single-handedly brought the whole film down for me. It would've been interesting to see a real life couple like Ranveer-Deepika playing cheater-lovers in that film.

Other actors that would've elevated these roles had they played them :-

Aish as Zara in Veer Zara, Aish as Mastani in Bajirao Mastani (She was apparently the original choice for both films by their respective directors)

Deepika in Katrina's role in Jab Tak Hai Jaan (its another thing that it was an overall bad film)

Ranveer in Arjun's role in Ki and Ka

Kangana in Anushka's roles in Sultan and NH10.👍🏼

Neena Gupta/Deepti Naval//Supriya Pathak etc in Saand Ki Aankh👍🏼

Alia in Taapsee's role in Haseen Dilruba

A young Vidya or Tabu in Alia's role in Gangubai

Aish would've been good in Padmavat too, if it was made during her prime years.

Shahid was also miscast in Padmavat btw. His role has nothing much to do so I guess Sidharth Malhotra would've manager his role. He at least would've looked like a royal rajput prince.

A north eastern actress instead of Priyanka in Mary com. She didn't looked north eastern at all.

Saif ali khan instead of salman khan in race 3 though whole movie and star cast was really bad.

Any other actress over annoying Sonam in khoobsurat.

Akshay Kumar in bhool bhulaiya 2 instead of kartik. I don't understand how that boring movie got hit.

Any better actor instead of jhanvi and ishan in sairat remake.

Deepika Padukone instead of Nargis Fakhiri in Rockstar

Any Punjabi actress instead of Giselli Monteiro in love Aaj kal 1 . That girl can't do Punjabi dance at all.

Bobby deol looks so tacky in dostana in front of Abhishek and John. Any other handsome actor.

Priyanka Chopra instead of Katrina Kaif in Raajneeti.

Ranveer Singh or Hrithik as Ashoka instead of SRK.

They could have cast an actress who looked a little less Indian than Madhubala. Maybe a young Saira Banu?

I don't think we had any actresses back then who would fit the half-Rajput-half-Persian bit.

Adi Purush looks like a hot mess since the day it was announced 😆

Imo for such a film casting should not be based on stardom, but on how well any actor fits the role.

Just like what Ramanand Sagar did with the TV show...and how Marvel did up till Phase 3 for their movies.

No one from the current gen would be able to do justice to it.
