Shilpa Shinde admits sexual harassment case against Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain Producer was false

Actor Shilpa Shinde recently reunited with the makers of Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain after almost a decade. The actress reprised her popular role of Angoori Bhabhi, marking a new chapter after her highly publicised fallout with the show's makers years ago.

During a recent podcast with Bharti Singh and Harssh Limbachiyaa, Shilpa spoke about the events that led to her exit from the show. The actress became emotional while recalling the difficult phase and shared details about the issues she faced at the time.

According to Shilpa, the makers asked her to sign an exclusive contract. She explained that the contract would not have allowed her to work elsewhere. However, she clarified that her concern was not about working on other projects, as television schedules generally leave little room for additional work.

Shilpa stated that her main issue was the level of control the contract would have given the makers over her professional decisions. She claimed that the agreement would not only restrict her from taking up other opportunities but would also prevent her from negotiating her remuneration. Because of these conditions, she chose not to sign the contract.

The actress further revealed that events took an unexpected turn after she refused to agree to the terms. She shared that her scheduled ten-day shoot was suddenly completed within just two days. Following that, she was allegedly informed that she did not need to report to the set from the next day.

When she sought answers regarding the decision, Shilpa said she was not given any clear explanation. Soon after, reports of her exit from the show began appearing in the media.

Shilpa Says The Situation Took A Toll On Her Mental Health

Speaking about the period that followed, Shilpa described the actions as attempts to intimidate her. However, she maintained that she was not afraid of the situation. According to the actress, she eventually decided to leave the show herself after being told that she would be made to sit at home.

During the conversation, Shilpa also criticised the producers' association, describing it as a "white-collar mafia." She also spoke about the involvement of the artists' association, CINTAA, and claimed that its role in the matter was unfair.

Despite the challenges, Shilpa said she continued to fight because she believed she had done nothing wrong. However, the pressure of the situation gradually affected her. She recalled dealing with allegations, claims, and continuous stress, all of which eventually had an impact on her mental health.

The actress revealed that, as the pressure increased, she chose a different approach to address the situation.

The actress concluded by stating that the issues between her and the makers have now been resolved. According to Shilpa, things are currently fine on both sides, which is why she was able to reunite with the team and return to the show after nearly a decade.
