About the marrying tree thing, it doesn’t always have to be a tree. It happens only if a person is Manglik.. and among North Indians esp along Brahmins, they will not marry if the Kundli doesn’t match. I don’t know why it’s a shock to you.

Aish is a Brahmin too. Bachans are half Kayasth & Punjabis. Kayasth people are educated and patriarchal in general but it’s generally Brahmins who are more into astrology and very ritualistic. There is more chance that it was from her side than his.

My Brahmin friend legit married four times (once to a matka, a court marriage, a real marriage, an arya samaj wedding) she had a to make her marriage more pucca as it has a strong yog for separation in her Kundli. She’s not being suppressed and no one in her family is oppressive or anything. People just don’t want to take any chances. They are not even religious in general.

The kanyadan comment was in general; if the bachans believe in such stuff let them be. They should not promote such beliefs but it’s their personal life if they want to follow such things.

He rightfully got backlash and several articles were written on how he omitted mothers and grandmothers from his letter. Ironically he would have been nowhere in acting if his mom Teji had no interest in drama and did not take him along to perform with her on stage and did not use her friendship with Indira Gandhi to get personalised recommendation letter from her asking producers to consider casting Amitabh in films. But he did not mention her or Jaya in his open letter to Navya.

There is nothing wrong with having to make compromises for family or yield to family pressure especially if your career is not doing that good anymore anyway.

I am not holding anything against Ash. It's her in laws who are AHEM AHEM.

Amitabh also does not get along with his younger brother and his family.

It's all about him as sole thekedaar of his dad's legacy. Domineering, overbearing megalomaniac patriarch.

Upay maybe personal beliefs but atleast they can be done without letting anyone know about it unlike Ash who was paraded in public and became a subject of jokes then. It must have been humiliating as Sr Bachchan did not ensure privacy for her during upay, totke he made her do.

As for his real life cases and crimes, he deserved to be jailed given gravity of his offences. Amused how Salman gets more flak than this man. Probably because his cases happened in 80s when there was no media.

I think many celebs are huge on astrology.

But among Brahmins, it's a hard and fast rule for most; especially from UP side. Many of my Brahmin friends got stuck due to chart not matching.

I found an article, says Aish's father asked Amitabh's brother to meet some astrologer. I think both families wanted it to be done.
