Thing is anu had been submissive for 25 years in her sasural. She was conditioned to be submissive and also was convinced that she is not worthy enough to be loved. Simple put we all know shr had been treated like a slave for 25 yrs by her own husband.

I have seen anupamaa previous epis too. So i know why anu needs this push from bapuji .

It is not like she is waiting for their permission to move forward in her life. It is more like a guidance.
