Yes, they should have shown Ishqi as well educated career oriented girl. This was the main part of the story and their conflict. It would be okay if Ishqi was being Sarla's assistant only to complete her course/postgraduation.

She became marketing manager which was good. They should have told more about her education, qualifications and job pre leap. I hope the waitress thing is just temprory or they can show good career progress like Penny (TBBT) or Rachel (friends) for her.

but not through ahaan's kingdom xD ... yeh specify krdete h. kalko kisi ne padh ke show mein ishqi ko ahaan ke under kaam krta hua dikha diya toh

she should get it bcuz she deserves it

This is so true!!

the promo was all about Ahan saying he doesn't want a working woman and Ishqi criticizing and making fun of him for that. So the whole premise is based on Ishqi being a working woman. While promo itself never interested me much as I thought there is again going to be a MCP male lead who hates woman and degrades them blah blah😆 but looking at it I also thought she would be very ambitious with a very well established career and probably even a very busy life but a girl who would value family a lot.

But in the serial, we don't even know what her qualification is, what profession she is in, what job does she have, whether she even has one anymore🤣

Not saying any profession or work is inferior but based on the theme of the show I expected the FL to be very well educated and even speaking high fi english, very high paying job etc, again not degrading any job but all these traits would have gone with stereotype Ahaan believed😆

That promo's concept would have made sense if Ishqi is in a position where she has a choice to do a job or not and is doing so because she is interested in it. Here, Ishqi's financial situation is such that she has to do a job. That doesn't help in driving home the point that the promo was trying to make. Even someone with the thinking that Ahaan or daadi have would agree that there is nothing wrong with Ishqi working since she is the breadwinner of the family; she doesn't have any male relatives to depend on.

but ishqi also mentioned that even if she is getting married to rich person like mayank, she would take her own financial responsibility and continue to do job. So that is okay.

But yes, they should never show ishqi working for Ahaan. It would negate everything they are trying to show.

Irony is Gul keep posting feminism and women empowerment post in her story but never dare to portray them in her shows....having female character with weak financials give scope for mundane tracks in iTV shows otherwise would be a cliche to show financially weak male characters as will not have hi-fi introductory openings for them neither can have superior beliefs then the female character.....

So true🤣 I haven't watched QH 2 but in general Gul heroines don't have any strong career😒 I wonder why🤔 heroes are mostly filthy rich with a bad past and mostly angry young men, and FLs are poor, don't know English, mostly work for hero and get insulted. Why can't she just show a well educated well to do and a career oriented FL? Atleast it would have suited the premise of this show

BTW how is QH2?

I think most of the audience for these kind of shows are young girls, who like to see a filthy rich prince kind of good looking guy falling in love with a relatable girl. They have a sad past or flaws in their personality which the girl helps overcome. All of us girls probably like to fantasise (maybe not even on a very conscious level) that we can reform this guy, make him fall deeply in love.. a guy who did not believe in love.

We may not even particularly like the lead but we are drawn to such men/boys IRL. But that doesn’t exist.. because we usually don’t find someone who cares for us or is romantic like in movies..maybe we do but people in real life, they can’t fulfil all our dreams, these kind of shows and leads are just another mode escapism. And that’s ok. We can enjoy a silly female lead with lack of ambition and an arrogant self absorbed rich guys , it’s ok 😆

As for rest of the shows..

  1. I think the only female lead that was success oriented along with being virtuous/ almost flawless on Indian Television was Sandhya in Diya or Baati. Even though the show was mostly about ( I hated the show but ended up watching some episodes with my grandmother).
  2. Maya - shown to be successful but is a psychopath.
  3. I don’t remember the name of the tv show, but it was about two sister who were MBAs from IIMs, and their mother only wanted them to get married to the richest and bestest of guys.. like WTF 😆
  4. There was another one, meri aawaz ko mil gayi roshni, where the FL had come to Mumbai to become a singer but it all went haywire and it became a love triangle and God knows what not 🤪
  5. There were few shows on Sony set, Patiala babes and there was another show my mom used to watch .. it was something about local train and 3 women (one of them ran a business).. they made sense to me, didn’t follow them much though!
