Anu gave the second highest number of songs in the entire 90s decade...although imo his were more misses than hits and he did memorable albums post Border.

The Top 5 composers of 90s are:

Anand-Milind : a whooping 1055 songs! 😲 Plus 88 if u add 1990 to the list, bringing the total to 1163...damn! (although not focussing on the 1990 number to keep a fair comparison)

Anu Mallik : 732 songs

Bappi Lahiri : 570 songs...phew even the Disco King did huge volume of work!

Nadeem-Shravan : 534 songs

Laxmikant-Pyarelal : 435 songs...my god they made their mark in the 90s too.

The only ones left to call from this list are Anand-Milind and Shravan Rathod.

Ya.. Thats what. 90s was Anu Malik's most successful period.. He fizzled away after that. Of course he wasnt the best composer then but did well..

That was the most melodious decade with LP, anand milind and nadeem shravan, jatin lalit..

Even a funky composer like Anu managed some melody😃

I always felt Anu was a mix of Anand-Milind and Nadeem-Shravan. Normally I can figure out every composer's songs but the minute I hear something that's like half NS and half AM, I know its Anu.

Jatin-Lalit did not get too many hit films out of the YRF-Dharma camp, unfortunately their songs are remembered as KJo/SRK/Kajol etc's songs.

Viju Shah was yet another composer who did very little work but almost all his songs are memorable...now that's a feat in itself.

These three have to be called now...Anand-Milind, Viju Shah and Shravan Rathod. I have seen the first two on Times of Music and they are pretty smart and witty...still got the charm in them.
