Rahul was super successful and the pride of his parents because he might have been aware of the fact that he was adopted and thus wanted to compensate by being perfect.
It might have been the first that he displeased his father and so he didn't know how to react and simply removed himself from Yash's sight.
Even the fact that Rahul didn't touch Yash's feet but the soil he walked on showed us that he now felt unworthy as it was the first time Yash had brought up the fact that he was adopted.

Movies are supposed to entertain and this one is entertaining....
It's a one-time watch acc. to me. Never found the inclination to revisit it. As for entertaining, I find movies like ENGLISH VINGLISH and Wake Up Sid entertaining. There's no one-size-fits-all approach.
