Poo's desperateness to fit in and be the most popular girl goes back to her teasing at the hands of Rohan and his posh school friends. Never again. She must have vowed to herself. Her initial fascination with Rohan also has partly to do with that incident. She's superficial but you don't hate her once you know where she coming from.

You know, as horriblly ott as she was in the movie, I don't think it's all that bad. Her character was meant to be ott, she was meant to be loud and obnoxious. And like it or not, her lines and character has become iconic.

Have seen OTT characters like Sharpay and Regina George but Poo in no way was nearly as fierce. Bebo just played herself and even then she looked like she was a doing a parody of stereotypical Queen Bee of College. In fact that whole movie is unbearable to watch.

Regina George isn't OTT. There really are girls very much like her in high schools here. Some even worse. One of the big reasons why Mean Girls struck such a chord was because of how realistic high school culture is depicted. As Tina Fey said "young people watch it like a reality show." It hits close to home.

Sharpay I agree is a bit OTT. But High School Musical is very campy so she fits in that realm.

Kareena technically WAS doing a parody if you put it that way, there is absolutely nothing realistic about Poo or her acting as Poo. She's actually playing an extension of KJo, not herself, as stated by both multiple times. The character and her acting are supposed to be OTT.

Her character was supposed to be OTT! And she did a brilliant job 🔥

Her acting made the character of Poo memorable. It's been 19 years and people still love Poo!
