Who deserved the best debut more for 2008: Anushka or Asin?

I think Anushka's role in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was more complex and layered than Asin's goody-two shoes role in Ghajini. No doubt Asin was good, but Anushka was better IMO. Also, wasn't Asin already an established actress down South?

Asim's winning was weird not because she was an established actress in South.. Dhanush too won after all.. but hers was weirder because Ghajini was a remake of her own movie😆 Matlab she literally played her own character again 😆

Anushka was good In Ran ne but I don't remember other debutants that year to have an opinion on who deserved it better

It was literally just these two competing against each other. There were no other well-recognized faces or acts.

Anushka was too bitter about losing this filmfare award till before few yrs. She constantly made dig at asin back then

Asin, Anushka, Sonal Chauhan, Prachi Desai and Adah Sharma were nominated.

I guess it was a close call between Anushka, Asin, and Prachi.

I think Mugdha should have won. She was the best among the lot

Asin was the best followed by Mugdha

Anushka didn't even deserve a nomination. She was pathetic in her debut just like Deepika. But being an SRK heroine has it's own privileges.

Adah Sharma from 1920 deserved the most from any other act! **** bollywood for not recognizing such talent. She is now settled in south which doesn't have that much recognition as compared to Bollywood. Sad!

Its not easy to portray such characters because it may become funny. But this performance was such that I could see fear and situation in her character and it made us(the audience) fear too from her. She was the life of that movie.

I was scared for days from that movie.

The best debut in 2008 was by Richa Chadda. Anushka and Asin are useless in front of her.
