Let it be closed for 2021 also. I don't think it's effecting normal people that much. We are more concerned about our health, job in this period. Entertainment is not priority at this moment.

People working in movie theatres are some super humans kya? Single screen theatres across India are shutting down every single month with no income for the last six months. There are estimates that if theatres don't reopen then by the year end all single screen theatres will shut shop. Also many other businesses are dependent on theatres so they are also getting affected. Like you are concerned about job, so are the people who are in this business who haven't received salary due to no income for the last 6 months.
Major chunk of theatre business come from mumbai delhi pune and other top cities.and sadly these are the most covid affected area.even if they open in small cities.it will be of no use.but hopefully theatres will open from diwali onwards.TENET will be first movie to release post lockdown in india
Open air theatres will open from sept. 21
Indoor with limited capacity would from Oct 1
It doesn't make sense to close them, when everything else is open.

Let me tell you most of the people are changing jobs. For example, someone who used to have a saree shop in our area, due to lockdown that uncle has chosen to sell vegetables now. So, if they can change their jobs, then everyone can. Now the point is if anyone wants to do that or not. But I won't risk my health to watch any movies. Sorry but a big NO! So, people who're in the entertainment business, have to do that too. And you can't ask people to risk their health just to save the jobs of people working in the movie theatre.
Doesn't make any sense when gyms can be open but not theatres.

I am not telling you to go to a theatre to watch a film. I am only pointing out the part in your comment where you said shutting down of theatres is not affecting normal people.People who are working in theatres are very much normal like the rest of us and are getting affected like we all are. Also about changing jobs- easier said than done. The person you are talking about is self employed. Most employees working in theatres are not. And these theatres are in cities, not villages. It's a completely different scenario since living in a city spending your own money is wayy more harder than living in a village.
People have been finding alternate job options. I recently met a cinema usher working at a grocery store and he's pretty much okay with it. He said that him and his colleagues have also been working online for some extra income.
Obviously they need their source of income but from what he told me, the staff doesn't want to risk their health. COVID's causing deaths and these people also have a family to take care of...if anything were to happen to them who'd take responsibility of their family?
