It's not just the celebrities... This has been the trend for most upper middle class/rich families... I had a family friend whose child coudnt speak hindi at all because their parents kept speaking to him in English....

I think Saif himself is not even comfortable speaking Hindi. Bebo is pretty comfortable though

Completely agree with you!

Many of my cousins have migrated to US or U.K. 15 yrs back.. all their kids born & brought up abroad know to converse only in English!

Yaar even in India!

I'm pretty sure English would've been Saif's first language. Earlier it was only the rich. Then upper middle class. Today even middle class speaks to their children in English.

this is no excuse. our family migrated to north america in the late 60s, all of us cousins that are born in north america can speak our mother tongue. not only that, we are passing it on to our second generation north american born kids.

and its not just our family, majority of our family friends are in the same boat.

i wish we indians could get rid of this mentality that speaking english means prestige. our languages are so rich, our culture is so rich, our history....everything!
