Casting change led to Vir Hirani’s debut

Interestingly, Vir Hirani was not originally planned as the lead for the series. Rajkumar Hirani, known for directing blockbuster films such as ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’, ‘3 Idiots’, and ‘Sanju’, had initially cast Vikrant Massey for the young officer role. However, due to casting changes, Massey stepped away from the project. The report explained how the opportunity eventually came to Vir: “Vir wasn’t supposed to be launched with ‘Pritam Pedro’. But during casting changes, Hirani felt Vir could fit in as a young tech geek.
