The coronavirus excuse seems like such a copout because the Baaghi 3 advance tickets are selling like hot cakes simultaneously. This movie had a very small base to begin with and it seems that was saturated. But if it's indeed the coronavirus fear to throw people off then damn movies releasing this month may be effed, particularly Baaghi 3?! Can't even postpone with a few days to go.

Man talk about some seriously shitty, shitty timing and luck eh. I get it! Health comes first and foremost. Baaghi 3 and the following movies this month like Angrezi Medium etc are gonna take some massive losses in theatrical revenue in this pandemic state of mind. Things might deescalate a bit by the time Sooryavanshi, 83 release?!?! Let's see how it plays out now in India.

Thappad collected 2 crore nett apprx on Tuesday which is similar to Monday but the collections of the film are low and it seems to fighting a losing battle. The only hope is that it stays at these levels till Thursday and then has a minimal drop on the second Friday when Baaghi 3 releases. Even if this somehow happens and it gets a 10 crore nett plus second week it can still only be average.

The problem is that the occupancy is low across the country on the weekdays and the film has been rejected and when that happens its just getting the best numbers possible and a respectable final total. The first week business of the film looks to be heading towards 21 crore nett which is 20% lower than the first week of Chhapaak. The five day collections of the film till date are as follows.

Friday - 2,75,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 4,75,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 6,25,00,000 apprx

Monday - 2,00,00,000 apprx

Tuesday - 2,00,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 17,75,00,000 apprx

0% drop from Monday to Tuesday despite Coronavirus scare. Good indicator.

Thappad Drops On Day Six

Thappad dropped 10% on its first Wednesday as it collected 1.75 crore nett. It is a normal drop for Wednesday and actually maybe better than normal for a Wednesday but the problem is that the film cannot really afford to have any drops.

The film needed to hold out in the 2 crore nett range on the weekdays till Thursday to have an outside chance of success and now that is out of the window. The film has yet to reach 20 crore nett after six days and has collected 19.50 crore nett so far. The week should finish at 21.50 crore nett which is lower than Chhapaak (26.23 crore) but better than Panga (15.25 crore). It makes the second best performer of this family and being second best of a dud family is hardly an achievemnet. The six day collections of the film till date are as follows.

Friday - 2,75,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 4,75,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 6,25,00,000 apprx

Monday - 2,00,00,000 apprx
