She was driven by her love for the country when she decided to enter Pakistan as a spy but by the end of the film she was tired and gave up after losing all hope since she realized there's nothing good that comes out of war and destruction and that all we need is peace. That's why the film was less jingoistic and patriotic and more a comment on war and the repurcusions it brings into humanity. She lost her husband who was the closest to her in times where she lost her father and literally everbody. She took away two lives only because they would find out that she is a spy and not because they were waging war at that time. She was a part of the plan that caused a bomb blast leading to the loss of innocent, common citizens and her husband. So no, the film is MUCH more than mere patriotism that you would find in a film like Uri. It is a commentary that no matter whatever governments at both sides decide and wage war, the only people who pay the price involuntarily are common people.

Abey that is why I'm apppauding Meghana. That she didn't fall under the pressure of 'chaati peetne wali' patriotism and showed everything with subtlety.Because in today's times, unless you chaati peetke don't prove your patriotism saying BMKJ, you are not considered patriotic.

I guess that’s why there were rumors that he made it all up and there was no Sehmat.

I have no doubt there are spies entering and exiting both countries.

But pak army personnel are not allowed to marry ANY foreign national let alone an Indian that too in times of war. Hell, even in regular days a civilian marring an Indian and trying to move her to Pakistan won’t be an easy task.

I have read interviews of that guy, keeping in mind his changing statements AND this visa issue thing. I have a feeling he is making up a lot of stuff.

Also he said now he’s writing a book on section 370 with sehmat as his inspiration. Sehmat passed away before 370... how is he making her the inspiration... he sounds like someone trying to cash in on nationalism and a bit of jingoism. Which is why he wasn’t happy by meghnas treatment of the movie

Raazi was as patriotic as Uri.

To state the obvious.

They've both played on the nationalistic, patriotic feelings to get 'bums on seats'- let's not kid ourselves.

Author may have a point, but it's a bit late for this.

Only horny girls/queers do wah wah on hrithik's muscles. I find the whole trend pathetic.

And yes crying like a little ..... Is not acting. It is just ugly.

The war was not waged by two sides, it was started by Pakistan. Pakistan was massacring innocents in Bangladesh (east P) and India has no choice but to intervene. Also, Indian Army's backbone would've been broken had it not been for Sehmat. INS Viraat would've sunk and army men would've been killed. Would anyone have preferred that instead? Or should we have stood by and let Pakistan butcher Bangladeshis? Some unspeakable war crimes were committed in 1971 war by the 'Khan Sena', which could only be stopped by India-trained Mukti Bahini and spy intelligence.

The two people Sehmat killed weren't exactly innocent lambs, they were complicit in the hideous war crimes carried out by the Pak Army in Bangladesh. Sehmat's guilt is understandable since she wasn't a cold-blooded killer or trained to kill, but let's not vilify her work since it was for the greater good.
