Originally VIVEK was chosen but He had problems with Rani post 'Saathiya'. Reports are RANI showed too much tantrums during shoot. Vivek too had an attitude by then, so during shooting of Saathiya there were too much clash of egos.

When Hum Tum was narrated to Vivek, he was interested on doing it but when he found out Rani was the actress. He turned it down.
