sum info about him
He had a normal childhood, like most other children. He graduated from HR College, with a B.Com degree. At his father's insistence, he has been very focused on his career since he was in the 12th standard. He did a 4-month workshop with Kishore Namit Kapoor and also at Anupam Kher's institute, during vacations. He also assisted Aditya Chopra in his movie 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge', when he was in college. He did receive offers as a lead actor earlier, but as he did not want to debut with a love story, he chose to wait. Then Sriram offered him a movie - he was impressed with the script, which demanded an ensemble cast.
He has always wanted to be an actor. It has been his childhood dream. He has also worked in Yash Raj's movie 'Vijay' and Vimal Kumar's 'Jaise Karni Wiasi Bharni' as a child artiste when he was around 4 years old. When he played the role of Govinda as a child in 'Jaise Karni Waise Bharni', he was appreciated more than Govinda and that left an impression on his mind. If he had become a singer, people would have expected a lot more from him because of his father and grandfather.

Welcome to the 53rd Fair One Filmfare Awards 2007 tonight.
Neil Nitin Mukesh, excited to be at his first Filmfare Awards function, is doing the title track of his Johnny Gaddar and Move The Body from the same film. "I have always watched the Filmfare Awards from afar, to be a part of it now is an honour for me," he said. And, finally, Vivek Oberoi, who will remind the audience of Aye Ganpat from Shootout at Lokhandwala. "I'm excited, the song's one of my favourites, but it's done here in a very different and fantastic way," he revealed. As for Himeshbhai, he will say Aasalum Waleum, so be sure to reply Walekaum Salam!
The dances have been choreographed by Shiamak Davar while Manish Malhotra has designed the costumes worn by Kareena and Deepika and Narendra Kumar those for Neil and Vivek. Sabina Khan has dressed up Akshay.
Neil Nitin Mukesh steals the show on Amul Star Voice of India - Chhote Ustaad, Friday, March 7th, 10 p.m.
MUMBAI: Yet another musical treat from Star Plus is knocking at the door this weekend. Emotions are at its height as all the contestants & judges showcase the emotional theme of 'Bidaai'. But despite the episode being a tearjerker, the surprise celebrity guest ensures that all are smiling and enjoying the music. Neil Nitin Mukesh steals the show on the Friday episode as his presence sets the perfect mood for the evening and encourages the contestants to perform their best.
The performances of the contestants strike an emotional chord for all the judges β Kunal Ganjawal, Pritam Chakroborthy and Shreya Ghosal. For the first time, the judges are seen reliving many poignant memories related to the theme. The pahari dragon Prakriti sings a very touchy song 'Babul jo tumne sikhaya'. Neil became really emotional as Prakriti sang and recalls the day that his sister got married since the same song was sung at her wedding. Sweet Soniya sings to the tunes of 'Likhnewale ne likh dale'. The only boy in the all-girls gang, Vyom Kapoor, sings 'Chalo doli uthao'. His day was made when Neil asked Vyom if he would sing for him in the future.
These songs remind Pritam & Kunal about their sister's marriage and how much they miss their presence. Pritam said that he and his elder sister used to fight like cats and dogs and that he sobbed endlessly when she got married. Kunal recollected the way his sister, who's now in the US, used to complain to his mother saying that their mother loved Kunal more. Shreya Ghoshal sings 'Ab ke baras bhej bhaiyya ko babul', but breaks down in the middle as she's unable to control her emotions. She's requests the Chhote Ustaad participants not to forget her and to always stay in touch with her. To add on to the heart wrenching evening, Anwesha sings 'Yeh galiyan yeh chaubara' and Aishwariya leaves everyone awestruck with the wonderful melody 'Agle janam mohe bitiya na kijo'.
These performances by the 'little wonders' has Neil Nitin Mukesh completely enthralled and mesmerized. The proud parents of the Chhote Ustaads' also contribute to make this Friday evening an emotional and a memorable musical night for all.
Last bite: with Neil Nitin Mukesh
A Few weeks ago, on my birthday, I went out to Kareem's in Delhi. It's a typical north-Indian noisy eatery frequented by people who love eating. I can still smell the strong aroma of that day's chicken. The butter chicken and roomali rotis there are to die for.
What made it really special was that I went there with my sister and brother-in-law and had a great time. We had a corner to ourselves and we didn't have to scream to be heard. A good meal over great conversation made it perfect.
At home, my parents are vegetarians, so I eat non-vegetarian food outside. Every meal is simply mind-blowing. I am quite a home-food freak. Our maharaj has been with us for many years now.
Katrina-Neil paired together in the Yash Raj film
March 13, 2008 - 15:50 IST
Katrina Kaif may have lost the chance to be one of Ranbir's leading ladies in Yash Raj Films' Bachna Ae Haseenon. But the lady, currently sizzling with Saif Ali Khan in the promos of Race, didn't have to wait long for Yash Raj to make amends. Katrina has now been signed to star opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh in Kabir Khan's untitled film which also stars John Abraham in a pivotal role.
Without giving away much detail about the project Neil says, "Kabir made a very unusual film Kabul Express for Yash Raj earlier. This time, he's going all-out to make a commercial film. I think Katrina and I will make a striking pair." Katrina who's paired with Ranbir Kapoor in Raj Kumar Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani seems to be getting into the let's-get-young mode. All her earlier films are primarily with the 40-plus Salman Khan, Govinda and Akshay Kumar. Now she's finally working with co-stars nearer her own age.
Laughs Neil, "I wouldn't know about that. My bonding so far has been with John. I really get along with him. He's so funny and entertaining. Somehow he reminds me of Dharamji (Dharmendra) with whom I did my first film Johnny Gaddaar. The same towering personality and physique and a heart of gold."
Let's hope the initial camaraderie lasts through the film. Considering what happened to John's dosti with Arshad Warsi during Kabir Khan's Kabul Express, one wonders if the seedha-sadha Neil would be singing the same tune by the time he and John finish shooting together.
Isn't it a disadvantage for Neil to start his career with two arty films like Sriram Raghavan's Johnny Gaddaar and Sudhir Mishra's Tera Kya Hoga Johnny? "I think the two Johnny films are very different in mood. Tera Kya⦠is funny episodic film where me, Soha Ali Khan, Kay Kay Menon and Karan Nath are four characters who meet this child, played by Sikandar. It's masala of a different kind. It even has an item song by Chitrangada now." Sure, we can see queues clamouring to get in to see Chitrangada wriggle on the dance floor.
"But Freeze is out-and-out commercial, glamorous, glossy and sexy," Neil brightens up. Ando, he isn't called Johnny in Freeze.
