Whys Akbar so negative?

I do not understand why Akbars so much negative about Salim?

Akbar was a great king. He was brave, strong, courageous and wise. He thought before acting and took into account the consequences of his actions and words before he did or said anything. With his abilities, he was able to conquer a huge part of India and become the emperor.

He expected Salim to be similar, a mirror image of him. He constantly tried to look for the same qualities that he has. Unfortunately he is not seeing Salim show those qualities. Akbar doesn't know the truth behind a lot of Salim's actions. He doesn't know that Salim was incited by Daniyal and Murad to face the tiger without any weapon. He thinks that Salim acted rashly and foolishly by jumping into that arena. He fears that what if he was late or the tiger had attacked Salim. Every such act of Salim like getting lost in that labyrinth or getting drunk on the throne created more doubt in Akbar's mind regarding Salim's abilities.

Add to that is Salim's confusion regarding his position and being. Even when he was a child he was told that he was the "crown prince. So what ever he desired, he could have. That no one could say no to him or reject him. Based on this guideline when he asked that Anarkali be considered as his "friend, he was told that is not possible. No one really took time to explain why it was not possible. On one hand Jodha was ready to indulge him and humor him saying Anarkali was his friend. On the other hand, Akbar and Hamida tried to force the ideology of the status difference. Added to that was his anger regarding the "injustice about his banishment.

When Salim came back, Akbar expected Salim to have understood the difference between a king and servant. He expected a certain behavior and maturity from Salim. But Salim at that time was driven by anger. He behaved not as how a sensible crown prince behaves. Anytime Akbar tried to extend his hand to reach Salim, Salim inadvertently pushed Akbar away. And again with each of Salim's acts, Akbar is losing confidence in his abilities. Akbar feels that he is still seeing the same behavior in Salim that he saw in him as a child. He is seeing Salim as impulsive and irresponsible, same as what he saw him as when he was a child. He is wondering if Salim is capable of becoming the next emperor. If Salim can take his place. He is worried that the kingdom might not survive if Salim continues to act the way he is doing. As an emperor he feels it is his responsibility of making sure that the right person sits on the throne after him. Which in turn is making him judge Salim severely.
