Author's note:
Hi Guys!!! I am extremely sorry for the late update. My life is so hectic right now. I am almost done with school and yet my teachers are deciding to pile me up with school work AND on top of that, I am trying to get a job at the same time. But anyways, I will try my best to update a chapter a week. Thanks for reading 😊

Chapter 3- The Deal
Avni stood there looking at me with shock and repressed anger in her eyes. While my mom looked happy, confused, and shocked. She had probably recognized Avni's name, which had caused her to say.
"Avni Ayesha as in Neela's daughter right?
Which Avni had replied with,
"Yes. You know my mom?"
"Of course. Neela and I are college friends. We went to your house a few months back. You weren't there though."
"Wait, you are Sweta Khanna?"
"Yep. But beta how come you weren't there?"
"Woh-actually Aunty. I had an extremely important case that day. And I was just informed that we found evidence saying my client was innocent even though he was being evicted for a crime he didn't do. I didn't want to send an innocent man to jail. "
"No problem beta. I know tum bahut busy ho. Waise, tum aur Neil kaise milie. I want to know everything."
"Jee... Um ... Mai aur Neil meet through a case."
"Really, but DD didn't tell me anything."
I interfered at this point. We had to come up with a cover story so my mom doesn't catch on with the reality of the situation.
"Mom, I need to talk to Avni in private for a bit. "
"But Neil -"
"Maa, Neela Auntie doesn't know about our relationship. Can you tell her for us please?"
"Kya?!!! Avni, you didn't tell Neela!! Why?"
To this Avni had put her head down and whispered,
"Because I just found out."
"Huh. You know what never mind. I am going to Neela and I will tell her."
As soon as my mom stepped out of the door, I got hit in the face with a pillow. Avni had just thrown a pillow at me.
"Oh hello. Mister. How dare you say that I am your girlfriend. I hardly even know you. And our parents know each other which means that I am going to be interrogated by my mom because some asshole couldn't keep his mouth shut."
"Oy! Who do you think you are calling an asshole? Plus you were the one who said that you wanted this problem to be dealt with as quietly as possible."
"That didn't mean to make me your girlfriend!!"
"No, but that is your punishment for hitting me with your car."
"I rather be in jail."
"Hey, that's harsh. Who wouldn't want to be my girlfriend?" I said while I waved my hand up and down to indicate my body, which had caused to roll her eyes. I had then said,
" But honestly, I kinda need you to do this."
"Why?"
"Because my mom is trying to marry me off to complete strangers. And I would prefer to love my future wifey."
"And how do I fit into the equation?"
"Well, my mom will get off my back if she thinks I am in a relationship. And after a few months, we will have a horrible breakup, which will leave me heartbroken."
"And you think that after our so-called break-up, Sweta Aunty will leave you alone."
"Yep. I have tried it before when I was 20."
"You are a hundred percent sure that this will work?"
"Yep." Nope. I think my mom is going to call b.s. on my act and help me try to make this a real relationship.
"Also, this pyaar wala situation. How are going to find your life partner without getting caught by your mom."
"Leave that to me. So, deal?" I said while extending my hand.
"Deal", she replied while shaking my hand.
This was our beginning. The moment that I know I would cherish forever.
