Karan Kundrra breaks silence on wedding plans with Tejasswi Prakash: ‘It’s a matter of when’

Actor Karan Kundrra has responded to the criticism he faced after revealing that he had spoken to his family before planning to propose to longtime partner Tejasswi Prakash. Addressing the backlash, the television star said he sees nothing wrong with seeking advice from loved ones before taking an important step in life.

Karan recently spoke about the issue during an interaction with Siddharth Kannan. The actor questioned why consulting family members before making a major personal decision had become a subject of criticism online.

Explaining his stance, he said, “Agar aap parents se naahi puchoge, agar aap apna bahiyon se nahi puchoge, to kisse puchoge?” He maintained that family continues to play an important role in his life and that their opinions matter to him.

Reacting strongly to those who criticised him, Karan added, “Ye jitney bhi log hain na jo bol rahe hain usko apne parents se baat nahi karni chahiye thi, lanat hai tumlogo ke upar.” He further stressed that a romantic relationship should never reduce the value or place of parents in a person's life.

Reiterating his views, the actor said, “Kisi aur ke aane se aap apne parents ke position nahi bhul jaoge.” Taking a dig at social media users who disagreed with him, Karan remarked, “Jo log mereko comment kar rahe hain na ki you should not talk to your parents, bhai kon si uniya mein paida hue ho? Hindustan mein paida hue ho ki kahi Kardashians ke ghar paida hue ho tumlog?”

Karan also clarified that Tejasswi Prakash had no issue with him discussing the proposal with his family. According to him, the criticism largely came from online users rather than from people directly involved in the situation.

While he said the trolling does not affect him personally, he expressed concern about the message such criticism could send to younger audiences. He believes people should not feel discouraged from seeking guidance from family members when making significant life decisions.

The actor also addressed the question he is frequently asked about his future with Tejasswi. Karan indicated that marriage is very much part of their plans. According to him, the discussion is not about whether they will marry, but when they decide the time is right for both of them.
