Why is Varun Dhawan not getting award winning Roles.?

Considering his BO success you would think he would get more fleshed out mature roles for his age.

SLB could have given him a try instead of using Ranveer repeatedly for his period film.

He also is referred to as a junior in his movies alongside a mature male figure I noticed.

It is the Police rookie, college kid, younger brother etc.

Is it because people don't picture him in more serious roles?

Because he is a limited actor. The same way Govinda never got award winning roles. Doing comedies and acting like a fool doesn't make one a good actor.

Seriously i can see Varun in many directors movies and their kind of cinema but not in SLB world 😆

Varun is not what I will call a great actor. But he is building a resume that plays to his strengths and that seems to be working for him so far. Nothing wrong with that. Especially in BW that works.

LOL SLB films...let Ranveer stick to SLB.

There are far better directors capable of extracting good performances from their actors.

The 3 next movies he have judwaa2 are all with national award winners -

Shoojit sircar

Shart kataria ( dum laga ke haisha director)

Nitesh tiwari ( dangal director)

And in shiddat he is playing a negative role so..

I think he is doing quite good for himself and in badrinath every single critic praised his acting. So us fans are happy😃

For what its worth it 😆Varun did bag Best Actor nominations for Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania & Badlapur and will most probably earn 1 for Badrinath this year.

Plus his line up post Judwaa2 seems promising
