What Varun needs is a movie that showcase his acting chops like SSR did in Dhoni, Ranveer did with BM and Ranbir did with Rockstar/Barfi/Jagga. Hopefully since he has 3 N/A director, he will have one movie with bragging point. 😊

Varun has done it with already with Badlapur. It is far better than Ranveer in BM.

And it is the kind of performance that not many have delivered. Ranbir tried something similar and failed miserably with Bombay Velvet. The only thing worse about that movie than Ranbir's performance is whatever Karan Johar was doing. They took the whole movie down with them. Anushka on the other hand is the only ones trying.

It was the movie that made me realize that Ranbir is limited as an actor. He will excel in roles like WUS, Barfi and now Jagga which is an extension of Barfi, but very little otherwise.

no i am not bringing them down. bt i mean the over hype that they are the best thing since cows milk when they only had one or 2 hits. worse were they were more in the news for their relationships then work for most of their career. VDs work is being spoken more of then anything else that's why i feel u can judge his connection with the audience more then them.

The only new generation gave wave outside India by his own is Ranbir Kapoor. About Ranveer, most of people know Ranveer as Deepika lover and only his movie with Deepika known by international.

he is not a kapoor, khan or roshan to manipulator his numbers. where is Omkara would love to know how well all the youngsters collections are outside india

Secondly, Badlapur his best till now. Was A rated film which you Bira fans tend to ignore but delivering a successful film of genre isn't easy feat and that too a respected director but who'd never seen a successful film.

Varun was in top form in Badrinath too but this forum only tends to call off beat roles a good performance where as commercial roles aren't appreciated. Badlapur got him many accolades. But his fan base is well built with roles he's chosen so far. And truth be told, Ranbir can't pull off a commercial hero roles which is a requirement for any quintessential Bollywood hero. I mean we saw Besharam. Barring rom-coms, Rockstar and Barfi. What has he actually achieved?

His fan base is really young and he has time enough to wait for them to grow enough to like more experimental movies. In the meanwhile he can become a bankable star and then branch out.

Varun is a limited actor, he won't be able to pull off a JJ or a Rockstar. Ranbir isn't called the best actor of his generation for nothing by majority critic. Varun has a long way to go and yes he doesn't take risks like Ranbir, plays safe to get hits. Let him do few more Badlapur, then we'll compare.

You are comparing 5 year old in industry with some who is been here for 10 years in terms of variety of roles??? Indeed give it a year or 2 he will more variety then even you'd be making same old excuses.

JJ is nothing pathbreaking 😆 stop overhyping. And it's his release in 10th year. By then Varun will have way too many things for you to compare it with. Also- Badlapur is one genre Ranbir hasn't attempted
