Why is Varun Dhawan not getting award winning Roles.? - Page 2

whilst the big directors where working with the supposed best young stars in BW. the kid whose dad makes comedy movies has slowly been worming his way into the hearts of the audience. he has been building his audience and becoming a brand in himself. he is not a media made star(like bir) and not someone's boyfriend(veer). even in the lousiest of movies(barring diwali) he has been praised by the critics and loved by the audience.

Ranbir has been a flop with half of the big directors he has worked with and when he started out he was arrogant and thought he would beat the 3 khans within a few yrs and look where he is now. Veer is a one hit wonder lets wait to see if his next does well.

these top directors will surely wat to work with VD in the future but they going to have to wait in line to work with baby.


and all those comments about VD being the next Govinda is just nonsense coz he
is far more talented then him and he is handsome.

i am not being arrogant about his success but he truly has not needed to work with the best to be next to the best. bt that obviously does not mean that i would not want him to work with the best. but he has worked in movies that when i heard ab i was negative and he has won me over in them. and so as a fan i really can not complain about him not working with the best and not having roles that on paper seem not to be that interesting at 1st

Some directors prefer to work with a fixed set of people
But Varun has been working with many good directors
He has been doing well consistently and raking in good numbers too
People are loving him and he is gaining popularity
What more does one want ?

Media makes everyone star. That is their job. How else does layman know which is which. What it can't do is get great reviews from public or whole hearted praise. Which SSR, Ranbir and Ranveer have received in past. No sense in running them down.

What Varun needs is a movie that showcase his acting chops like SSR did in Dhoni, Ranveer did with BM and Ranbir did with Rockstar/Barfi/Jagga. Hopefully since he has 3 N/A director, he will have one movie with bragging point. 😊

Don't know about awards or fleshed out characters

But as a viewer it a more entertaining to watch Dishoom than rockstar or even BM

I loved when Akshay came on that scooter with man bun. Awards/ fleshed out characters/ crazy fans is secret behind love received from trade. Us audience like entertainment. I love Dishoom btw.

why can't i bash varun dhawan's box office so let me pick on his acting

I can assure Dhawan got much more appreciation for Badlapur than Ranbir did for Jagga or Sushant did for Dhoni as both got mixed reviews overall.

Secondly, Badlapur his best till now. Was A rated film which you Bira fans tend to ignore but delivering a successful film of genre isn't easy feat and that too a respected director but who'd never seen a successful film.

Varun was in top form in Badrinath too but this forum only tends to call off beat roles a good performance where as commercial roles aren't appreciated. Badlapur got him many accolades. But his fan base is well built with roles he's chosen so far. And truth be told, Ranbir can't pull off a commercial hero roles which is a requirement for any quintessential Bollywood hero. I mean we saw Besharam. Barring rom-coms, Rockstar and Barfi. What has he actually achieved?

Lets see:

He has already done a terrific movie with Sriram, Badlapur. Apart from Vicky Kaushal, I can't recall anyone who has debuted with or after him to give a better performance.

And he has movies coming with Nitesh (Dangal), Shoojit (Piku, Madras Cafe) and then there is one with Sriram (rumoured to be thriller with Sci-fi elements), even Shiddat looks very good (the director has made a decent first movie in 2 states, the direction is particular seemed very promising).

That line-up is better than most with the reception of Judawa 2, that is going to be mediocre.
