It's not the government..
It's always been society.. (Lower and higher class) .. It's just deemed as a slang..
Just like in the UK when at school/ apply for a job especially in London, you should use proper English language
Rather than the English slang that I've grown up in my town with as rich SOCIETY tend to look down on you..
Its not the government or country that looks down at it.. Because the majority of Pakistan speaks Punjabi.. It's just a few high class societies that you go around think you're being rude..
It's because Pakistani punjabi's aren't exactly speaking proper Punjabi
It's like a broken Punjabi ... And plus we don't even know how to read Punjabi..
Looking at the article.. These are high class education.. So most likely banning Punjabi language is possible and practice English and Urdu..as high class societies are PAYING for their children's education ..I'm sure in Indian high class education avoid speaking Punjabi/Hindi too and most likely learn and speak English just like Bollywood celebs who hardly talk in Hindi during interviews (this annoys me as I'm watching.. Like why can't they embrace their language?)
But nevertheless I speak it.. And that how I interact with the family..
all this isn't about Pakistan & India ... It's has more to do with Social classes & their expectations which is a issue in every country & what the higher class expects!!
