Amidst the wonderful scenes we were able to witness between Abhi and Meera today was this heartbreaking scene.
Yograj got the mug made specially for Abhi, unaware that Abhi had to drop out of his studies. I read what it said on the mug before Abhi was able to read it, and I literally gasped, not wanting him to see what was written. The way you could see him just crumble a little, realizing the source of that again. Funny that who I'm assuming to be the reason Abhi had to drop out is giving him that gift, reminding him of the beginning of the journey towards a self-sacrificial Abhi.
Of course all of this is assuming Yograj leaving was the reason Abhishek had to drop out of his studies, but so far, that's what I'm thinking.
Even the faces of his family members, apart from Ramraj, mirrored mine. Ramraj was casually eating, but didn't fail to leave a taunt; "Sab ke baare mein sab kuch jaan liya bhaiyya, par itna nahi jaan paaye ki Abhishek kabhi engineer bana hi nahi. Padhaai beech mein chodni padi usse."
And then how Abhi left from there, saying, "Guest ko khana pohchana [send] hai"
I wanted to go hug him right there. That scene, in particular, struck a chord in me. Beautifully shown with minimal dialogues, but PJ's acting taking it to another level. He isn't OTT, nor is he lacking. His delivery of dialogues is already amazing, but the subtle gestures he utilizes take his character to a realm of reality. We start believing Abhishek is a real person. We start feeling for him.
This scene really took me there. It wasn't about meaningless anger, especially considering he was going to apologize for how he behaved in the room. Abhishek's maturity is really shining through, which is why his character is so admirable!
I'm continually being amazed with PJ's acting, and today, even Namita has done an amazing job
