This was a hugely popular show watched by families across India, aired on the most conservative of channels - Doordarshan.

Hard to believe we make such a hue and cry about nudity and censorship two decades later. Are we progressing or regressing as a society?

indian tv has gone regressive today. dekh bhai dekh was a family show lol. even music videos like kaanta laga, than chadti jawani remix where actress grabs her own ass was a big rage lol. but now kekta maata n dead indian music market has changed the industry🤡

Maybe they cut that butt shot during telecast

some weird rules we have.. every day on the street in india you see naked kids running around..every day you hear some gaali on the street.. but when it comes to movies so much unnecessary drama..

a few years back some ministers went to watch the dirty picture but after hearing media is outside they watched mission impossible too 😆

It's the subject matter of TV shows and women's plight that's disturbing... DD shows were much progressive contentwise...

BTW Raj Kapoor showed nudity in his movies in the 70s... I don't know how censor allowed those scenes... I thought they were stricter then

It is a complicated question. In some aspects we have progressed and in some aspects we have regressed.
