The Whole Kanye And Taylor Mess Just Got Even Worse

Hello. I'm sure you know by now that earlier this year Kanye West released a song called "Famous" with the lyrics "I think that me and Taylor might still have sex, I made that bitch famous". This caused a LOT of drama.

Like, so much drama that I don't even know what to do.

In Taylor's first statement about the song, she claimed that she never approved the lyrics, and warned Kanye not to release it.

"Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single Famous' on her Twitter account," her publicist told BuzzFeed. "She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, I made that bitch famous.'"

To this, Kanye replied that she definitely heard it and loved it.

THEN Kim told GQ that Taylor was 100% aware of the song.

"She totally approved that. She totally knew that that was coming out. She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn't. I swear, my husband gets so much shit for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved."

So, no one really knew who to believe because both parties had very different stories about how it all went down.

THIS IS WHERE SHIT GETS MESSY. Today, Kim uploaded the video of the phone call between Kanye and Taylor to Snapchat. AND GUYS, THERE IS SO MUCH HERE TO UNPACK.

Kanye rapped the lyric: "For all my south side n****s that know me best, I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex," to Taylor over the phone, to which she replied: "I'm like this close to overexposure".

Kanye: "Oh well this one is, uh " I think this is a really cool thing to have."

Taylor: "I know! I mean it's like a compliment kind of."

This is a very different reaction from the first statement she made where she called the lyric "misogynistic".

She also thanked Kanye for calling her: "Aw, thanks! Yeah I really appreciate it. Like, the heads up is so nice!"

THEN IT GETS INTERESTING.

Taylor says, "You gotta tell the story the way that it happened to you and the way you experienced it".

We can ASSUME that here she's talking about the time that Kanye interrupted Taylor's acceptance speech at the MTV VMAs in 2009.

"Like you obviously didn't know who I was before that. It doesn't matter if I sold 7 million of that album before you did that, which is what happened. You didn't know who I was before that."

So why would Taylor drag Kanye for saying he made her famous, if this was her reaction when she first heard it?

In the video, she also tells Kanye that she would talk about the song on the Grammy's red carpet.

"And you know, if people ask me about it," she says, "I think it would be great for me to be like, look, he called me and told me about the line before it came out'. Like, joke's on you guys, we're fine. You guys wanna call this a feud, you wanna call this throwing shade. But right after the song comes out, I'm gonna be on a Grammy red carpet and they're gonna ask me about it. And I'm gonna be like, he called me."

It's all very messy.

Though Taylor never denied that she had a conversation with Kanye, it does seem weird that she would publicly call the song misogynistic when she told Kanye that it was a compliment. It does prove, however, that Taylor never actually heard the lyric where Kanye calls her "that bitch". On the other hand, Kim should have released this right at the beginning of all this drama, instead of holding it to promote her show. Kanye also shouldn't have recorded Taylor without her permission.
