Loved it

N bloody K cracked me up

Khushi had a grand entry to his house. She fell flat in face

And nk's presense didn't please arnav at all. He was more irritated with khushi giving more attention to nk and ignoring him. Well khushi was following his footsteps.

What khushi doesn't know is that she doesn't have to make much effort to make arnav crazy, he is already going crazy

Will be waiting For the next update

Chapter 10

"Khushiji, you are so funny!" NK laughed.

It was no secret that Arnav didn't like NK. Not that he hated NK, just.. would rather not be around him.

"Khushiji, how is it like working for Nannav? Is he as scary as they say he is?" NK grinned.

Would rather not be around him mainly because he was too cheery and liked to call him Nannav, which he absolutely loathed but of course NK still continued to call him that.

"Khushiji, I will rest later. My jet lag will kick in after a while. Aap chirag mat karo- what? Oh it's chinta not chirag? Yes, yes, that's what I meant. You know me so well, Khushiji." NK praised.

Then there was the fact that his Hindi was enough to make the craziest people go slightly crazier.

"Khushiji, will you teach me to make sweets as well?" Nk asked.

The poor man had no clue what his seemingly innocent and light sentences were doing to one seething ASR who was ready to blow the fuse with his constant Khushiji' Ji? Really? What was this, 1920s? But then again, Khushi too addressed him as Arnavji.

They were both cartoon characters, he decided.

"Khushiji, what are you doing tomorrow? Maybe you can give me a tour around here" NK suggested.

And now, NK had just given him another reason to dislike him. Ever since he'd arrived, he'd stuck by Khushi as if they were joined to the hip. For the past twenty minutes, all he'd been hearing as he tried to concentrate on his work in his room were the two loud voices and laughs coming from the hall.

And he knew exactly who those particular voices belonged to.

He could argue that their chit chat was distracting him. That he had to work. That his house had never been this lively and noisy before. But he knew that the real reason he'd come down was because he'd had enough of these two and something about how easily they'd become friends didn't sit well with him.

"Khushi, you have a beautiful smile" NK complimented.

NK liked beautiful smiles, did he? Well Arnav would be sure to set him up with Laxmi the goat. She had a great smile when she happily stuffed her face with her favorite leafy greens, chewing them out of the basket.

Arnav noticed how the ji was absent this time, and as he stood on the stairs and glared at NK, hoping to burn him with his intense gaze, he realized that the two of them were alone in the balcony, away from the others. He clenched his fists.

"I'm not going to pay you overtime as my PA for doing nothing, Ms Gupta" His stern voice was enough to wipe the smile off her face. He suddenly felt uneasy, knowing that he'd caused her to wear the serious expression on her face.

Ever since he'd known her, which wasn't very long but even then, she'd always had a smile on her face, or at the very least looked cheerful and pleasant. But now she looked.. blank.

"I didn't request for over time, Sir. Besides, you wanted me to make the sweets, which has nothing to do with being your PA at work. I wasn't going to ask for overtime for tonight." The hurt was clear in her soft but firm voice.

Before he could say anything, he saw NK shaking his head at him and Arnav scowled at him. He watched as Khushi slowly got up from the couch and started walking, limping slightly to avoid putting pressure on her still throbbing ankle.

Arnav moved forward to help her but stopped short when NK held her arm and assisted her. Arnav fought the need to be the one to help her. She kept her eyes down to the ground as they walked past him. "Where are you going?" He asked her.

"To make the sweets" She replied evenly. Arnav sighed. Why was he being so difficult? She didn't do anything wrong.. except making him feel something.

"It's okay, you don't have to-" Arnav's eyes narrowed to slits when she interrupted him and went back to ignoring him.

"Come on, Nanheji, you wanted me to teach you how to make sweets right? I'll show you." She smiled widely at NK who nodded his head, excited. Arnav cringed at her nickname for NK. If she really wanted a nickname, he had a great one. It was N bloody K.

He couldn't resist and he started to tag along behind them before he could wonder why the hell he was acting like a stalker in his own house.

"It's really easy to make them." Khushi continued. "Once, I had a big order from a new client. The cat from my neighborhood came late at night and decided to sleep on top of the box of sweets. Motilalji, our rival, decided to make a big deal out of it. To please the client, I single handedly completed the order. And as compensation, I offered to be a waitress for their event too." Maybe making sweets and waitressing wasn't exactly the ideal profession or career for many, but for her, she loved it. She was proud of what she did.

Nk scratched his head. "Khushiji, how did the cat get to the sweets?"

Khushi glanced at him as they walked slowly to the kitchen. "I was washing the windows one day when a parrot flew near me. I panicked."

NK gaped at her. Arnav frowned. Window? Parrot? What was the question and what was her answer?

"Khushiji, what does that have to do with-" NK was interrupted.

"Oh ho, Nanheji, let me finish!" Khushi stopped by the dining table to pour herself a glass of water. The last half an hour she'd spent with Nanheji made her thirsty. But she didn't mind. She liked him. He was such a nice person! Totally opposite his Nannav.

"Where was I? Yes, I panicked and shut the window with too much force. The handle came off. And the cat came in." Khushi recalled.

NK nodded, mentally scolding the cat for having made Khushiji do extra work. Then he frowned. "Khushiji, how did Motaji find out about the cat?" He asked curiously. Arnav, who was trying hard to appear discreet and indifferent, was not far behind. He was intrigued by her story. These type of things of course only happened to her.

"Motilalji" Khushi corrected. She paused and put her hands on her hips. "I don't know, Nanehji. It was early in the morning, he happened to make rounds around the neighborhood when he saw the cat. Can I tell you a secret?" Khushi leaned forward. "Those morning walks never did him any good. He is still big sized." She smiled, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

"He set out to hurt you but couldn't do so" NK remarked happily. Khushi nodded. "He also got his punishment for creating a scene. Bittu decided to potty on him" Khushi giggled.

NK questioned. "Bittu?"

Khushi nodded. The parrot. Came out of nowhere that day and decided to potty on him." She bit her lip to stop from laughing. "I named him bittu because after potty, he.. he bit Motilalji's ear."

Arnav's lips twitched as he saw her smiling, the innocence on her face shinning bright. A slow warmth spread through him. She took everything positively. She didn't let her spirits down. How did she do it? She was aptly named. Happiness.

Khushi looked around the kitchen and nibbled on her nail. Mama and Mamiji were in their room. Nani was reading her prayer book. Anjaliji was speaking to the servant. She turned to ask NK for help. "Nanheji, do you know where the ingredients are?"

NK shook his head. "No Khushiji. I'm like you, a guest here" He said sadly.

Arnav took his chance to swoop in. "What do you need?" He asked, ready to locate the ingredients and help her. Khushi looked startled, as if she hadn't realized that he was nearby. Somehow, that stung. Was she so involved in her chat with NK that she failed to recognize her surroundings?

"I need space to cook. Perhaps you should leave the kitchen" Khushi said politely, but the jibe was clear. She would teach him a lesson! No one ignored Khushi Kumari Gupta.

"You're right" Arnav agreed with her, enjoying the brief flash of surprise in her eyes. "NK, go up to your room and rest. Your jet lag must be tiring you." Arnav effectively made some space for her. He smiled at her challengingly.

Khushi was suddenly nervous at the prospect of being alone with him. What if he had another one of his mood swings? How would she defend herself in his house?

"Are you a mind reader? How do you know that he is tired?" Khushi craned her neck at him like a bird.

"NK, I'm sure you don't want a repeat of the last time when you came and suffered from jet lag." Arnav looked at Khushi.

"He refused to rest and then ended up vomiting and then Laxmi-" Arnav smirked, knowing he'd hit a spot. NK was terrified of Laxmi, for reasons he couldn't understand. She was just a goat.

"Nannav mere bhai! I don't want a repeat of that." NK said in a rush. He looked at Khushi and shook her hand. "Khushiji, I will see you in a while" And just like that, he was gone.

Gone, leaving her alone in the kitchen with a smug looking Arnav Singh Raizada.
