This was really great! I decided to read the whole thing before commenting since you've already written 7 chapters. I wasn't planning on reading this because I generally stick to short FFs, but I saw "Vatican Cameos" in the index and then I had to read! 😛Also, in spite of the Sherlock reference that caught my eye, I was expecting mostly MaNan (this is a KYY fic after all), but I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of details you've given to the mystery. In fact, I'm actually enjoying the mystery part (and Nandu's criminal-psychology-analysis) more than MaNan! (Although I don't know if that's because of the way you've written or just my inner fangirl who loooves mysteries & detectives 😳. Either way, well done!)
The characters are almost completely different from what they are on the show (no complaints there, since most of them are annoyingin the show). No Navya, either. 👏
Cabir is still the humour guy, w/o being gay (unless he's still in the closet? I don't think he is).
Alya is still an airhead, but with less of the mean factor AND she's BI?! And Mukti/Alya?😆
The first mention of them together had me laughing. But it got sinister later. Mukti is... weird. (In the show as well, but you know what I mean, right?). I don't think she's behind all the murders but there's definitely some connection.
Dhruv is always a mystery.😆
Harshad is NICE! Show-Harshad has always been such a harmless villain (and an indirect MaNan shipper) but here he seems normal! Why did he marry Mukti, though?😕
Manik - still stubborn. I want Nandu, so I'll pester her. If that doesn't work, I'll land up at her door. 😆 Classic Manik.
Nandu - The best! Her analysis and her no-nonsense approach with Manik! ⭐️
Behaviour-wise she seems completely different from the show. Bolder. But there are other aspects which are the same. She is still a loner (for the most part). Hides her emotions well (except from Manik, to whom she's opened up).
The MaNan relationship progressed really fast, but it works for the most part because the characters are so different here.
Fab 5 doesn't seem as tightly knit in this story as they (supposedly) were in the show.
But I just LOVE the way you've written the mystery. You've taken care to maintain the pace, the tension, given enough details... Really good work. 👏
That was a long comment. I've no idea if you're still continuing this story. If not, could you please reveal the murderer? Please? 😳
If you are, keep up the good work!
