Jasprit Bumrah reacts to Awarapan 2's recreated classic with nostalgic note

Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah recently shared a nostalgic moment with his followers after reacting to a song from the upcoming film Awarapan 2. The star pacer took to Instagram Stories and shared the poster of "Tera Mera Rishta Continues (Film Ballad)", a new version of the popular track from the 2007 film Awarapan.

Along with the post, Bumrah expressed how the song reminded him of his school days. He wrote, "Back in school, listening to these songs made me feel so cool. Pure nostalgia."

The cricketer's post quickly caught attention online, with many fans relating to the memories attached to the original song. The track "Tera Mera Rishta" from Awarapan had become widely popular after the film's release and continues to hold a special place among listeners who grew up with its music.

The makers of Awarapan 2 have now introduced a new version titled "Tera Mera Rishta Continues (Film Ballad)." While the updated track brings a fresh presentation, it retains the emotional tone associated with the original melody.

About Awarapan 2, Awarapan 2 will see Emraan Hashmi return as Shivam Pandit, the character he played in the first film. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the sequel also features Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, Aniruddh Rawal and Atul Kumar.

The film is scheduled to release in theatres on August 14, 2026. The trailer suggests a storyline involving action, revenge and redemption, while also highlighting the role of music in connecting the sequel with its predecessor.

Bumrah's latest social media update came at a time when he continues to remain in focus for his cricket career. The pacer has been ruled out of India's upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, scheduled to begin on August 15. Jammu and Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi has been named as his replacement.
