CHAPTER THIRTY

'Yeah I knew... I postponed my meeting in Goa for another week and tried to spend some time with her but nothing... Everything I did I think just annoyed her and I think in a way I reminded her of him all the time and she hated being around me...'' He said dishearten

'Did she tell you that?'' Asked Vandu

'No she didn't have to...'' Said Raman as he wiped a lone tear that was streaming down his face

'So you leave for Goa...'' Said Vandu

'Yes, I left for Goa for a week and when I got back, she had changed a bit...'' He said

'How...'' Asked Vandu

'Raman... Hey... Welcome back...'' Said Ishita as she walked over to where he was and out her arms around him pulling him in

'Oh God I really missed you...'' She added

'I... Uhh ... I missed you too...'' Raman said a bit surprised with what was going on

'How was your trip? Did you finalize that deal...'' She asked

'Well sort of, some more things remaining, what the hell is going on'' He asked

'What do you mean?'' SaidIshita as she grabbed her bag and began parking a water bottle and a couple of more things as well

'And where are you going'' Raman asked still a bit confused

'At the rift... I have a few projects that I am working on... ' She said as she began looking for her phone

'Rift... What do you mean working on'' He asked

'You know... Working... Coding... My God I really missed it but now I am glad I have something to do...'' She said as she leaned in and kissed him on his cheek as she said

'I have to go and I will see you when I get back...'' And with that she ran out of the house

'Raman welcome back...'' Said Santosh who had just walked in from the kitchen

'Mom, what happened? When I last saw her she could barely get out of bed...'' Said Raman

'I am not sure but she began receiving calls from someone and before I knew it, she had been going out every morning and coming back in the evenings. She barely talks to any of us except maybe Mihir whom she goes with sometimes...''Said Santosh

'Calls from whom...'' He asked but Santosh just shrugged her shoulders pretending she didn't know

'Where is Mihir...'' Raman asked

'In his room, still nursing a hangover...'' Said Santosh shaking her head as she said

'I don't know what to do with that boy...'' But Raman just dropped his bag and began walking to Mihir's room

'Raman...'' His mother called and he turned

'I think you should take time off work and spend time with your wife. You both have been through so much and you both need this...'' Said Santosh

'I will just not now...'' Raman said

'Make it now Raman... You need to make time...'' Said Santosh before she walked away

'This was the second time my mother saw something that I couldn't and I was negligent to understand then that by the time I realized this, it was late...'' said Raman

''Your mother knew something was not right...'' Said Vandu

'Yeah... Even before I left for Goa she warned me but I didn't listen'' Said Raman

'Mihir... Mihir wake up ...'' Said Raman who was in Mihir's room

'Oh hey bro...'' Said Mihir as he got up lazily

'Wake up... Come on we need to talk...'' Said Raman as he dragged Mihir out from under the covers

'I am up... What do you want'' Said Mihir

'What happened with Ishita...'' Said Raman

'What do you mean'' Said Mihir who was still irritated that they had interrupted his sleep

'Something is differed with her and now she is going at the rift with you...'' Said Raman

'Seriously yaar, shouldn't these questions be for your wife...'' Said Mihir

'Well I am asking you...'' Said Raman

'She goes to the rift all the time why is this time different?'' He said irritated

'She did go to the rift a lot... Mihir was right, why did it concern you this time...'' Said Vandu

'Because this time, it felt different... I couldn't explain it but I knew it was a bit different. You know when Mihir said that I almost dropped it but then he said something else

'What was it...'' Asked Vandu

'Is it because of that dude that comes around to see her... Relax she is just working for him...'' Said Mihir

'Dude... What dude...'' Said Raman but Mihir had begun dozing

'Mihir wake up, what dude...' Said Raman shaking him

'I don't know... Raghav or something... Abhimanyu Raghav... Yeah that is him...'' Said Mihir removing himself from Raman's hold as he out down his head and slept again

'This was the first time that this name was being heard and I had a feeling it was not going to be the last. I just had a bad feeling when I heard his name and it made me very insecure for some reason.'' Said Raman

'So what did you do? Did you confront her?'' Said Vandu

'No...I followed her ' Said Raman

'To the rift...'' Said Vandu

Yes... Something that I regret because it begun it all.This jealous rage that ended up in me screwing up big time'' Said Raman

'What did you do...'' Said Vandu

'When I got to the rift I was told she wasn't there and had gone to have drinks with some friends. I went to the caf where they were but she wasn't with some friends, she was with a guy... She seemed happy and she was laughing as they kept on looking at something on the laptop. I didn't even see his face properly but I think at that point my head had already decided that my wife as either cheating or was about to and I did the one thing that just made things worse...'' Said Raman

'What was that...'' Said Vandu

'I began spying on her...'' Said Raman much to Vandu's surprise

Meanwhile back at the officer, Ishita and her gang were handling things and most Sectional Heads of Department had been handled except for one who had refused to show up with accounts that were asked

'Hey Ansh, where is the PrincipalAccountant handling the Goa and Mumbai project? I can see here that he goes there every month to sell but the returns as far less compared to what he actually spends on these trips...'' Said Ishita

'Yes Madam...'' Said Ansh but Ishita interrupted

'Ishita... Call me Ishita, Madam makes me feel old...'' She said trying to make sure her assistant who seemed nervous would just relax

'Okay... Uhhh I have asked him to come but he says he is busy and can't come so either you go to his desk and get the accounts yourself or wait until heis done...'' Said Ansh

'Oh he said that... Who is he...'' Said Ishita

'He is Sham Jhakad. Mr. Jhakad's son'' Said Ansh

'Oh is he now... Mr. Bhalla, what do you suppose I do with this person'' Said Ishita looking at Mr. Bhalla who was in the same board room as she was and in all honesty more shocked than she was

'I don't... tell him I am calling him here...'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'I already tried that Mr. Bhalla, he won't listen...'' Said Ansh

That is fine... Let me, go get them, it is okay...'' Said Ishita as she stood up together with Shlok and together they walked to Sham's office but he wasn't there. He was with other accountants barking orders and that is when Ishita walked in

'What the hell are you staring at? Do your jobs...'' He barked but everyone had stopped working and was looking at Ishita and Mr. Bhalla who Ishita noticed had also followed them

'Excuse me Sir...'' Ishita said

'What...'' He answered rudely as he turned to look at her

'Hey... I am Ishita Kumar Bhalla and I have been asking for you to get me details on some of your accounts and you couldn't bring them and asked me to get them myself so here I am...'' She said calmly

'Look here I do not have time for this... Talk to my boss he will handle everything... I have a job to do, let me do it...'' He answers and turned to the computer he was working on

'Well who is your boss then...'' She asked

'Mr. Jhakad...'' He answered

'Are you sure? The company is Bhalla companies so technically any Bhalla who has a say is your boss...'' She said

'Bitch please... You are just here because you realized yourhusband's brain was fried and you can get a piece of his money.Do that and leave stop bothering everyone putting them on tension like you have a say'' He said and turned around again

Everyone in that room was in utter shock and Mr. Bhalla couldn't believe it. This was not the Sham he knew; in fact it was like he was looking at a whole new different person but his colleagues knew exactly who he was and this was not something new.Mr. Bhalla wanted to walk forward and say something but Shlok held him back and said

'Relax, she got this just watch...''

'I see... So I am guessing your father hasn't told you yet that he isn't partner or shareholder just yet...He is still just a mere CEO...'' Said Ishita causing Sham to turn and look at her surprised

'In any case, Bitch or not, I own this company and whether you accept it or not, this bitch is your boss...So I ask again, where are the accounts I asked for'' Said Ishita finally having his attention

'I get them to your desk later...'' He said arrogantly

'NO...NO... I want them now; see just like you, even I have better things to do with my time than chasing you around. So go in there and get them for me...'' She said knowing what the answer will be

'Sham... Go get the files... It is really not a big deal...They just want to check a few things'' Said Mr. Bhalla but Sham just stayed there seated as he stared at the computer as if a report was going to come out of there

'Okay then... I guess this has been made easier...'' Said Ishita

'Meaning what...'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'He doesn't have the reports. The ones you saw are forged and thus he can't bring them out because he knows we have to audit them, so it doesn't given him enough time to fix them'' Said Ishita before she turned to Sham and said

'Isn't it Mr. Sham...'' But he just kept quiet

'Shlok can you take these computers he is working on including the ones in his office'' Said Ishita and Shlok obliged as some of the techs they had brought from RUADISH.COM began their work

'You can't do that...'' He said as he tried to protest

'See given I am the owner and all, I actually can...'' Said Ishita

'Mr. Bhalla... I and my father have served you well and now this is how you repay us for our loyalty... ' He said looking at Mr. Bhalla but at this point, even he wasn't buying it

'If you have nothing to hide, I am so sure they will find nothing and she will have to eat humble pie and apologize to you... So you have nothing to fear... Right ...'' Said Mr. Bhalla but Sham just sat back knowing he was caught

'Shlok...'' Ishita called him

'Yup we got it all... He is free to leave...'' Said Shlok

'Okay... So this is how this is going to work... I am giving you a head start. You need to park everything you have in the next 3 minutes and leave because chances are high I am going to sue you...I really do not like people whosteal from me...'' Said Ishitacausing Mr. Bhalla to look at her as if she was being hypocritical

'I have nothing to hide... Do what you may... I am not going anywhere...'' He said as he out of place, you out... Deal...'' Said Ishita

'Fine...'' Said Sham who thought he was buying himself more time but he was wrong

Ishita looked at him and smiled knowing this was going to be child's play. She sat down on the computer he was using and retired 5 of the 15 files he had deleted in less than 5 minutes. She then turned and looked at him and said

'I am positive that this is a scanned document of a signed contract by Mr. Raman Kumar Bhalla except there is no problem, you see this date... ' She said causing Mr. Bhalla to put on his specs and extend to look carefully beforeIshita added

'He was in a coma... Now unless your some sort of miracle worker, I don't see how this was him. And I can see it was worth over 15 Million Cores... Flabbergasting isn't it...'' Said Ishita in a cocky way but Sham just kept quiet knowing he was caught

'You know what is funny... One would think with all the business sense your father must have taught you, it was moronic to keep all those files here or even use company emails to do your dealings. I mean come on...'' Said Ishita which pissed off Sham and he came forward to try and slap her but Shlok held him back saying

'Wrong girl... Try someone else...''

Mr. Bhalla stood there in utter shock of what was going on and wasn't sure what to say or do or even try and justify how this happened. Mr. Jhakad was like a brother and Sham was like his son too. He had blind faith in them and trust that they all wanted the same thing so this, this was hard to swallow and to dumper his ego even further, it took Ishita 3 months to figure out what was going on and yet he still didn't know after years of trying to find out

'Now... Carry your useless ass and get the hell out of my building. These two gentlemen in there are the ones hauling your ass off to jail for embezzlement. Now I would have listened to your side of the story given in Mr. Bhalla's eyes your family but since you're a stuck up and arrogant prick I figured I treat you as such...'' Said Ishita

'You can't do that...Mr. Bhalla... Please she can't do this...'' Said Sham as he got up only to see a couple of big guys and police officers walking toward him

'I haven't done anything wrong...'' He added

'Did you know that spending company money on personal expenses is illegal, it warrants grounds for dismissal. Did you also know that forging senior signatures let alone the owner of the company for fake accounts is also illegal ... But my personal favorite insider trading and revealing company secrets is also a big felony so with all the influence your father has, let us see how you get out of these given your last account, you duped a Police Commissioner...'' Said Ishita much to everyone's shock especially Mr. Bhalla

'Abhishek hello... Do you remember me...'' said the commissioner looking at Sham who knew he was caught and his father as in a butt load of trouble if this got back to him

'Oh and when you see your father, tell him to send my regards to Abhya Sharma...'' Said Ishita and Sham looked like he had just seen a ghost

'No... That is impossible...'' He said as they took him away but Ishita just smiled and watched as he was taken away

Once all that drama was done, she turned to the rest of the employees who were in the room and said

'If you have not handed in your reports, accountabilities and pending assignments, you have 12 hours. If I get here tomorrow morning and they are not on my desk... A lot of people are going to lose their jobs or worse...'' And with that they all walked back to the conference room and everyone who had stayed back began working as fast as she could.

Mr. Bhalla got up the stairs and looked back and it as like she had just set on a button and everyone was working on her rhythm. He was impressed even though he couldn't tell her to her face. He also had questions she had to answer about Sham.

CHAPTER THRITY ONE

Mr. Bhalla got up the stairs and looked back and it as like she had just set on a button and everyone was working on her rhythm. He was impressed even though he couldn't tell her to her face. He also had questions she had to answer about Sham.

'How did you know...'' He asked

'Know what...'' Said Ishita as she went through the files Ansh had given her

'That he was embezzling, how did you know... His accounts seemed impeccable...'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'It is my job to know Mr. Bhalla besides if I told you what I thought you wouldn't have believed me because he is your friend's son'' Said Ishita

'Who is the guy... Abhishek ...'' He asked

'A friend... ' said Ishita as Kushan and Romi walked in

'Ishu... We are ready...'' Said Romi

'Okay... I was told I can't do anything without putting you in the know so here we go. I am going to fire 4 of your 5 CEOs. Two of them for negligence the other two for embezzlement and those I am actually suing. I am demoting you designer back to Stylist, she has absolutely no idea what she is doing and you need to promote the lady who is her deputy, she is the talent...If it was up to me I would just fire her'' said Ishita

'Hold on... What... Okay isn't this too much change in a small while...'' He said

'No its not... I don't have time to waste. I need to be out of here in a few months and I can't help if I am not here.'' She said

'Okay but you can't demote the designer...'' He said causing Mihir to turn and ask him

'Why not...''

'Come on... It is his fianc... You really think he will be okay with this...Besides she is a part of my family and she loves her job...'' Said Mr. Bhalla but Ishita just let out a soft laugh and sat down

'You hypocrite...'' Said Mihir

'Excuse me...'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'Yeah you heard me... Ishita was very very good at what she did and she loved it too. In fact she was 10 times better than Shagun at what she did, you wouldn't let her marry Raman because she had a job and now you telling me we can't fire Shagun because she is his fianc and she loves her job which she is really crap at might I add...'' Said Mihir

'Mihir it is fine...'' Said Ishita

'No... Your something else papa... You know I always thought you didn't like her because she was independent and was her own person, I see now ithad nothing to do with that. It was something else...'' Said Mihir

'Mihir it is fine... Really...'' Said Ishita

'Mr. Bhalla, Shagun is a horrible designer. She has no artistic fiber in her body, the work she has been handing in wasn't hers and she has been taking credit for her assistant's work. Your competitors have been poaching your very good and talented employees because you don't cater for them. Loyalty means a lot to you but in order to get it from people you also need to show it, beyond the people around you...'' Said Shlok

'They feel all you care about is your company and the only people who benefit and grow are your close friends. You have to make employees feels important and part of your company family as well. That is why all this embezzling was going on and no one was bothered to come out and report because they knew, you would never take them seriously much less believe them.'' Said Romi

'That is why one of them came to me and that is how I got in touch with Ishita...'' Said Kushan

'Okay... Okay... You have made your point...'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'Alright then... Ansh, call me Shagun Arora please...'' Said Ishita and Ansh followed

Meanwhile back at Vandu's office, Raman was still going back in time and telling Vandu how he and Ishita began falling apart

'What do you mean spying on her...'' Asked Vandu

'I told Kushan to find someone who would report back to me where she went, what she did, what she was working on, that sort of stuff...'' Said Raman

'Did you find what you wanted...'' Asked Vandu

'No... They came back after about a month and told me there was nothing. She just hangs out with the guy and also her friends and sister. That was it... There was no affair...'' Said Raman but the look on his face Vandu knew there was more

'But you didn't believe them...'' She said

'No... I knew something had changed about her. She would sit at the dining table with the rest of us but her mind was always elsewhere. She barely even engaged in a conversation with us but when she got on the phone with him, she would talk and talk and talk endlessly. She would always receive texts from him and her face would light up. Sometimes she would sit at the balcony and you would hear her laugh but when I asked her what it was or who, she would never tell. She was keeping things from me...'' He said with a bit of frustration

'Did it occur to you that maybe it was just easier to talk to someone who didn't see her as a mother who lost a child but rather just Ishita...'' Said Vandu

'But that is the thing, she never really tried to talk to me. I pushed, I asked, I begged, she didn't... She just grew more and more distant from me...'' Said Raman

'Did it make you angry that she found solace elsewhere...'' Vandu asked an obvious question just to get the emotion from it

'It made me livid... I hated it, the fact that someone else was making her laugh instead of me, the fact that she enjoyed everyone else's company but mine, the fact that some other guy was slowly taking my place. I hated it and it filled me with rage and jealousy'' He said

'Why were you so convinced that she was cheating? Had she even given you reason to doubt her?'' Vandu asked

'Well no... But something happened... Something happened at that Rift... She was working late and some guys went to the rift and tried to rob them. She had just a few scratches on her hand but he was worried for her that he ended up taking her to the hospital for treatment and everything. When she got back home and I asked her about it, she told me that it was nothing, she said she was fine and just slipped and fell down the stairs at Mihika's place...'' Said Raman

'Alright... Why did she lie...'' Said Vandu

'I don't know... Maybe... Because she had lied to me initially about being at the rift in the first place ... She wasn't supposed to be there, she was supposed to be at Mihika's place planning some sort of party for their parents or so I was told...'' Said Raman standing up from the chair and walking to the window

'This just made my suspicion even worse and I knew in my heart of hearts I was losing her. These little lies she used to tell had become bigger and bigger and I was worried for my marriage so I called the one person I thought would help me...'' He added

'Who...'' Vandu asked

'SHAGUN...'' He answered

'Buzz...Buzz...'' Off went the alarm

'I really would have loved to finish this but our time has come to an end'' Said Vandu

'I thought you said we complete this story today...'' He said

'Well yeah and I thought our time would be enough but it wasn't. I have other patients as well you know and I just can't push them all away'' Said Vandu

'I understand... Besides I may have a small lapse that I need to figure out first... There is still a lot I don't know...'' Said Raman

'Alright... Fill in those gaps and we begin again next week...'' Said Vandu handing Raman his phones before he got up and left the office.

He needed to talk to the people who were at the center of it all, the people he knew he would trust.

Meanwhile Back at the office, Shagun at been summoned and had walked into the board room not prepared for what was coming her way and she was in for a shocker.

'Shall we start or are you going to keep on staring at your files the whole day. I do actually have work.'' Shagun said

'Oh I know... We are waiting for someone...'' Said Ishita looking up before she turned to look at the files again

Someone opened the door and walked in and when Shagun turned she could see her assistant walk in much to Romi's surprise and in a way Shlok. Ishita looked up and smiled saying

'Oh hey Sarika... Please have a seat...'' She said and Shagun knew if these two knew each other, then she may have been in trouble

'Hey Mrs. Bhalla...'' Said Sarika in a formal way

'Oh God please... Ishita... Let us maintain that...'' Said Ishita smiling before she turned to Shlok and said

'Shall we begin...'' But he was still staring which caused Romi to chuckle a bit as he took over

'Your department has been underperforming for a number of years now and yet you spend a lot on fabrics, trips to Milan and France, New York and all those conventions and yet there is no value for money. Care to explain...'' Said Romi

'What nonsense... Are you seriously expecting me to answer all that? Mr. Bhalla and Raman have never complained about the way I do my work...'' Said Shagun but Sarika just stayed quiet and didn't say a thing

'Well I am asking you and expecting you to answer...'' Said Ishita

'I don't have time for this...'' She said standing up

'Shagun, just answer and get this over and done with...'' Said Mr. Bhalla who was still having residual anger from the Santosh incident

'Fine... As an artist and a designer we need a lot of things to make sure we come up with fabric that of good quality and also designs that are unique in order to keep consumers coming back'' She said

'That doesn't answer how you spent all that money and two the so called uniqueness you are talking about hasn't sold in months.'' Said Ishita as she looked down at the file

'Who was in charge of the New York showing 2 months ago...'' Added Ishita as she turned to look at them both knowing exactly what the answer was going to be

'Both of us why...'' Said Shagun

'That can't be right... You were taking care of your fianc so there was no way you knew about what was going on. Unless youwant to take on the responsibility then we begin...'' Said Shlok with an insinuation that caused Shagun to worry abit

'I wasn't there but it was my job to be in the know...'' Said Shagun

'But you never worked on the project...'' Said Ishita

'Well no... But I took care of the designs and everything...'' Said Shagun

'Alright... Here...'' Said Ishita as she handed them both a plain paper and a clip board and a pencil

'Just draw for me the design patterns that were on the center piece presented'' She added

'What nonsense... No, I won't do it...'' Said Shagun

'Sarika come on sit over here...''Said Romi as he gave Sarika a seat at the opposite side of Shagun

'I am sure it won't even take long really...'' Said Ishita

'No... You're insulting my integrity...'' Said Shagun

'Then prove me wrong... I don't see what the problem is...'' Said Ishita

'I won't bow down to this... I won't do it Ishita. I don't ask you to prove your coding to be so...'' Said Shagun but Ishita interrupted

'Are you kidding? I take pride in that. Ask me to prove anything and I will type away. That is my work so I take pride in it. So you should too...Take pride in yours I mean'' She said clearly baiting Shagun but she wasn't going to bite

'Okay fine... Ansh ...'' She called her assistant who came in with three fabrics in the room

'Just choose which of these three was the center piece and then draw the same pattern there...'' Said Shlok

'This is bullshit... What do you hope to achieve?'' Shagun asked

'Well in the spirit of not wasting time, I will tell you. It has come to my knowledge that you have been stealing work from your juniors and taking credit for it. Now I told them there is no way that can happen because she is just as talented but they wouldn't believe me hence the charades. But I really think we should get back to work so just pick the damn center piece and let us get on with it...'' Said Mr. Bhalla looking at Shagun but not giving anything away

Shagun knew she was in hot water because she absolutely had no idea what the freaking center piece was. She never cared about those stupid conventions especially when she was not involved because there was nothing in it for her.

Her stupid assistant was always on and on about how they needed to change but Shagun was pretty content with what they were doing because it gave her more power over the projects. But now this convention given she wasn't there meant a lot changed so it was going to be hard.

She looked at the center pieces then saw a pattern that Sarika always had around and tried to hand in but Shagun would stop her. She figured it must have been an opportunity for her to show people that she was better hence it had to be it. So with no worry in the world she walked over to that center piece and said

'This one... This was the center piece...''

'And I am guessing you designed it...'' Said Ishita amused

'Well yes... As I did everything else...'' She said as she turned to look at Sarika with a sense of satisfaction

'Alright then... Mr. Bhalla, do need anymore proof'' Said Ishita much to Shagun's surprise

'Shagun... There was no center piece and there was no convention. They cancelled since there was no funding and these; she designed then like a month ago. I know because it was me who approved it for production...'' said Mr. Bhalla disappointed

'What... I mean wait... I was just...'' Said Shagun but she had no excuse

'Well that is that... Sarika, congratulations'' Said Ishita

'What for...'' She asked speaking after a long time

'Well you just become Head Designer RKB Fashions... Go to HR they will give you everything you need and your promotion letter as well'' Said Ishita causing Sarika to become a bit teary

'Congratulations...'' said Shlok as he smiled at her and she smiled back saying

'Thank you so much...'' And with that she walked out as she mumbled

'Oh God, did that just happen... That happened...'' she mumbled away

'Wait what does that mean...'' Said Shagun

'It means you have just been demoted...'' Said Ishita

'The new terms of your employment will be found with HR so do pass by when you get time. If you chose to disagree with them, here are some of the pamphlets we hand out for early retirement and some of the benefits that come with them. Your severance package will also be handed to you in a few months once it has been sorted out'' Said Kushan

'You can't do this to me? I can't leave here because Raman...'' She said but Mihir interrupted

'Got you here we know... Now he is not here and we are... '

'Any questions...'' Said Romi causing Shagun to look at him surprised and shocked

'Wow... Even you... I am your sister Romi not her...'' Said Shagun

'Actually right now she is my boss... I sort of have no say'' Said Romi carelessly

'What the hell happened to you? You are supposed to be my brother for God's sake'' Said Shagun

'And you were supposed to be my sister and yet... You and your father in law over here thought it would be funny to put me behind bars...'' Said Romi

'That is not fair, we thought...'' She tried to explain

CHAPTER THIRTY TWO

'Shagun just go... Let me handle this okay... I will take care of it'' Said Mr. Bhalla before Shagun got up and walked outangry as hell

This was not how it as supposed to be, this was not how it was supposed to be. She knew Ishita was going to dig and dig and sooner or later she would uncover the truth and that would out her in a butt load of trouble.

'That is enough humiliation for one day can we move on...'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'Is it? I was just getting started'' Said Ishita before she turned and told everyone that was all for the day and they would met the day after to begin on the projects

Why do you humiliate her like that...''He asked

'Oh you mean forgetting the fact that she utterly deserves it, it is much fun...'' Said Ishita

Shlok, Mihir, Kushan and Romi walked out knowing this conversation may take a turn none of them was interested in knowing. Everyone here, even Mr. Bhalla remembered the Ishita that was married, the sweet girl who loved her husband and nothing more except maybe her computers.

'What happened to you? I mean you were uncaring but this... this callousness is something even I never saw coming'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'Oh please... You have never thought anything more of me except the girl who came to take your family fortune and I would have done that if I wanted to believe me but...'' She said holding her tongue as she turned and began parking her bag

'And if you hate me so much why did you help my family... My kids...'' Said Mr. Bhalla that caused Ishita to look at him and normally she would walk away but then he said something that pissed her off

'See if I am to guess, it could he you just want a man to play daddy for your bas***d kids given I heard their father was in jail or something...'' Added Mr. Bhalla

'Okay first of all DO NOT INSULT MY CHILDREN. This had better be the last time that happens or I swear I will stop being civil and playing nice. I can be a bitch when I want to trust me...'' She answered looking straight at him much to his surprise

'Oh and for the record... I helped them for two very simple reasons one, I made a promise to your son that I intended on keeping and to my sister as well and the second one which is my favorite, I wanted to see the look on your face when you realized that it was me, the one person you hate so much that had them and their loyalty... That look...'' She added pointing at his face

'That is why I did it, to see that look of despair... Makes it absolutely worth it... And remember what I told you when you handed me divorce papers? Oh I am going to collect, best believe...'' She added again before she grabbed her bag and her phone walking to the door

'Be careful, your jaws might drop to the floor...'' She added

'That is the Ishita I remember... This self-righteous entitled spoilt brat...'' He said getting angry

'Oh am I know... That means your son has a type... that seems to be the only thing Shagun and I have in common.'' She said smiling something that pissed off Mr. Bhalla

'Who the hell do you take yourself for? You think you will just waltz in here and take away everything from me, from my son? You have another thing coming. I won't allow it'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'Hoyi Sussar... Calm down... I want a lot of things from that ungrateful son of yours. Money is not one of them. I am worth 4 times more than him; you really think I need his money? Besides I do not want him, I want something else, I want someone else... And I will get him best believe...'' Said Ishita

'What is that...'' He asked

'Why would I give you the satisfaction of knowing'' She said

'Just tell me what the hell you want such that you can leave my family alone...'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'To see you falling at my feet and begging just like my father did... And I will see to it that you do just that believe me...For every pain he had to endure when you humiliated him and took everything from him, trust me I am an Iyer and we never forget a debt. I will collect'' She said as tears filled her eyes before she walked away

Mr. Bhalla stood in that board meeting more shocked than ever. It had been a day of surprises but nothing prepared him for this. The woman who was walking out was not the nave one who married his son. This woman was smarter, wiser, braver, more courageous and most definitely out for blood with nothing to lose.

She had the money and resources or even more to match up to him and this time she was gunning for blood. There was a high possibility that Raman was just going to be collateral damage. He knew he had to get rid of her fast and he had to think of a plan fast as well. He figured her greatest weapons were her alias and he was going to make sure he got them on his side. It was the only way

Two Days Later

Ishita and her friends had managed to single handedly shatter an operation that had been going on at the Bhalla Companies for close to 5 years in under two months. Everyone had shattered and they had got rid of all the bread crumbs that were being left out of the oven. They knew they had to get rid of the actual culprits but it was going to be difficult since they kept their hands clean. So she just rattled them a little as they began to pain and she knew they would make mistakes, then she would get them, she spent 2 years preparing for them and she knew when it came to pass, she would be ready

Mr. Bhalla was in a world of his own teaming up with Mr. Jhakad as they tried to shatter what they thought was Ishita's camp while Shagun was also doing her ground work making sure that Raman gained as much of the memories of that fateful night at the rift although she was failing miserably.

Raman was still riddled with mystery and when he began narrating his story to Vandu is when he realized that as much as he remembered, he still had a lot of memories up in the air and he didn't quite know how to take that. So he too was looking for reinforcements and also people he thirsted to help him with this and he didn't know who else to turn to except these two... his brother and his lawyer

Mr. Bhalla and Mr. Jhakad got to the office and went straight to Mr. Bhalla's where they were waiting for him.

'I am so sorry we are late, got stuck in traffic...'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'Mind telling us what we are doing here'' Said Shlok

'And where is Ishita. You said this was supposed to be a company meeting'' Said Romi

'Well it is... I mean sort of, just give us an ear...'' Said Mr. Jhakad

'Okay... What is the problem...'' Said Shlok

Mr. Jhakad and Mr. Bhalla looked at each other before they turned to Shlok and Romi handing them both envelops

'What is this?'' Asked Shlok

'Check inside and you will see...'' Said Mr. Jhakad with pride

Romi who in all honesty just wanted to get the hell out of that place opened his first. He looked inside and his eyes almost popped out and Mr. Jhakad turned to Mr. Bhalla and nodded his head reassuringly

Shlok on the other hand didn't seem to be moved at all. He opened it, looked at it, put it back and put it down on the table

'What is the meaning of this...'' Said Shlok

'Yeah... I also want to know why you are writing me a cheque worth 30 Million...'' Said Romi

'Well good that you asked... In fact there is more of that if you just agree to our little predicament'' Said Mr. Jhakad all the while Mr. Bhalla was just sitting there and not saying anything

'And what might that be...'' Said Shlok who had a vague idea of where this was going

'Well all you have to do is come work for me, I mean us... Make a few things line our way and we shall make it your worthwhile...'' Said Mr. Jhakad

Romi frowned a bit not out of anger but more of shock not so sure how to even take what was being said here. Shlok scoffed first before he turned to Mr. Bhalla and said

'Really...''

'I am just looking out for my company and desperate times call for desperate matters. That woman won't leave me and my family alone...'' Said Mr. Bhalla worried

'Why do you seem more scared than you did three days ago? What did Ishu say to you? Oh she told you why she is actually here. Didn't she?'' Said Romi a bit amused

'No... This desperation... I think she just hinted. He has no idea and that is freaking him out. Not that I blame you. You need to be freaked out...'' Said Shlok as he smiled amused too

'Look we all want the same thing...'' Said Mr. Jhakad

'Do we... Really ...'' Said Shlok

'At the end of the day we all have ourselves to worry about and this money can keep on coming without you even doing anything just a few things here and there...'' Said Mr. Jhakad

'Wow I feel sorry for you. No... Like seriously... It is really sad'' Said Romi

'I don't know it I should be laugh because this is utterly ridiculous or I should be so angry for you two thinking so little of me and my integrity'' Said Shlok as he turned to look at Romi

'I go for the latter... Yields better results when I sue your asses for bribery and embezzlement'' Said Romi

'What embezzlement, I own this company'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'Uhhh No... You may be in the know but Ishita own this company...'' Said Shlok

'Wow if this is what your lawyers advise you to do given the money they get, I need to change professions because this is just embarrassing'' Said Romi who was mocking them intentionally

'Don't insult me...'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'Oh you mean like your insulting us'' Romi added

'What is it with you? Just take the money... 30 Mil is a lot of money and you will get your remaining 30 when the work is done. Just take it and stop pretending to be righteous. She doesn't give you anything and neither does she give you credit for anything. You just work under her like dogs while she takes the credit'' Said Mr. Bhalla causing Romi to laugh before he said

'Shlok should I take this or you will handle it...''

'Oh I got this...'' Said Shlok before he sat upright in the chair and said

'You know what RUADISH is right...'' Asked Shlok

'An online shopping center why...'' Said Mr. Jhakad

'No... No... Online shopping is a part of the business not all of it. We produce our own products we sell in addition to others that we handle for our clients. It is bigger than that'' Said Romi

'Ishita's company is worth a billion dollars or more in a few years... Then there is that coding she does for the government and they pay her close to 25 Million Dollars per year for and the last 6 years she has done some really amazing work for them thus making her worth more but around 150 Million Dollars... Now in addition to that we... Yes I said we, own 3 restaurants in Mumbai and Delhi each. We have RUADISH.COM offices in New York, California, Milan and here in Delhi. The Delhi one is sort of new so that is why we are living in India'' Said Shlok

'So what is the purpose of me knowing this...I hear a lot of Ishita this and that but nowhere does it say you'' Said Jhakad

'Mihika her sister own one of the restaurants in Mumbai while Romi and I own the other two. They are under these really good agencies where they handle everything so we don't need to be there all the time because business is covered. Ishita owns one in Delhi while Mr. and Mrs., Iyer own the other 2 in addition to shares in every RUADISH Line...Are we together so far...'' Said Shlok

'Mihika owns RUADISH Fashions, that's the one in Milan, I won the Delhi one because well, I wanted one close to home so I had to wait until they got a proper market. I handle the jewelry part. Shlok and Ishita's have the online thing. They are the computer people and are good at it too. Shlok hasNew York and Ishita has California that is where the heart of the company is. She is the brain so it felt appropriate. Mom and Dad have a 25% share in everything'' Said Romi smiling

'Now let me put that into math perspectives shall I. That makes me worth what... give or take... 150 Million Dollars... And I am not even counting my other business. So let that sink in and think about that and this little cheque you just gave me'' Said Shlok before he and Romi stood up

'If you want to buy my loyalty Mr. Bhalla... You need much more than that'' Said Romi causing Mr. Jhakad to sit back in utter shock

All of them knew that Ishita and Shlok were partners but whatever they were hearing was much more than they expected. Mr. Bhalla couldn't even compute in his head what that girl was now worth. She was loaded so maybe her vendetta really did have nothing to do with money and it was just utter revenge. He knew it. That he was in a butt load of trouble.

'You know Mr. Bhalla...'' Said Romi as he walked to the door

'It is not even about the money. My loyalty to Ishita has nothing to do with that. It is the fact that she has been there for me through it all and that little important factor, she actually is my sister, which makes her family and unlike you, where we come from...'' He said and Shlok completed

'WE NEVER MANPULATE OR XBETRAY FAMILY'' And with that they walked out

Mr. Bhalla sat back down knowing this had backfired faster than he anticipated. He knew it was a long shot but what he heard here today was a little out of this world even more. There was no way of coming back from this.

'They will come around... I will make sure of it'' Said Mr. Jhakad

'No they won't... I know they won't...'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'Oh please... Leave that to me. Everyone has a weakness. I am going to find theirs...'' Said Mr. Jhakad something that worried Mr. Bhalla a bit

'What are you going to do?'' said Mr. Bhalla

'Leave that to me. Don't worry...'' Said Mr. Jhakad as he watched them leave through the glass window

Meanwhile Raman was also on a mission of his own and he needed a way of telling these two that he was getting a few memories though not all. He went over to Mihir's where Kushan was supposed to be as well waiting for him given he had asked them to wait for him

'Dude you call us here then show up an hour late, what the hell...'' Said Kushan as placed the bottle of bear on his mouth

'Sorry... I had gone to see my doctor took longer than I expected'' Said Raman

'Oh are you okay...'' Said Mihir

'Yeah I am... I am not saying my neurologist, I meant my therapist'' Said Raman causing Kushan to almost choke on his drink

'I am sorry what...'' Said Kushan

'What do you mean therapist'' Said Mihir

'You know... A therapist ...Where you sit on a couch, and talk about whatever'' Said Raman

'Why are you seeing a therapist...'' Said Kushan

'Oh the better question, how the hell are you seeing a therapist'' Said Mihir utterly shocked

'Look I was going through a lot. I had all these flashes coming at me and I needed someone who I would talk to without holding back. Try living in that house with Mom dad Shagun and Ishita and all their problems. You will know what I am talking about'' Said Raman sitting down

'Wow... I get your point. Here you need a beer more than me'' Said Kushan handing him his bottle

'So you got anything yet... From the therapist I mean...'' Said Mihir

Raman took a sip of the beer still not certain whether or not to tell them that he had got his memories back. He really needed to talk to someone that had an idea of what was going on and the two people in that room were the only ones he truly trusted at that time. He had his memories but there are things that happened then that he had no idea about

CHAPTER THIRTY THREE

'Raman...'' Kushan called him causing him to turn and look at them

'Dude what is it?'' He added

'Can I trust you...'' Raman asked

'What sort if question is that? Of course you can...'' Said Kushan but Raman stayed looking at Mihir

'Yeah... You can... What is it?'' Said Mihir

'Ishita...'' Said Raman hesitating

'What about her...'' Said Mihir

'Is she... I mean... Is she with someone ' He asked vaguely

'What are you saying get to the point...'' Said Raman

'No while I was at the therapist talking, I remembered something how she was so upset with me that is why she went to work at the rift and ended up meeting that guy Abhimanyu...'' He said causing Mihir and Kushan to say

'Hold on... You remember'' They said

'Well yeah a few flashed here and there but I haven't told anyone yet and I am hoping to stays that way please...'' Said Raman

'Dude that is awesome...'' Said Kushan

'Yeah... And do not stress it. No one will know...'' Said Mihir

'Alright all I want to know is does that guy still come around the rift... I mean Ishita still owns it right...'' He said causing Mihir to look at him with pity

'What are you talking about?'' Said Kushan

'That guy... Raghav... Ishita had some work she was doing for him or with him but wouldn't tell me what it was. I just want to know if he is still around...'' Said Raman looking at them both

'Raman I don't think it is very good to stress...'' Mihir began but Raman interrupted

'Will you all stop treating me like I am some sort of friable baby. I am a man I can take whatever. Just tell me already. All I want to know if my wife is still seeing that man. ' He said

It was sad what his brother's life had come to. He was now grasping for straw on a relationship that if all memory was back, Mihir wasn't so sure he would want. Would it be easier? Yeah because then it meant they all got to heal one way or the other but this was Ishita they were talking about, she didn't let go so easily especially when it came to her family

'Okay Raman what exactly do you remember...'' Said Mihir

'Mihir you can't...'' Said Kushan

'Relax... He can take it... Right Raman ...'' Said Mihir

'Yeah... I am more than capable...'' Said Raman trying to convince Kushan

'Fine... But if he starts those famous episodes I hear, we stop and call a doctor...'' Said Kushan

'Okay then... Tell me what you remember...'' Said Mihir

'When I left for Goa she was still depressed and sad. She could barely get out of bed. When I got back, it was different. She had changed'' Said Raman

'Changed how...'' Said Kushan

'She was a bot livelier and happier which was a good thing but also a bit bizarre. I wanted to believe that she had gotten better but something was a bit off. I knew it but couldn't put my finger on what it was exactly. So the very jealous husband in me decided to spy on her ...'' Said Raman

'You did what...'' Said Mihir who didn't know this little fact

'I know it was wrong given everything was happening because of me and I know I pushed her away but I need to know if he is still around such that I can... I don't know... Understand what I am working with...'' Said Raman

'Why do you talk like you blame yourself for this'' Said Kushan

'Because everything happened because of me...'' Said Raman

'Whoa... Whoa hold on... Look yes it sucked what happened to both of you ad yes both of your could have dealt with it instead of pushing each other away but Ishita didn't make it easy to care for her'' Said Mihir

'What do you mean'' Said Raman

'The night you went to Goa, mom had gone to ask her down for dinner and unlike most times, she agreed that day. Mom prepared her favorite dished and everything. Dad got home exchanged pleasantries with her, like he always did and she like always did the same. But after we had had dinner, one of the most awkward one that I have ever had by the way she blurted out that she was going back to the rift...'' Said Mihir

'Wait... What...'' Said Raman and Mihir sat down and began the conversation

'Look...''

'Ishu maybe we should talk about this later when you are well rested'' Said Santosh

'No I want to talk about this now... I have got a job that I am going to start working on in four days and I don't have equipment here so I need to go to the rift'' Said Ishita

'I mean after everything isn't it so soon to go back to work. You need to rest someone and deal with...'' Said Santosh

'No I have dealt with it enough. I want to work. I am bored out of my mind and I need to keep myself busy. Besides if Raman can go off to Goa for work, I think I can leave and go as well. It is not as far anyway'' She said

'Look Raman has responsibilities that he had to handle...'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'Well even I have responsibilities that I need to handle...'' Said Ishita

'You can't work there... That place id so unsafe... If you want a job come to office I will think of something for you to do.'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'Oh I am sorry... I can't accept your very generous offer...'' Said Ishita sarcastically before she added

'I have a job, one that I happen to love so that is the one I will do''

'You just want to stress everyone out. It is not fair that we get to the ones to tolerate your tantrums and your anger. I lost a grandchild as well in case you don't know but I don't go around punishing everyone for it...'' Said Mr. Bhalla something that even he regretted saying

He was frustrated with her yes but this was no way to deal with it and definitely not like that

'We Mr. Bhalla I am the one who had to have a caesarian for a baby that I didn't even get to hear cry. I was alone and scared and hurting in that hospital waiting room for hours. This grandchild that you claimed to have lost like you cared happened to be my son and I will deal with it in any way I see fit. If I am going to be angry for the rest of my life so be it. I am entitled'' Said Ishita as she placed her fork down and stood up

'By the way regardless of what you say, I am going back to work...'' She added

'She walked back upstairs leaving everyone there a bit stunned. It was still amazing the things she said to him and also got away with half the time'' Said Mihir slightly impressed

'Wait... She spoke to your father like that and there was no world war III... 'Said Kushan

'Oh believe me... World war III did happen... but it was after a couple of things happened and Ishita sort of went over the board to prove her point...'' Said Mihir

'Which was what exactly...'' Said Raman

'That she was smatter than dad and he didn't take a liking to that at all...'' Said Mihir

'So that was the last of the, he just allowed her to go...'' Said Kushan

'Don't be ridiculous of course not. She made up her mind and he was also adamant on his stance. When the project started at the rift Ishita had to be there. I was there mostly in the other room as the one they worked in was always closed and no one was allowed in withour clearance...'' Said Mihir

'Clearance from whom...'' Said Raman

'Oh the Indian government through their cybercrime division... She was decrypting some codes for them and stuff...''Said Mihir much to Raman's surprise and Kushan who was totally impressed at this point

'Anyway she went to work that day and got back a bit late something that didn't sit well with my dad so when she walked back home. All hell broke loose...'' Said Mihir

'Where the hell have you been? Do you know what time it is?'' Barked Mr. Bhalla

'Oh God I am way too exhausted for this right now. Can't we postpone this screaming match for tomorrow that way I will be refreshed enough to respond'' Said Ishita lazily as she walked past him

Mr. Bhalla looked at her and was angry at her total disregard for everyone else and also her total lack of respect. He grabbed her by the hand and dragged her to the wall as he pointed at the wall clock

'Do you see that...? It is 1;00am in the morning. What kind of married woman comes back to her husband's house at 1;00 am without even telling everyone where she has gone to'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'What do you mean? I told you where I was and you just chose not to believe me. I was working and two I was safe I know for a fact because I was given a bodyguard to get me here. This is ridiculous I am going to bed...'' Said Ishita

'Oh no you are not. If this job of yours is more important than this family, this will be the part where you walk out of my house...'' He said

'Vishu that is enough let her go. She is home safe at least'' Said Santosh who was angry but more rationale than her husband

'No...She is just taking us for granted and also using the death of a child as an excuse to act out'' said Mr. Bhalla

'Why did he always have to refer back to her child? That was not right'' Said Kushan

'I know and in a way I get why she wanted to get out of that house. It was suffocating to try and be what the great Mr. Vishu Bhalla wanted. She lost her son, her husband was way and I think she just wanted something to keep her mind off of it all. So just like Raman ...'' Said Mihir and Raman interrupted

'She wanted to drown herself in work as well...'' He said

'Exactly but that is something dad wouldn't understand. He threatened her all the time for the next days and she in turn would listen and then do the exact same thing the following day. I admired her guts because she never hide from anyone where she worked, her hours of work and whenever she was going to be late, she would inform my mother. Now things simmered down a little when my dad realized that there was no way he was going to win with this and Raman's staying in Goa was dependent on Ishita being okay'' Said Mihir

'What do you mean?'' Said Raman

'Oh come on Raman... You really think if dad told you that she and he were at it again you would stay there. We all knew except Ishita of course. Dad was telling you that she was getting better little by little but the thing he neglected to do was actually try and make sure that she was getting better. He genuinely though her going back to work helped'' Said Mihir

'This is ridiculous... Why do they hate each other so much anyway... I don't get it... This has to be much more than just Ishita being independent and that rift...'' Said Kushan

'It was... It is... but that is something Ishita will have to tell him herself ...'' Said Mihir

'So you have no idea as well...'' Said Raman

'I do but that is not my story to tell...'' Said Mihir

'So what happened after that...'' Said Raman

'It continued until that Saturday, the one where you were supposed to come back from Goa...'' Said Mihir

'Yeah I remember... I was supposed to come back to decide to stay a little longer such that I finished everything and didn't have to go back later...'' Said Raman

'Yeah... There was just one thing you forgot...'' Said Mihir

'What was that...'' Said Raman

'To tell you wife...'' Said Mihir

'Ishu today you're not going to work...'' Said Simmi as she sat down at the breakfast table where Ishita was

'No... I wanted to stay around be here when Raman gets home...'' Ishita answered

'Oh ho... Ishu... ' Said Simmi teasingly causing Ishita to smile as her cheeks were filled with red

'I really missed him and can't wait to see him.'' Said Ishita

'Who did you miss...'' Said Mihir who was joining them for breakfast as well as Mr. and Mrs. Bhalla who were coming down from their room

'Ishu is missing her hubby so she took a day off...'' Said Simmi

'Wow an entire day, so generous of you...'' Said Mr. Bhalla sarcastically but Ishita just ignored him

'Did he tell you when he will be getting here...'' Ishita asked looking at Santosh

'No... I talked to him last night but it was only for a minute. He talked to his father after that so maybe he knows...'' Said Santosh looking at her husband

'Wait... He called and talked to you...'' Said Ishita a bit surprised

'Well yeah, we talk at least once a day so yesterday he was just checking on me...'' Said Santosh but Ishita kept quiet

Mr. Bhalla's phone went off and he left the breakfast table to go and receive it. Ishita served breakfast she had prepared and took care of everyone and after about 5-8 minutes. Mr. Bhalla walked back to the room

'That was Raman, he says the deal isn't finalized yet and there are a few more things he needs to take care of so he won't be back for another week or so...'' Said Mr. Bhalla whose face couldn't hide the fact that he was elated

'Wait, what do you mean, a week or so...'' Said Ishita

'A week or so... I don't know how you want me to elaborate on that any more than that...'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'Vishu come on...'' Said Santosh before she turned to Ishita and said

'Listen maybe there is a really good reason as to why he is not here yet. I am sure he will tell you...''

'Yeah... I know Raman he wouldn't have stayed if it wasn't completely necessary'' Said Simmi who was trying to console her

'0775010305...'' Ishita said as she stared at hers and Raman's wedding photo that was framed and placed in the living room but could be seen from the dinning

'What is that...'' Said Santosh

'The next time he calls you... Tell him that is my number and when he gets time from his precious schedule, tell me to call me...'' Said Ishita before she got up and walked away

'She walked back upstairs, changed clothes and got her bag and walked out. We didn't see her for almost three days. She had gone back to her parent's house. I always wanted to ask though. What the hell were you thinking not talking to her for close to 3 weeks given how vulnerable she was then'' Said Mihir

'I don't know... When I talked to dad he told me that she was getting better so I figured maybe if I stayed away some more she may deal with it. I didn't know it was getting worse like that...'' Said Raman

'Didn't Mr. Bhalla tell you what she said'' Said Kushan

'No... This is the first time I am hearing of this...'' Said Raman

'Yeah well I don't think any of us anticipated how much it would escalade until Raman here came back...'' Said Mihir

'I have to say though Ishita isn't an easy person at all...'' Said Kushan

'No she isn't and she is very stubborn as well...'' Said Mihir looking at Raman and holding back whatever else he wanted to say

Raman seemed like he was being told a story that was happening in another person's life and not his. This is not how he remembered it. This is not what he was told. He was told that she was grieving and that she was dealing with it as expected.

He stayed away, not because he didn't care but he thought it would make it easier for her and he hoped that maybe when he got back, she would have been more willing to talk about it all.
