Tell us something about Warrior High'.
It's a sort of Enid Blyton's school book, about life in an upmarket boarding school where the children of the rich and famous come to study in something like the Doon School, or the Mussorie school, and the show explores the life and events and situations happening with the teachers and student in such a school like 'Warrior High'.
What is your character like?
I play a teacher who comes from an once very rich family but has now gone bankrupt and she has to earn her daily bread by teaching at 'Warrior High' forgetting her past and how she has to adjust to a simple school teacher life from a life with designer Gucci and Prada brands that she wore in her old rich family life.
Did you draw on any experiences from your real life?
As we all go to schools and experience the friends and the teachers and the various negative and positive things, that we go through and this is what I draw upon while essaying my character.
How many episodes are we looking at?
We are looking at a six months' season.
How do you react to the recognition and fame that you are getting now?
It's wonderful to be recognised and when one's work is appreciated , I feel high especially since I hail from Delhi and had only done active theatre in college and I came to Mumbai at a young age and didn't know anyone but my parents support and my quest for good work has helped me to gain whatever I have earned.
How was it like working with veteran actors on the show?
Until now I have shot only with Suhasini Mulay and she is a wonderful actor and I got to learn a great deal from her.
Will you accept reality shows?
Depends on what the format is. I won't do something like 'Big Boss' or 'Fear Factor'. But if it is a dance reality show or a talent hunt show, I would definitely like to do them.
What kind of shows do you like to watch?
I like to see some light hearted stuff like 'Comedy Nights with Kapil Sharma' or other such stand up comedy reality shows. But I don't like to watch heavy duty emotion laden shows or 'saas bahu' shows unless they have good content.
What about films?
I would like to do some films if I get good roles.
