@Kitsin niyati always gives you choices. The choices will be difficult, but then if you don't take the difficult choice most probably niyati will force you to take that choice in the most brutal manner.
I don't know whether you have seen MB in Starplus. One of the most beautiful moments of the war was where Krishna confronts Bheeshma, Drona and Karna asking them some questions and humbles them. When they say situation forced, he asks adhering to dharma is rising above situation, take the best out of every situation.
To Bheeshma he says his crime was not taking the right decisions and in name of the pledge listening and doing all the adharma said by others. He says man is responsible for his actions. If no has to be said it has to be said, you cant say someone forced me to do it or I was tied by pledge so I need to do this adharma
To Drona he asks what values did he give his son. If his son goes his duty over. He wanted his son to be proud of him, but a good parent should be such that they should be proud of their ward.
To Karna he asks what he has done to the upliftment of people in his community. He had special talents. instead of surrendering those talents to Duri and end up in a nonexistent enemity with Arjuna he would have used his talent to the upliftment of the community. Yes what happened to him was wrong, but taking Duri's side was not the answer to it.
Everyone is responsible for his or her actions and I would always say if it is a battle of head and heart. Listen to heart. It never lies and it can show you the right path also if you listen to it closely. And I have many personal experiences where I have chosen heart over head and followed its path to reach the success.
