Disagree on Dramoine.
I quite agree as actors, Tom Felton and Emma Watson have chemistry (then again, so do Daniel Radcliffe and Emma watson) but I didn't find it there in the books, not between the characters of Draco and Hermione.

I relate a lot to Hermione, so I can see why JKR paired her and Ron. Honestly, I love Ron and Hermione, though I confess, I have often toyed with the idea of Fred and Hermione too, especially in book 5.

I don't think Draco would work with Hermione because he's quite selfish. He has a lot of "me myself" stuff going on, and while I will never agree that he is evil, Hermione tends to be very judgemental, and even if, in an alternate universe, they got together, Draco would hurt Hermione badly with cutting remarks on her "blood status" and she would spare no words in condemning him for supporting Voldemort.
As it happens, both of them would be left. broken. and I am not a fan of relationships that break you.

Ron and Hermione, on the other hand, do fight a lot, but also, I found Ron standing up for Hermione right through the books, most obviously in CoS, but also many times later on. Also, Hermione leans on Ron for support, as evidenced in Book 5.
Ron is well able to stand up for himself and return Hermione's snark without crossing the line (yes he does cross the line at time, but not most of the time) and I feel someone intense and serious like Hermione would greatly appreciate someone who can make her laugh, and teach her not to take life so seriously.
it's one of the reasons why I also feel Fred and Hermione might have worked as well.

I am a HUGE fan of Lily and James. I started loving them right from the moment we saw glimpses of them in PoA, when James told Lily to run with Harry.
And then JKR gave us that brief moment in Snape's memory where I fell in love with them for good.
Sure, James comes across as arrogant, but there is a charm in his arrogance...and Lily, berating him furiously, leaves. And when James asks Sirius "What is it with her?"
❤️
Of course, Lily and James never really got a full story, but lots of things are inferred...
I love that Lily clearly has a wicked-humour streak in her, which would go with James very well. I doubt it's the bad-boy aura which worked for her and James, and I certainly wouldn't call Lily's falling for James as a hormonal thing. Because it is implied that Sirius was the handsome one, the one who was far more likely to have the bad-boy status.

What probably set James and Snape apart that James grew up while Snape didn't. When James found out his best friend was a werewolf, he and his friends learned how to become Animagi so he wouldn't be alone.
Snape was a bigot. A word like "Mudblood" doesnt slip out unless ur used to using it.
Also, James saved Snape's life- at great risk to his own-, yet, Snape wasn't too concerned about James. Or Harry, when he found out that Voldemort was after the Potters.
I loved Lily so much when she cut the friendship with Snape- not because I hate Snape- I don't- but she didn't deserve to continue a relationship that would in the end hurt her. Snape could, and should, have chosen the one person who would have accepted him unconditionally.

BTW, is it just me or does anyone else agree that Harry may have got Quidditch talents and looks from his father, but the snarky comments he gives when he's irritated or angry are so Lily? Also, I have noticed that Harry can lash out when he's angry- and lash out where it hurts.
Lily is the same with Petunia, James, and Snape.

Lily and James are one of my fav HP pairs, not because they're perfect, but because they aren't.

🤗
i dunno whom i love more - Dramione or Jilly.
i was one of those people who fell in love with both due to Fanfictions. didnt ever consider Dramione till i read isolation( its d best FF in case u r wondering) and i have loads of frndz who never even knew dramione existed (on d net) till i told them..so i dont think there was any chemistry between them in the books. i never noticed anyting though.
whereas Ron-Hermione did have the perfect chemistry..the way they fought, argued, sticked to each other for everything.
i really dont get why people dont like ron..he is one of my favourite character.the mistakes that he's made only prove that he is a human afterall. everyone makes mistakes and then you learn from them.
He was actually responsible for makin harmony (and us) laugh most of the times throughout the books.
i sort of have a soft spot for guys with a sense of humor..i love fred/george(as u can c from my name ;)
Dramione Is Life <3

Jilly - snilly Sucks..seriously i cant even imagine those 2 together( just like hermione-snape..i found out soo many people ship dese two-eww) Jame and lily are sooo perfect for each other. I am so glad we got to snape's memory of theirs..even though it showed james as a bad guy..and like sum1 says i always thought harry was more like lilly than like james. He got james looks and quidditch talent, but harry's personality is more like his mum.

@Bold : I am a huge Dramione fan but i sorta agree with you there. when i recently read the books after quite a long time(i used to read almost everyday then got obsessed with FF's ) i realised that maybe if you see the character in the books dramione wouldnt actually work. maybe after the 7th book if draco had a major personality change it would be the best thing ever<3.
fred/hermione is one of those pairs that make me go Nahhh for some reason. i do agree they might actually work ( but it would be just similar to romione) i just cant get to accept those 2.

and Harmony..never/ except that dance scene in DH movie i always looked at them as siblings which is why JKR'S comment about those 2 might be better than romione after soo many years actually made me very upset! the way she has written them throughout the series just make us see them as sibling(atleast me)..

@-GredForge- actually, she didn't. She never really said that she regretted Romione. I read the full IV. Even Emma Watson agreed she was misquoted and that it was a joke.

Oh! i remember reading in the paper about how she 'regretted' Romione and wished she could have put hermione-harry together.
I really hope what u r saying is true.

@GredForge, what she basically meant was that Harry and Hermione look good on paper but she went ahead with Romione because she wanted it. And also Ron has the ability to make her laugh, unlike Harry.
She only said that Ron and Hermione might have had problems later on in their marriage, that Ron needed to work on his insecurity and Hermione on being overcritical.
There was nothing which said that she regretted it. Why don't you read the full transcript? It's quite cute. :)

Of course there are a lot of Dramione <3 Moments in Hp books if you look in close enough (and imagine accordingly)

I mean Hermione is such an intelligent witch she could have easily hexed Draco if she wanted to but no she chose to do it the Muggle way obviously she just wanted to have a human contact with him. To touch those soft cheeks of his without raising suspicions so she chose to punch him . How romantic.
