Hello Buddies,
Here's Chapter 25, LAST PART, for LOVE HAPPENS. This one goes out to ALL my readers who have read, liked and commented on the story. I would never have been able to write it if it were not for the support and love that I got from all of you. As much as you all enjoyed reading it, I enjoyed writing it too. I hope with this last chapter I am able to do justice to the ending of this story and again hope that you all like it as much as all the previous chapters. Thank you all once again and Happy Reading.
A/N : To compensate for the delay, this update (as a few of my lovely readers wanted) is extrrreeemely long (precisely 5532 words. Phew), so I have divided it into 2 parts. Don't worry, both the parts have been updated together, but in separate posts. Please don't get too bored reading it. AND PLEASE DON'T QUIT IN BETWEEN. Meine bahut mehnat ki hai is story ko complete karne mein (I have worked very hard on the last update).

Chapter 25 (a)
Zoya woke up with a smile on her face. She knew today would be the best day of the life, something every girl looks forward to since adolescence. She quickly took a shower and was just about to go out when she received a call from Asad. She immediately answered her phone.
"Hey, you up already?"
"Hi, I could hardly sleep."
"Why?" she asked surprised.
"Too excited for today; Why? Aren't you excited?"
"I am Asad, I am. More than I can express. I hope everything goes well."
"Everything will be ok Jaan. Why are you so scared?"
"I am not scared, just that I want everything to be perfect. You won't understand. It's a girl thing. Like every normal girl, I too want my wedding day to be perfect."
"It will be Zoya, it will be. As much as this day is special for you, it's for me too. I won't let anything go wrong. It's not just your special day, it's our special day." Both continued talking for a while when Zoya heard Zeenat shout out her name to wake her up. Looking at the time Zoya panicked and after a rushed goodbye she disconnected the call.
The rest of the day passed in a blur, where on one hand Asad was calm and composed and went about all the preparations that he needed to do to welcome his bride home, Zoya had been going crazy running around the house to finish her last minute packing and coordinating with her friends to have the beautician brought in time. She didn't want to be late even a second.
As evening neared Dilshaad literally pushed Asad into his room to get ready for the nikaah. As he came out Dilshaad and Najma looked at him in aww. Dressed in a golden beige sherwani with golden thread and zardozi work all over, paired with a maroon churidaar, he looked no less than a prince. Dilshaad went upto him and took him in an embrace shedding a few tears of happiness. "You look like a prince beta. I can't tell you how happy I am today. Just around a year ago, I thought I would never see this day. You were never ready to get married, but Allamuduilillah, you have finally given me this happiness." With that she kissed his forhead blessing him with the world's happiness.
Najma was too excited as finally her brother was getting married and she would have someone to call Bhabhi. She went and hugged him thanking him for his decision and then finally in a low voice told him how handsome he looked. Both Asad and Dilshaad smiled at her expression and Asad wound his arms around them both pulling them into a hug. Soon, they left with the rest of their relatives and friends for the Farookhi Mansion to get Zoya home, Her home. Asad couldn't help smiling at that thought and tried to deep breath to calm his heart which was beating frantically due to all the excitement.
At Farookhi Mansion, Zoya also was getting dressed to go out and meet her Asad. Everytime the thought of finally become Mrs. Zoya Asad Ahmed Khan crossed her mind her cheeks would turn red. All the while she was being teased by her friends for the blush. At one point even the beautician said she didn't need to apply a blush-on as her cheeks were already so red.
As soon as Zeenat got news that Dilshaad was on her way she rushed into Zoya's room sending everyone off to check on their respective duties. Zeenat then looked back at Zoya and stood there, her eyes brimming with tears. Zoya looked at her through the mirror and immediately went to her Aapi hugging her tightly to herself. Both cried silently holding onto each other. After a few minutes Zeenat pushed her away gently and then wiped her tears. "Now stop crying Zoya or you are going to ruin all your makeup. I just came to tell you that they have already left and now you need to hurry up." Smiling Zeenat left the room. Zoya was wearing an offwhite lehnga with beautiful golden booties and a mahroon border. The long choli was a striking contrast of maroon with heavy gold and silver embroidery on it. Both Asad and Zoya's dresses had been selected keeping in mind that they needed to complement each other.
Once ready the beautician left wishing Zoya a happy married life. She waited for her Aapi to come see her. Suddenly remembering something she sent Asad a message "Do you remember, during Jiju's case you had stayed a night here?" and immediately got his reply "Yes."
"That night you had said you will ask me for a bigger favor when the time is right, but you haven't done so. Why?"
Asad chuckled at her and replied "I didn't need to... I got what I wanted."
"What?" was her next question.
Asad rolled his eyes and replied "YOU."
Zoya read his message and smiled wide, looking up she thanked Allah for sending him in her life.
She thought where her Aapi was and as soon as the thought had crossed her mind the door opened and she saw her Aapi and Jiju walk in. Both stood at the door looking at their princess dressed in her bridal wear. As if on cue the three walked towards each other, eyes brimming with tears. Zeenat held her arms out and Zoya simply crashed into her Aapi, realization dawning on her that this is her last evening in her room as an unmarried girl and that now she will not be seeing her sister and Jiju everyday. Silently shedding a few tears the sisters finally let go and Anwar came forward taking his princess in a hug caressing her head to comfort her.
"Zoya if you cry so much already, what will you do when it's actually time to leave bache? Asad won't take you if you cry so much." As soon as Zoya heard that she gasped "Jiju, that's exactly what he said when I cried talking to him before the mehndi function." Zeenat and Anwar laughed at her innocence and Zeenat said "You really think so Anwar? Am sure he is very eager to take her away. Poor guy has been waiting for a long long time now." Zoya giggled at that and after a final family hug Zeenat and Anwar left her to go and attend to the guests.
The villa had been tastefully decorated with soft gold flowing curtains and deep red roses in bunches all over. Shimmery mirror trinkets hung all around making the whole place shimmer. It all looked so simple but beautiful and the appreciation could be seen on the faces of one and all who came to attend the nikah. Soon Dilshaad was at the door with Asad and Najma along with her side of relatives and friends. Zeenat and Anwar welcomed them all with open arms and escorted Asad to the small stage where he and Zoya were to be seated for the nikah. Zeenat signaled the caterers to bring refreshments for the groom and his family.
All this while the only thing Asad wanted was to get a glimpse of his Zoya. It had been more than 24 hours he hadn't seen her and almost 12 hours that he had heard her voice. Since the time they had become friends and then grown closer it had never been like this and he was now getting impatient to see her. As discretely as possible he kept looking up the stairs waiting for her and then he heard what he had been wanting for. He heard the maulvi saab tell Zeenat to bring the bride as it was now time for the nikaah. As soon as he heard that he couldn't move his eyes away from the stairs. He remembered how on their engagement she had wanted him to be the first to see her. Hoping, that is what she wanted now too, he kept his eyes at the top of the stairs waiting for his bride to come out.
As soon as Zoya stepped foot on the stairs her eyes looked in his direction and a small nervous smile broke out on her lips. Her head had been covered with the veil hiding here eyes and only a part of her nose and lips were visible. But the smile on her lips told Asad that she knew he saw her and he reciprocated her smile. With her heart beating faster every second, Zoya descended the stairs to go and take her seat in front of Asad. Her breathing became jagged as she shook with uncontrollable nervousness 'Aapi, please stay here with me' she whispered 'I am right here Zoya, I am not going anywhere.' Though they were sitting in front of each other, both couldn't see the other because of the veil that had been hung between the bride and the groom. Making it even more difficult was the fact that Zoya had her head covered by her dupatta and Asad too was wearing the floral veil a groom was supposed to wear.
Soon the maulvi joined the two families on the stage and started the ceremony by reciting a few verses from the Holy Quran. After asking the almighty to keep his watchful eye on one and all, he read the nikah out.
'Bismillah Irahma Niraheem' (In the name of Allah the most merciful the most kind)
Asad Ahmed Khan, son of Rashid Ahmed Khan your Nikah has been arranged with Zoya Farookhi daughter of Late Gaffur A Siddiqui, With a Haq Mehr of one thousand and one rupees, aap ko Qubool Hai
Asad looked up a little and with a smile playing on his lips said
Qubool Hai
The minute those beautiful words reached her ears a wave of cold air washed over her, Zoya sucked in a breath as she tried to control her racing heart.
As the Imam stepped closer to Zoya she tightened her grip on her Aapi's hand
Zoya Farookhi, daughter of Late Gaffur A Siddiqui, Your Nikah has been arranged with Asad Ahmed Khan, son of Rashid Ahmed Khan with a Haq Mehr of one thousand and one rupees, kya aap ko Qubool Hai
'Jee Qubool Hai'
Finally letting out the air that she was holding on to Zoya took her first breath as a married woman, as Asad's wife.
Everyone around started smiling, they hugged one another congratulating them on their new alliance.
Zeenat and Anwar walked Zoya and Dilshaad walked Asad to the centre of the stage and their veils were lifted. As soon as Asad looked at her his breathing stopped and his heart pounded so hard that he could hear his own heart beat. He stood there looking at the most beautiful woman there ever could be. He knew he could bet his life on it that there was never and there could never be any bride as beautiful as His Zoya. He kept looking at her but she still had not raised her eyes to look at him. Like a chant he kept saying her name in his head calling out to her to look at him just once.
Zoya felt too shy to even raise her eyes to look at Asad. She knew he was looking like a prince, she had seen him through her veil. But seeing him up close would be an altogether different feeling. She knew he already looked like a prince even in the most casual clothes that he wore. She felt his gaze on her and her heart beat faster. She felt Zeenat nudge her arm a little and only then did she look up. As her eyes locked with his all she saw in them was immense love. The two shared a small smile and then were taken to the couch in the centre of the stage and made to sit side by side.
When they were finally seated both looked at each other and smiled wide. Asad shifted towards her a little and held her hand and whispered "You took my breath away Mrs. Khan." Zoya could feel her cheeks turn red and then looking in his eyes said "And you look no less than a prince Asad, My Prince." They smiled at each other and quickly Asad bent forward and placed a soft kiss on her temple. Feeling shy Zoya tried pulling her hand from his grip but he held it even tighter. Looking around she glared at him reminding him that they were not alone. He just shook his head negatively and in a low voice said "I won't let go. It's been more than 24 hours that I saw you and many many more hours that I held your hand. I missed you like crazy" he whispered looking deep into her eyes.
Zoya felt her body burst into goosebumps at his confession. She could feel her cheeks burning and turn a deeper shade of red. She looked him in the eyes and tightened her hold on his hand too and then whispered "Me too." Their little moment was disturbed when Zeenat came forward bringing along an array of drinks and snacks for the bride and groom. Soon all their relatives and friends were on the dance floor pulling them along and the celebration continued till the late hours in the night.
As the time neared for Zoya to leave her Aapi's house, the atmosphere filled with emotions. Everyone could see she was trying to keep herself together but her eyes glazed with unshed tears. Asad kept her hand in his drawing circles on the back of her palm to sooth her. He saw Zeenat and Dilshaad deep in conversation. After a brief discussion Zeenat and Dilshaad agreed that it was time. Asad who had been keeping an eye on them realized what they had just discussed and quietly getting up made place for Anwar and Zeenat to sit with her for a few minutes. With tears rolling down their cheeks Zeenat and Anwar draped their arms around Zoya's shoulders holding her close to themselves. It didn't take long for Zoya's tears to escape her eyes and her body shook as she cried holding onto her family. She heard her Aapi and Jiju both console her in broken voices but that didn't help. No matter what they said she just couldn't let go of them. She clung onto Zeenat crying even harder. Like a movie, her life played right in front of her eyes reminding her of all the happy times she had spent in this very villa. Her sobs went out of control when she remembered all the times she was hurt or unwell and how her Aapi had always been there for her.
Anwar sat next to them, crying silently but holding them both in his arms trying to give them the strength they needed. As soon as Zoya felt the tremor in Anwar's chest she looked up at him. As she saw his red eyes and his face stained with tears she wrapped her arms around him and cried holding onto him. She knew that her Jiju had been both, a father and a brother in law to her and it made it even more difficult for her to leave him and go away. As Anwar felt her hold tighten he too held her close to himself. They tried consoling each other but it only increased the pain of separation.
A few steps away Dilshaad stood holding onto Asad's arm crying. She knew what it felt like to leave your parents house and move into a new setup to start a new life with a new name and a new family all together. She knew it was a painful departure for every girl only to embrace a beautiful future and life with her husband. She didn't want to hurry things up as it was a very emotional moment and every girl had a right to let go at her own pace. Her gaze fell on Najma who was standing on the other side of Asad holding his arm tightly and crying. Dilshaad moved towards her and Najma threw her arms around her Ammi and cried realizing she too will have to leave one day. Dilshaad and Asad realized the same and held her between themselves.
Finally Anwar gently detangled Zoya from himself and wiping her tears shook his head telling her not to cry any more. He nodded his head in Asad's direction and Zoya saw him standing a few steps away patiently waiting for her. He smiled at her which she reciprocated with a small smile but tears still rolling down her cheeks. Zeenat and Anwar took her in an embrace one last time before guiding her towards the door. She took one last look around and let the last of her tears out of her eyes. As she neared the door, Zoya saw Dilshaad, Najma and Asad already outside waiting for her with smiles on their faces trying to make her smile too. She looked at her Aapi and Jiju and gave them a small smile which looked more like a frown because of all her crying.
Anwar and Zeenat smiled at her warmly giving her strength through their eyes. As they came to the door Anwar went and took Asad's hands in his and said "Please look after our princess. She is the most precious thing Zeenat and I have ever had. It's like we have given our life in your hands Asad." Asad held his hands in a firm grip and answered "I will Jiju, she rules my heart and she's my life, my everything, I will not let any harm or any evil come near her. I promise." Anwar hugged Asad and Zeenat went and hugged Dilshaad conveying her feelings through her embrace. Dilshaad held Zeenat in a tight embrace and said "Don't worry. I will keep your princess safe and happy in my house. I promise afterall she is now my princess too." Zeenat smiled at Dilshaad. Zeenat looked at Asad with pleading eyes to which he held her in a side hug and assured her "Don't worry Aapi she will keep coming back here more often than you would want." Hearing this Zeenat finally chuckled and thanked Asad for understanding.
After a few more minutes of hugging and bidding goodbye to everyone, Asad led Zoya to his car and helped her settle in. Najma got in next to her and Asad went and sat from the other side. Dilshaad sat in front and then Asad ordered the driver to drive off. Zoya looked out the window waving a good bye to her Aapi, Jiju and all her friends and relatives with a smile on her face and blowing kisses at them. Anwar and Zeenat laughed at her antics right at the last minute and seeing them laugh Zoya too gave them one of her brightest smiles. As the car drove off she did turn her head around to look at them just one last time and as soon as they were out of her sight, her head shot in his direction.
She saw Asad looking at her all amused. Seeing his expression she smiled at him. Asad so wanted to hold her in his arms to comfort her, but knew he couldn't in front of his Ammi and Najma. Zoya saw the change in his expression and asked him with her eyes what it was. He shook his head and gently held her hand which she had unconsciously placed on his knee as soon as she had lost sight of her Aapi and Jiju. Zoya looked at their joined hands and blushing she tried to free her hand indicating with her eyes that Dilshaad was right there. Like previously in the evening he shook his head negatively and Zoya had to give in. She let him entwine their fingers and then wrap his other palm over their joined hands.

Chapter 25 (b)
As they reached the Khan Villa, Dilshaad put her arm across Zoya's shoulders and took her into her new house. Zoya saw the house beautifully decorated with her favorite flowers and looked at Dilshaad with a surprised expression. Dilshaad nodded her head in Asad's direction and Zoya understood it was all his idea. She looked around the house taking in every detail of the decoration and planning that had been done. Her eyes then locked with Asad's and with one flutter of her lashes she thanked him for all that he had done here to welcome her and in response she was gifted with his sexy dimpled smile.
After all the initial settling in and the endless teasing by Najma and her friends, Dilshaad went and sat next to Zoya just as she was trying to hide a yawn. "Tired?" Zoya shook her head in denial but Dilshaad just placed a loving hand on her head and continued "You don't need to hide anything from me. You can tell me whatever you want, I am just like Zeenat for you. " Zoya looked at her and nodding her head said "Ji Phoophi." Dilshaad gasped at her and Zoya looked at her not understanding the reason." Putting on a stern expression and mock scolding her she asked "Who is Phoophi here? If I am Ammi to Asad and Najma, so am to you too. Don't you ever call me Phoophi again." Hearing that, Zoya smiled wide and flung her arms around Dilshaad apologizing and then finally calling her Ammi. Dilshaad caressed her hair lovingly and then finally asked Najma and her friends to take Zoya to her room and make her comfortable.
As soon as Zoya heard that, she felt her stomach summersault and her heartbeat increase. Slowly walking towards what now would be her and Asad's room Zoya felt shivers run down her spine. Slowly entering the room she looked around taking in the beauty of what Asad had done for her. Like the rest of the house this room too was decorated with her favorite flowers. She could see her suitcases neatly placed right next to the walk in closet and on the other wall there were pictures of her and Asad from their engagement day along with some photographs of them both with the rest of their family. She smiled seeing all that he had done to make her feel at home instantly and felt her heart swell with love for him. She could not thank him enough for being the way he was. Right at this point the only thing she wanted to do was hold him tight in a hug and never let go. As soon as this thought crossed her mind, she blushed a dark shade of red gaining another round of teasing from the girls.
Finally she was settled in her new room and they all left her to wait until Asad came. Sitting alone in the room Zoya could feel her heart pounding in her chest and she took deep breaths to calm herself down. It wasn't as if she was not aware of what was to come once Asad came to the room but just the thought of it all made her stomach summersault endlessly and her heartbeat just wouldn't come down no matter how hard she tried and no matter how many deep breaths she took. She felt it to be all too filmy to be sitting on his bed waiting for him so she got off the bed and walked towards the window and leaned against it looking out and letting the calm of the night soothe her senses too. She took deep breaths of the fresh air and instantly felt her heart and body relaxing.
She heard footsteps approaching the room and knew it was Asad. She closed her eyes and took in one last deep breath before he came in. She opened her eyes to the sudden shrieks of Najma and her friends who seemed to be standing right outside the room. She moved closer to the door trying to listen into what was happening.
"Bhaijaan, aise kaise aap chale jaa rahey they andar?"
Asad smiled sarcastically at his sister and replied "Have you forgotten that is my room tamatar." He said pointing over her shoulder. Najma looked where he was pointing and then looking back at him shook her head in denial and said "Nope Bhaijaan, that is not your room, that is my Bhabhi's room." Asad looked at her with his eyes wide and was almost about to say something when he saw her burst out laughing.
"Now let's talk business Bhaijaan." She said with a serious expression and a tone that meant business only, surprising Asad further. "If you want to go in our Bhabhi's room, you will have to pay the toll tax for us all to let you in." Hearing this, his eyes widened again and his mouth fell agape. Najma and her friends laughed out loud and hearing all the commotion Dilshaad came to see what these girls were upto. Sensing what was happening and seeing Asad getting restless she placed a hand on his arm and nodded her head at him.
Asad looked at his Ammi with shock and was just about to say something when Dilshaad said "It's your sisters nek beta, you are supposed to give her something so she can let you go in." "But pay to get entry in my own room?" he asked exasperated. Dilshaad laughed at his expression and pulling his cheeks nodded her head and indicated towards his pocket. Asad sighed and finally took out whatever was in his pocket and placed it on najmas outstretched hand "Ab theek hai, now may I go in MY room?" he asked her playfully. Seeing the fat wad of cash that Asad had placed on her hand Najma's eyes widened with happiness and she wrapped her arms around him "Thankyou Bhaijaan, you are the best. And yes you may go in now." she said cheekily earning a big smile from both her Ammi and Asad. He looked at Dilshaad for her permission which she gave with a wide smile and nodding her head.
Zoya had been listening to all that was happening was laughing silently inside felt her hands sweat at the thought that he was right at the door and would come in any second. She quickly went and stood next to the window again. From the corner of her eyes she saw the door open and then close. She heard him putting the latch on the door and his footsteps nearing her. She placed her hand on her heart trying to calm it. She could hear her heartbeat and was sure it was loud enough for him too.
Asad came and stood a few steps away from her waiting for her to react to his presence. He saw her move her hand to her chest and taking deep breaths. Understanding her nervousness he closed the distance between them and stood right next to her. They stood there, side by side looking out the window. Asad looked towards her and saw her looking more nervous than he had ever seen her. He felt their hands brushing against each other and very gently he held her hand in his. He felt her grip tighten on his hand and mirrored her action. The silence that enveloped them was much more than a thousand words they would say.
Tugging her hand a little Asad made her face him but she still was too nervous to look in his eyes. Placing a finger under her chin he made her look at him and smiled warmly at her. "Welcome home Mrs. Zoya Asad Ahmed Khan." He said cupping her face and she gifted him with her dazzling smile "Thankyou Mr. Khan" she said and in an instant crashed into Asad hugging him tight. Asad wound his arms around her waist pulling her flush against himself. They stood there holding each other and just relishing these initial moments of their togetherness.
After a few minutes Asad gently moved her back a little and looking into her eyes whispered "You look so beautiful today... I love you Jaan." Blushing she looked away and then looking in his eyes she whispered "I love you too." Asad kept his hold tight around her and she could feel the air around them heat. She saw the flicker of emotions in his eyes and his smile fading as his eyes darkened with desire. Zoya felt her cheeks burning and couldn't hold his gaze. Feeling shy she lowered her eyes.
"Look at me Zoya." Asad whispered and saw her shake her head in the negative.
"Please..." she heard him say and noticed the change in his voice. Her head shot up immediately. As soon as she looked up Asad cupped her face and tried to verbalize his feelings wanting to tell her what she meant to him, what this day and night meant to him, what every day from now on means to him, but words just wouldn't come out. He tried again but not one word seemed appropriate for the immense love and happiness that he felt at the moment. Feeling helpless he rest his forehead against hers hoping she would understand. Zoya's arms went around his neck. Pulling him closer she closed her eyes. The intoxicating mixture of their mingled breaths created havoc with their senses.
Their senses taking over, Zoya felt his head dip towards her and as if her body had been waiting for it, her head tilt up and she met him half way. As soon as their lips met it felt like a million fireworks had gone off at the same time in her stomach. Trying to control her feelings she pressed herself into him tightening her hold on him. He too pulled her against himself trying to mould her soft body against his hard one. They finally broke their first kiss as a married couple and with small smiles they hugged each other trying to control their heartbeats.
Moving away a little Asad told her to change as she must be tired of all the heavy jewelry and her heavy dress. The mere mention of changing brought another blush to her cheeks which didn't go unnoticed by Asad. Lowering his head he kissed her cheeks "I love the way you blush Zoya." He whispered into her ear. Zoya closed her eyes at the sensations his voice had on her tonight and was only able to whisper his name.
The whisper of his name from her lips was all that took for him to lose control and in one swift move he picked her up bridal style and moved towards their bed. Placing her down gently Asad sat in front of her. Both gazed deep into eachothers eyes and very slowly Asad moved forward and kissed her forehead confessing his love for her again. He very gently removed the heavy dupatta from her head and slowly moving behind her he removed all the ornaments from her head finally opening her hair for her. As soon as all the weight was gone from her head she leaned back resting against his hard chest "This feels so much better Asad, thank you."
Asad literally gathered her in his arms and placed soft kisses along the side of her head finally reaching her neck. He moved her hair to one side and removing her heavy dangler placed a soft kiss on her temple. He repeated the same on her other ear and after removing the heavy piece of jewelry placed open mouthed kisses on her neck. She closed her eyes as soon as she felt his lips on her skin. She could feel his lips leave a hot trail on her skin. She gripped his hands tightly trying to control her heartbeat. She felt his fingers graze the skin on her back and then she felt the necklace slip forward. Kissing her nape he helped her out of the necklace too. Zoya closed her eyes tight because of all the sensations she felt.
He sat in front of her again and saw her eyes closed. He lift her hands in his and kissed her knuckles. Zoya opened her eyes and saw desire in his chocolate brown orbs. She moved forward and placed her lips over his. The effect of her initiating a kiss was nothing as what he had ever imagined. He felt his whole body shake, as if bolts of electricity had passed through him. Holding her gently by her shoulders, not breaking the kiss, Asad pushed her back until her back hit the bed and his broad body had covered her tiny figure completely. It didn't take long for them to unite in every way possible, taking their relationship to the next level where they could truly be called husband and wife. That night was witness to their love, as now Zoya belonged to Asad and Asad was only Zoya's.
The End.
