Why this obsession with romance?

When there was no Dev, mandli on IF wanted Shaurya. Even when he was shown as rapist they still wanted him to be paired with Durga.

Then when Dev came it became about him and Durga. Still someone suggested Shaurya could not be left out so he can be paired with Payal.

Some want any of Shaurya's friends to be innocent and be paired with Payal. One wants a new guy for Payal.

The poor girl has not even recovered yet there are talks of "pair".

Why?

Many shows are about mythology, history, kids' shows, crime etc but India forums will discuss nothing except jodi. I have even seen threads on male jodi and dostana.

Why?

Is there nothing else left? Nothing else visible in theme of a show? 😲

Even movies are moving on now. The biggest hit 3 Idiots had just 2 romantic scenes.

In past shows have succeeded without focusing on love stories.

Why this obsession with "pairs"?

What next? New woman for Dayal? Since the poor man is alone and still looks handsome?

How many times was right, wrong, law, rape or issues taken up by EHT were discussed?

Whereas we have a Durga-Shaurya vs Durga-Dev thread every alternate day!

Will we have only jodi ATs and fan fiction now?

This serial looked different. I don't know where it will head.

Pardon my language, but I never knew people were this starved till I joined internet forums like these. Romance, romance, jodi, jodi!

What next? Threads on eyelocks and accidental touches?

It is complained TV lacks variety. Sure it will when people want same things in every serial.

Who looks hotter with Rajnath? Sakshi? Or Raima? Let's discuss chemistry, physics, biology!

I think Durga should marry Dev, enter Goenka house. Saas bahu drama with Sakshi. Bhabhi devar drama with Shaurya. Romance with Dev. Nice, right?

Sorry. The time I have been on IF, I have been surprised at single minded obsession with just one thing. Sex oops, I mean "love and romance".

Just had to speak out.

Show can be about anything but all that matters is "jodi". Hail internet groups!

I have no problem with the concept of love. I loved how Gowariker showed the love story in 'Swades', What Tv scenes lacks is maturity. All those cliched moments and accidental touches. The story of Cindrella, rich guy and poor girl and accidental marriages. Sometimes, we already know what is going to happen😆

Haha, I totally agree with you on this. Everybody is so obsessed with romance all the time. There is so much more to this show and by the way, not everyone needs to be "paired". I don't understand why people keep trying to pair Shaurya up with somebody, he really doesn't deserve the love of anyone; he is beyond disgusting.

haha,,i agree skep..the romance addiction is a lil too much in IF..even a forum of a mytho like MB has romance threads.. but u cnt fight them..forget, ignore...tht said, i think any kind of romance on EHT will, for all practical purposes, effectively ruin the show..its abt justice and revenge..we all saw how the pace slackened with dev's entry..i dnt want tht to happen..i want to see durga get back to her plan, follow the chronological order of ruining the people she set out to..we are yet to see raima cut off like she planned a million years back...CVs shud finish the dev angle asap and get back to work..

I think Swades flopped precisely due to lack of balance. Look at films like RDB, Lagaan, TZP with little or no romance. They stuck to their theme.

Anand was a hit and classic. King of romance Rajesh Khanna is in it. No female opposite him. Yet it still clicks.

Why demands of boys or girls for every character? Reminds me of uncles and aunties in real life who keep talking marriage even when kids have just hit puberty.

How long can one ignore? I have been flabbergasted since I saw an AT even for an illegitimate couple when I joined IF in 2011. Fans would not allow use of the word "mistress" for that female. 😲

God knows how many forums seem sidetracked just for romance. I have resisted from commenting at many places and left certain forums once they became jodi obsessed.

Dev did slacken EHT. So did this love triangle. I am shocked Payal was ignored and we were never told her medical condition (why she behaves like a kid? Due to electric shocks that she received? ). Nothing about Durga's memories of her parents. Only Dev!

I do not remember anyone taken down except Ganguly which was ages ago.

They stopped showing boardroom as well. Goenkas always at home? Even Rajnath is nowadays simply shuttling between his house, farmhouse and Raima's house.

I know what is in store. Durga wallowing in guilt, having flashbacks, looking at locket. Maybe even discouraged and on backfoot.

And on other side we will have people still celebrating attitude of Shaurya and dropping in to say that he suits Durga more.

If I see one more new DurSha vs DevGa poll I might faint in exasperation!

EHT is different. It's a story about a girl who seeks revenge. What attracted me to the show is Durga's mission. In the promos (before the show started) we saw Sanjeeda playing with the emotions of Vatsal. That made us sure that Vatsal is the main culprit of something (I didn't know what that time) . I felt like Yes now a woman fights for justice. A woman fighting for justice. In indian daily soap we can hardly see such shows without the saas-bahu drama.

As for the pairs, let me start with Payal. Payal is suffering in her life for no fault of hers. When she wanted to stand up against the injustice she got worse results. I want her to recover and lead a normal life and I would like to see that in this show. In our society rape victims hardly get to lead their lives normally as people taunt and even abuse(verbally) them (like what Ganguly said to Payal). So I want her to start her life afresh (after recovering). She deserves a nice guy who will accept her past and lead a happy life in future. So I would like to see someone pairing opposite Payal.

Coming to Durga, she also deserves a good guy in her life. One is that much strong that he/she'll never shed a tear and go for planning all the time. I am not saying Durga should go and romance with Dev. But she also needs a break. At this stage of revenge-game, she can't do that. All she can is to work with Dev, reliving some good memories. That's what every human being needs. But I would never want Durga romancing with Dev forgetting her missions.

Why Swades flopped is a different subject altogether but the point is involving some amount of romance is not bad provided it doesn't give away with the original story line. To me Swades was the only SRk film I loved.

Talking about EHT. The love story was not really required but they had to put one, I guess the man should have been someone outside the GOenka house. Revenge against one Goenka and lovng another , I cant find this to be natural. this is one impractical thing to me and so shall it remain.

Interesting topic. But we are in a minority.

This obsession makes character actors as nuisance to be tolerated upon until the next lovelock appears. This creates fan wars. My pair is better than your pair and my hero is better than your hero.

It also creates those meaningless fan appreciation threads.

Story has to be about romance only even if there is a death in the family. How the heroine runs to the hero and embraces him tightly. during her hour of sorrow.😆

But it has come to stay.

Durga can marry after quickly finishing off revenge no? How do you expect her to carry out her plan if married? Rather than dragging they should finish revenge.

As for Payal. At least let her recover man! Let her recover and reconnect with ongoings, reconnect with sister. Then we'll talk of a guy. Plus that guy does not have to be a friend of Shaurya!
